I called Home DisComfort Experts only because the previous owner had used them to install their furnace and blower and their label was on the furnace. The AC stopped blowing, and being August it had to be fixed. The technician came out and gave me the bad news that the motor that ran the blower was out. It was only a little over a year old he said, so he would order the part and I wouldn't have to pay to have it replaced. (The sticker actually said it was two years old.) He said it would take 3 to 5 days, up to a week to get the part in and they would let me know. That service visit was $124. Not hearing anything in a week I called them and was told the part hadn't come in. Three days later I called and again she said they would call me when it came in. Th next morning I got a call from them asking me to call. I was told that I would have to pay for labor, and they would order the part. I asked her to have the manager call me. In the mean time I called a local company I had used before and told them gave them the model and serial number of the furnace and told them it was a blower motor. He said he would call me back in 15 minutes, which he did. He said they could get the part and be out in an hour or so. I was kind of surprised as I had been waiting almost two weeks for the motor. I asked him about the part and he said as it is a common manufacturer, Trane, the part was readily available, in fact they would go to a supply store and pick it up. I had them do the work and with an hour or so they were already there and replacing the motor. The next morning the manager from Home Discomfort Experts called. He told me the tech shouldn't have told me they could get it in 3 to 5 days, as it could take up to two weeks. I then told him that I had called a trusted company I had used before and why was it they could get it in and hour and it took them two weeks? He replied almost proudly ""We buy direct from the manufacturer."" To which I replied, so you would keep a customer waiting for two weeks in August with no AC when the part can be picked up here in a supply store! He did offer to take $40 off the labor cost, which almost seemed like an insult at that point. We went from free installation to $240 to $200.

-Home Discomfort Experts are not local to Fort Wayne, but Mishawaka. When you try to contact them, all calls are routed through Mishawaka. The manager told me they maintain an office here.
-Their parts are ordered from the manufacturer which in my case took almost two weeks. This saves them money at the expense of service to customers.
-I highly recommend you do not waste your time with Home DisComfort Experts. I wasted almost two weeks in August heat only to find a local provider that could do it immediately.

They have good technicians but they have lost touch with their scheduling. I used their service annually for ten years and it has gotten worst each year. If they find a problem the repairs are hyper expensive...10x markup on parts. One technician admitted to this. Just fired them and will be moving on. I think they have taken on too many customers.

Just heard a friend paid $7k for a new AC that I paid $2K for A complete ripe off even assuming inflation. Avoid this company.
Techs are compensated to replace units and took advantage of this person.

Possibly the dumbest company I've ever dealt with. They won't come out if you AirB&B or VRBO your house. These mopes also will only deal with the owner so they have no interest in the multiple millions of dollars of property managed for remote owners which is pretty common around UND.

Probably the best experience I've ever had as a customer. They were all polite, punctual, transparent and willing to answer all of our questions.

Run far away from this company! Their main goal seems to be to sell you a whole new furnace! We had a guy from them come out for $169 for a service call. The first thing he said was that we needed a new furnace. Then, he told us if we wanted to change the part that was actually broken, it'll cost $1000 to replace and the furnace will still need to be replaced. Instead, we got another opinion and we were able to change the part for $200. This company is the most expensive in town so go somewhere else to save some money! They aren't experts as they call themselves, just another company buying out all the small ones in south bend.

I had them come out years ago on an emergency situation middle of winter. Technician came out and wouldn't touch our furnace because it was older. All he wanted to do was sell us a new furnace. With a baby in the house and no heat in January I begged him to at least get it going so we could have heat and then send me a quote. He did do that but never bothered to send a quote. Called a different HVAC company out and they had it fixed in under an hour. Said there was nothing wrong with our older furnace except it was louder than the new ones. When we sold the house the old furnace was still going strong. Definitely do not use Home Comfort.

First and foremost, I'd like to recognize the techs that did a great job:
Dustin B., Cody B. and Rob (manager). This is where the 3 stars comes into play-My experience began on 1/5/22, I was scheduled for a furnace install on my residence. Install tech Romao C. and helper arrived on time. I'd check on them throughout the day and ask questions. Towards the end of job they couldn't get one of the Wi-Fi stats to work due to a common wire. I asked them to just put any stat on at this point (7 hours later with no heat). He did, helper put other two stats on. While we were in basement, he fired the furnace up and when it shut down, we heard a loud pop/bang. Apparently the noise was coming from the metal work to resize to this furnace. Tech said no big deal, he had made a few calls etc and said they can come back and fix. I never heard from anyone. On 1/17, I got a call from Rose (coordinator) apologized for not knowing to schedule a return appt. She seemed to have it together. We set day and time range for return to repair the pop. That day AND time came and went and no one showed up. Rose forgot to put on schedule (I had to rearrange my schedule for this appt. ) That didn't seem to bother Rose, again very apologetic. another day and time was scheduled. when Dustin and Rob arrived, I questioned a lot of the way the install was done as well as I had a stat that didn't even work. All the first tech did had to be redone because it was all COBBLED. And the pop was thought to be corrected. It wasn't. Last date to finally remedy the pop was 2/14. (It was annoying to hear and sleep for 6 weeks) My dissatisfaction was the communication from this company and the first install tech's workmanship. Last but not least, you get no paperwork, period. All I received was an email with estimate and nothing on the information/warranty about the furnace or humidifier and I had to grab the info on stats before tech disposed of. BOTTOM LINE-Romao and Rose failed to do their jobs. Communication and pride in workmanship should prevail. SOMETIMES A COMPANY CAN BE TOO BIG. Would I recommend them, probably not. I am a REALTOR and I am often asked for recommendations.

I can't attest to the product or service they sell because I would NEVER purchase their overpriced product. As soon as the ""technician"" came to the house for a quote, it felt like I was being sold a Kirby vacuum. It was over the top salesman. I didn't get the vibe that he wanted to sell me what I need. He wanted to sell to fill his pockets. He even came prepared with quotes from OTHER customers to try and prove to me that he wasn't overpriced. I had three quotes done and this company will not be the one I choose. I would advise this company to tone the salesman character of their employees. Also someone should teach them that it's very unprofessional to bad mouth other companies in town. I was not impressed.
