Harvey S.This is an update from my last 5 star review when they installed our new A/C. I hired G&S for an electrical job to install an EV car charger, it's 240V outlet on a 50amp breaker and a few minor outlet additions to my garage. These guys are the best. Everything went great. Their installs look clean, they cleaned up the area after work and our new charger works fantastically. Thanks again!!
I would rate them 3.5/5 if given the chance. The good: they fixed the issue and my heat pump is now working correctly. The bad: very expensive. I paid $159 for someone to come out. They realized the issue very quickly but they didn't have time to fix it that day. They said it would take 4 hours and the that labor was $715. They came out a few days later and fixed it in 2 hours. So when all is said and done, I paid $875 for about 2.5 hours total of labor plus the cost of refrigerant, which seems overly costly. I would contact them again if I was in a bind because they did a good job on the repair but be prepared to pay an insane hourly rate.
Jerry G.This review covers our service plan that we bought when having our heat pump system serviced 18 months ago...
The ""service"" part of the service plan is extremely disappointing. Both of our scheduled services (winter & summer) were not scheduled until halfway through each season (we were told they would come out pre-winter and pre-summer, respectively) and each time, we were made to wait excessive periods of time beyond the promised appointment for a technician to arrive. Yesterday's service was to be between 8:00 and noon and service didn't arrive until 3:15. The service call lasted 20 minutes--comparatively, the winter visit was equally as delayed and last almost an hour. No explanation of service provided.
Shawn R.Very impressed with Willy. He was ahead of schedule-called ahead to let me know he was coming. Walked me through all that he was doing which was helpful and educational. Would highly recommend signing up for their maintenance plan as well. Thank you G&S!
C'est La V.The only HVAC company I could find to install my new smart thermostat!! On time, called before he got to my house, Great customer service and super responsive. Eric was wonderful and funny, worked fast the entire appt was less than an hour. THEN I had them back to quote me on some electrical work. Are good electricians supposed to be this affordable?
Use G&S you will not be disappointed!!!!!!
Robert S.Update: Roger the owner contacted me after I stated my distress to the after hours service manager, Shasta. I don't consider myself particularly warranting of an owner's phone call. Needless to say, I was most appreciative and he cleared the air of all issues. I will be scheduling the work in the near future.
Original: I can not reiterate to potential customers of this deceitful company to STAY FAR AWAY from G & S heating. I thought they'd listen to customer reviews of intolerable actions, but today when I DID NOT schedule an appointment had my debit card charged a 50% deposit of the total job WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION. READ IT ALOUD, NO APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED. I am reporting the company to the BBB and have other avenues I'll resort to to keep customers from dealing with absolutely shady companies like this again. I hope they lose sleep at night through their practices.
Michael M.I had G&S replace my broken and outdated heat pump system. Throughout the whole process, they were quick and efficient with communication and seemed genuinely empathetic about doing the job correctly. They immediately corrected a mistake when it was pointed out and didn't try to back pedal. So far, we've been very happy with the new equipment. It's effective, efficient, and very quiet. I would use these guys again with no hesitation.
How convenient that you don't have a Brad R in your database. You did mention how long you were in business and that you were a Costco preferred installer. The reason I made an appointment with you. Does the name Jesse Collver sound familiar to you as I have his card from when he came out and he works for G & S. There would be no reason for me to contact you as I had someone else come out to do the job.
We called G&S after we had spoken to another company who suggested that we need to do a lot of work on our furnace, which seemed like a scam. Talked with G&S for a second opinion and he said after looking at our furnace that we did not need to do all that work. We ended up having our furnace serviced by G&S Heating. They came when they said they would, no waiting. The technician was very helpful and experienced! He didn't have all the parts on his truck so he scheduled another appointment to come back and finish the job. I was very happy with the job he did. I would highly recommend them!
I contacted them regarding getting my heatpump cleaned.
I was told by T.W. (a rep that contacted me via email when I used their web contact form) that (copied straight from my email with her)
""We do in fact offer a maintenance called a Precision Tune up, which is a 25-30 point inspection process that does include cleaning and servicing the unit and verifying it is running at maximum efficiency. For your area and type of equipment, we offer our Precision Tune up for $ 227.00 plus tax for your Goodman system.""
Notice where it says cleaning, I specifically asked twice if it was going to be cleaned yet the tech that came out said that was a different service that would cost $170 or so at the end of my service.
The tech that came out was great, respectful and gave me a very good run down of everything but was thrown off when I told him about the cleaning when he was trying to bill me at the end.
If I was to know beforehand the exact service I was going to get prior to being billed I wouldn't have agreed to have a tech come out.
I feel really deceived by their office and honestly wouldn't? recommend them to anyone else if this is the way they conduct business.
Update: 6/5/17
I was contact by their Service Manager B.V. on May 22nd about what happened. I was offered a 30% discount on the service I originally thought I was getting. I declined the offer to spend more money since I feel that I should not have to pay more to get the service I asked for. On May 25th B.V. said he would talk with the owner and see about getting the cleaning I asked for. As of today there has been no response.
I will not be recommending or using G&S again.
