Fantastic work by this family owned business. They helped us with our boiler conversion from oil to gas including taking care of all of the paperwork and inspections in a timely fashion. Not only was the quoted price significantly lower than other quotes we had obtained (almost half in one case!), they helped walk us through the entire process down to the parts and equipment (Burnham boiler) that they used. The entire job took a little over 5 hours and left the job site cleaner than when they began. Keep in mind Richard Holzhauer and his company embody an ""old school"" mentality (preferring phone calls over emails and text), but he is always accessible and does excellent work. We are now using them for our other plumbing needs as well.

I was dreading the household disturbance of having to replace the boiler that was cracked and starting o leak, and asked around for recommendtaions for capable Plumbers for the job. I spoke with my next door neighbor who highly recommended Holzhauer Plumbing and insisted that I look over their clean, organized installation at his home. I called and Rich H. Sr. was helpful in setting up an evaluation and estimate very early in the day to accommodate my schedule. On the scheduled day this family operation showed up early, introduced themselves with eye contact and a firm handshake, and went to work. They have a seriously efficient protocol: one group arrived in a clean and well marked van, disconnected and removed the old unit, then cleaned up the area. As they were leaving another clean and well marked van pulled up with the new boiler and began the installation. While they were working another group of employees (They're all cousins, parents, and young men) installed the new-as-per current-code stainless steel chimney liner, after showing me the ash accumulation that had developed in the forty years since the old boiler was installed. Not quite as dramatic as watching a Surgical Team in an operating room, but still everyone had their task and completed it professionally. Finally they brought the new unit to life and we were surprised by how quiet the new boiler was and how quickly the house was getting comfortably warm. They cleaned the area thoroughly, explained the function and operation of the new unit, thanked me, and left. I believe that these men would be as comfortable and as polite as guests at our dinner table as they were craftsmen making a neighbor's home livable. Oh, they were several thousand less than the next nearest estimate for the same components. I would recommend Holzhauer Plumbing to anyone without hesitation. -Dr.T

This is my second time doing a oil to gas conversion. I am extremely happy with the service! We corresponded via email/text/phone throughout the process. On the day of the actual conversion, the entire family/team was on-time, they all knew exactly what needed to be done, gave me suggestions and answered my 100 questions, made last minute change of plan and provided me with a fair estimate. My basement, the pipes and everything was all over the place, they went above and beyond and put them all neatly and removed ones that were not needed. They were all extremely personable, great humor and good taste of music! Even the Gas guy that came to put in the meter had good things to say about the Holzhauer team!
Definitely would recommend anybody looking for a professional, fair priced and accountable team to do your plumbing work, they are your guys!

Though their scheduling can be timely for services once you get them in the door they are amazing...not only have I had a complete boiler installed 2 yrs ago they are very very knowledgeable and do go above and beyond explaining things and if the see something else not right they tell you unlike some other companies who won't Sat anything then you'd have to call them back out . Rich Jr, great guy.. thank you for being so helpful.... family run biz is at times better than the bigger corporations because you're not ripped off... I'd recommend this company again ...great value for your buck . Mrs deabreu ?

I just had my boiler and hot water system system serviced. Richard my technican replaced rods and expansion tank flushed the line sits running like the day it was installed. Personable , Professional and a pleasure to do business with. Price more than fair. I highly recommend them

last year this company did some very poor work on a water heater. I had another company come and fix their work. They are extremely rude. The employee they sent seemed to be very patronizing and in the end had no idea what they were doing.

This company was recommended to us by our realtor who stated they do most of the work in my neck of the woods.

Richie was super personable and friendly. Very loud. Just overall seemed like a good guy. We got a very fair estimate. His wife, the office secretary, was very good with walking me through the process with National Grid, as well as the paperwork process for the rebates.

The gas conversion itself was quick and seamless. It is clear they've done this many, many times. Richie was not there. There were a large group of men who came in to do the job who never really introduced themselves. Honestly, more like a much of boys. Most were not very friendly, but I assume it's just because they're young. I had as issue with a sink clogging up the night before the conversion and when I asked them about it the day of (since they're plumbers) they were able to fix it for me which I really appreciate.

When the project was done and I gave him a check, the guy in charge seemed annoyed saying how he's got to pay his team in cash, etc. He had stated my husband said we were going to paid cash. And that if I am to pay check now, he'd add tax and charge for me the plumbing work (which obviously it's not like I expected it to be free). He was certainly getting irritated. I honestly felt at the time I didn't have any other choice - they want cash and want it right now... not my check. My husband wasn't home at the time (my husband later denied he said it was a cash deal nor does it say so in our paperwork) so I just shlepped my newborn with me in the dead of the February winter to the bank while they waited for me at the house. It was just a weird situation.

Their professionalism can definitely be something of a concern. However they get the job done and they're actually good. And the price is right. Sooo... maybe it's a trade off.
