last year this company did some very poor work on a water heater. I had another company come and fix their work. They are extremely rude. The employee they sent seemed to be very patronizing and in the end had no idea what they were doing.

This company was recommended to us by our realtor who stated they do most of the work in my neck of the woods.

Richie was super personable and friendly. Very loud. Just overall seemed like a good guy. We got a very fair estimate. His wife, the office secretary, was very good with walking me through the process with National Grid, as well as the paperwork process for the rebates.

The gas conversion itself was quick and seamless. It is clear they've done this many, many times. Richie was not there. There were a large group of men who came in to do the job who never really introduced themselves. Honestly, more like a much of boys. Most were not very friendly, but I assume it's just because they're young. I had as issue with a sink clogging up the night before the conversion and when I asked them about it the day of (since they're plumbers) they were able to fix it for me which I really appreciate.

When the project was done and I gave him a check, the guy in charge seemed annoyed saying how he's got to pay his team in cash, etc. He had stated my husband said we were going to paid cash. And that if I am to pay check now, he'd add tax and charge for me the plumbing work (which obviously it's not like I expected it to be free). He was certainly getting irritated. I honestly felt at the time I didn't have any other choice - they want cash and want it right now... not my check. My husband wasn't home at the time (my husband later denied he said it was a cash deal nor does it say so in our paperwork) so I just shlepped my newborn with me in the dead of the February winter to the bank while they waited for me at the house. It was just a weird situation.

Their professionalism can definitely be something of a concern. However they get the job done and they're actually good. And the price is right. Sooo... maybe it's a trade off.

RUDE!!!!! Absolutely no phone manners. The owner answered the phone, asked him few questions, then out of nowhere he got loud, nasty and hung up!!!!!! After reading the reviews, i m glad NOT to do business with him

I was very happy when Holzhauer did my oil-to-gas conversion last summer. However, we have an issue with our hot water pressure. I was told it was a 5 minute fix. Well, 1 1/2 months later, and they still haven't come. I've gotten called only to be told to send a text the next day. Then I get ghosted. This has happened 4 times. I emailed the owner, who answered my initial email on this issue, only to be ghosted by him, as well. Very frustrating that they only care about the big-money jobs and are not interested in repeat business. I certainly wouldn't recommend them again to anyone.

This company is very bad. The phone 99% is message, sale service so so bad. Need pay town's money over 2 years not pay, directly affect the housing information update. I am going to the town government to complain their company.

Yesterday was a great day been fighting for over 30 years for a gas line on my block and we we now have it! Did my change over from oil to gas yesterday we use this awesome company in connection with national grid Holzhauer Pluming and Heating! The guys are a family owned company they are very professional courteous clean and funny! If you want the job done right and done right the first time this is the company to cool I could see them going long and far in the future if I ever need more plumbing work done in any house I own I will call them great job guys I will spread the news about your awesome company!

This the worst company to deal with did an incomplete job had to hire a more competent plumber to complete the work. Waste of time as I had to change the plumbing permits with the town which caused more problems. Do not believe what they tell you on the sales call. They are rude and disrespectful when you have an issue.

TOP NOTCH experience. This company came highly recommended to my from a colleague who lives in Syosset and they did the boiler conversion for most of the houses on his entire block. My experience from start to finish was worlds better than other companies I got quotes from. The owner came to my house as scheduled and gave me a detailed breakdown of the price, the items, rebates, etc., all on the spot. The price was about $4-5,000 less than other companies that were refusing to give me a breakdown of what I was paying for. On the day of the job there were 6+ men completing the job. They were professional and great at what they were doing. They cleaned up after themselves and even vacuumed. They could not complete the job in the same day because of the amount of oil I had left in my tank, but they came back the following morning, as promised, and finished the job. I would HIGHLY recommend this company for a boiler conversion. They also installed a new water tank, closed off my old oil tank, and installed a new chimney system. 1 stop shop you cannot beat!

DO NOT USE THEM!!! Hired them for gas conversion and it was a disaster!! Thought the owner (father-Richie ) was great when he came to give us an estimate. He seemed honest and genuine and so did his wife when I was setting up the estimate. Little did I know he's the exact opposite! He sent his sons/family members to do our conversion(he wasn't even there to help/supervise) and all we heard all day was all of the men degrading women and talking about sex while they worked (I have 2 small children and did NOT want them hearing that). Then they swindled us out of extra money for something that their father/owner said we didn't need. Then his son, Richie JR who was supposedly in charge broke our kitchen faucet then LIED about it. The father told us he would hook up our new gas stove and when his sons were here Richie jr told us pay Home Depot to do it. He neglected to tell us our current stove was hard wired to the fuse box so when Home Depot delivered our stove they couldn't install it cuz Richie jr never told us about it.
