Wish I could give less then in one star. I made appointment several weeks in advance ( was referred from another companies employee. She said they did great work for her mother). That Holzapple was more like family because she had used them for years. Poor woman she's probably been over charged for every repair and estimate. That's if they showed up.

The appointment was set up and I had to meet the technician at my mother's house in Amityville NY. I live in Connecticut so it's a 2 hour drive which is fine because they give you a three hour window. The problem? I made it to my mom's house in plenty of time driving from Connecticut. The technican 45 minutes late! AFTER THE 3 HOUR WINDOW! ONLY after I called to inquire where the technician was did the women say over the phone ""Oh I was just about to call you"" the technician is running late"". Really? After 25 minutes more the technician shows up. No apology,. Then he starts going through the house, never really acknowledging what I needed. He started asking if I was going to use his company for my new shower installation and began calling his company for shower parts. Needless to say he was at my home for almost 2 hours. He said it would take a week or so to get back to me with a quote. It's been 5 months, and to this day I haven't heard one word back from the company. No phone call, no email, nothing. THERE IS A GOD!
RUN, from this company. Any company that shows up 45 minutes late with no follow up doesn't need the business.

This is a lousy lazy ""we don't give a -----"" opetation. So called plumbers came to fix the toilet. Three times in early mid 2018 and stil the problem hasn't been fixed. Last time the plumber said there is a problem with lime build up. He told me to go to Google for an answer. Isn't that his line of business? Also a rip off big bucks.move on from this joke. If necessary use an outhouse.

I was sent to Holzapple by Petro to fix a leaking air vent in my heating system. They charged me $150 for an estimate, and an additional $700 to fix the vent. While the leak is resolved, I'm still not getting heat in that air vent. Parts were just a few bucks, and they told me it was 3 hours of labor, but the technician was in an hour in under an hour. I paid $850 for something that would have cost me $100 bucks with a local plumber. Complete scam.

This company is a total rip-off!
They came to fix a leaky toilet which took them ten minutes to fix and cost me $140!
Two months later it starts leaking again from the pipe they replaced, but they won't come back to look at it without charging me again!
What's worse is a manager won't even get on the phone to discus it with me.
This company was always known as expensive but they would stand behind their work, they certainly seem to forget their values.
As a member of the community (I live less then 2 miles from their office), I will let everyone know how they just don't stand behind their work and its just about the money.... forget about old fashioned service.

I have been to Holzapple 2 times only for propane for my barbecue.
They are about the only place in the area that i know of that even carries it.

They are open till 5pm during the week they are closed on sundays.
The staff is very friendly and always happy to help.
Unlike other place i have been for propane refills when i lived out on the island, Holzapple checked the tank before and after filling it.
They are the only place I go for propane.
I can not comment on there plumbing operation, But as far as getting propane they are definitely the best anywhere I have been.
