Had a leaking drain pipe. They showed up same day as I called, On time. Found the problem right away, and was the much easier and cheaper fix than I thought it was going to be. Was fixed on the same visit. Very friendly and professional.

I called them to fix a shower that would not turn off. Hot water kept spraying. When the plumber arrived, he said ""I can tell before I do anything that this is a special order situation"". After at first using pliers on the wrong nut, he removed the stem. After some puzzlement and many looks, he said ""This can't be fixed today. Need to see if we can find one in the warehouse...""
Then he pulled out a brochure of pics of stems and pointed to the one that cost 400$. I said no thanks.
I took the stem to the local hardware store and it turned out this was a COMPETELY STANDARD stem. It cost 9$ and took me 15 min to install. Either that guy was a moron or a thief. Zero stars.

$600.00 to have a sump pump replaced, 45 minute job, seriously!!!!
Had I not already been stuck for the $89.00 service fee and my back against the wall from a home inspection and closing date I would NOT have let them complete the work and cut my losses at the $89.00. As some of the other reviews indicated, professional plumbers, with Very HIGH prices. Shop around.

I recently used Holt plumbing to replace the sprayer faucet in my kitchen sink. My old one had sprung a leak and I called and requested Holt plumbing to come out and assess the situation. They were up front with me about in initial $89 charge just to visit, so i knew that would be the minimum cost. But when he explained the cost to replace the sprayer I had to sit down. It was an additional 180+ dollars for a sprayer to be installed. Since i was already required to pay the 89.00 i made the choice to fet it fixed as water was going everywhere when i turned on the faucet. It took him 15 minutes the total bill was 270 plus dollars. So not only did they not remove the $89 charge to come visit, they also added the gauging price for a simple sink sprayer. A SPRAYER !!!! I will admit they were courteous and fast and it was my choice to replace thats why i gave then a 2 rating and not a 1 rating.. sorry Holt Plumbing but i wont call again because your prices are ridiculous. If you do the math that is over a $1000 an hour cost rate for their service. So, if you want to be price gauged - use them !!

Had a drippy master bathroom faucet, called on Friday and was scheduled for Saturday afternoon at no extra cost for weekend service. Tech was prompt, courteous and efficient. He was very pleasant and reminded me of the coupon I could use to lower the cost. Excellent service.

They came to look at my hot water heater that was not working properly. They offered an approximate $1,000 fix OR I could buy a new hot water heater, which was recommended over the fix, for $1600. I went to Lowes and priced out the purchase and installation of a new water heater and removal of old one and the total cost was $799! Hmmmmm Holt wanted to charge me twice as much for the same thing. Don't think I will ever use Holt again for any service

Great customer service. I received a text message a day before the scheduled service and a phone call shortly before they arrived. The problem was diagnosed quickly and I was updated on the progress of the repair.

Please, please go elsewhere. My 83 year old elderly mother lives in West Des Moines and we called to have the kitchen faucet replaced. The service man was awesome and did an exceptional job however then told me it would be a total of $350 to replace a kitchen faucet for a 35 minute job. If you like getting ripped off, call HOLT!

Found via Angie's List and glad I did. I've worked with a number of plumbing & heating companies in the area. This is one of the finest. Friendly, arrived when they said they would and reasonably priced. Dave C. did a nice job offering a few options for a small repair and worked with me on a quote for a gas line installation. I really appreciate it when people go the extra mile.

Holt has done considerable preventative maintenance on our 40 year old West Des Moines home plumbing system and installed plumbing to an addition to our house. In addition, they designed and built a zone heating system to the addition using our existing furnace and air conditioner unit, resulting in efficient and economic use of our equipment. Don recently replaced faucets and shut off valves that where corroded by the years and WDM water. He is a wonderful representative and skilled plumber who was sensitive and responsive to our needs.
