To be fair, Tom did quick work and, so far, we've not had any issues.

The problem is with Tom's total lack of ethical and professional behavior. We had Tom bid a job for us not once, but twice. Both times he said he'd do it for $2K but he never gave us an actual paper bid. He came and did the job quickly.

However, when he gave us the bill, it was for $3K not the $2K we'd (verbally) agreed upon. I called Tom to talk about it and when I stated that there must be some sort of misunderstanding or confusion, Tom replied in the voice I'd expect from a greasy used car dealer, ""Show me where I said I'd do it for $2K."" WOW...way to be spineless! Zero attempt at diplomacy, just resort to the I'm-screwing-you technique. Bravo

Based on my experience, I recommend that everyone avoid Tom Holm and Holms Plumbing. If the apocalypse happens and Tom is the last plumber on earth, MAKE SURE you get a paper bid from him, otherwise you can expect a 50% increase on your bill.
