Having used Hollisters in the past for various plumbing issues at the money pit, I have found them to be good at what they do, but I question their ethics. I had to have another estimate due to the city of Macomb on my back, and I thought estimates were free. In the past, I never had to pay for an estimate. This last time I was charged over 300 dollars and he did no repairs. I got an estimate for a ton of work that I did not ask about. I still owe Hollister's for that. I am 68. I live alone and owe them. I live off of social security. I'm sick with a progressive disease, and it just doesn't feel right that this business that makes more than enough money does this. I had plumbing work done previously where the wall had to be opened up to fix the leak. Maybe I am just stupid, but I thought they would repair the wall. NO! They would not. Oh, they would if I would pay for it to be fixed. I just feel that if you do the job that is part of it.
Macomb has been a horrible place to get repairs done .

We've gotten water in our finished basement since about 2008 whenever we've received a heavy rain or rain over the course of several days, enough to soak the indoor-outdoor carpeting in our finished basement great room and cover a large part of our laundry room floor.

We called Hollister, and John Purdy recommended a unique hybrid dewatering solution that addressed our specific situation: outdoor excavation and heavy duty tiling to keep water away from the house where Hollister could get down to the footings of our house and an indoor, below-the-floor solution in our laundry room along the wall perimeter below our garage and large deck where Hollister could not get to our footings in a nondestructive and cost-effective way from outside the house. (Another, well-known regional dewatering company offered only their one-size-fits-all indoor solution, which would have required removing and replacing drywall along the entire perimeter of our finished great room, our stairway, and the floor tile and drywall from our basement bathroom.)

Throughout the process, Hollister communicated well, answered our numerous questions, professionally addressed all issues that arose during the work, and followed up both during and after the actual work.

In addition to providing a solution that has already kept our basement dry during two multi-day periods of significant rain in the last month--periods that, in the last 13 or so years, would have undoubtedly required hours of repeated and tedious water removal with a wet-dry shop vac--Hollister provides a guarantee that covers the lifetime of the house and subsequent owners.

We really appreciate our new-found peace of mind and actually enjoy rainstorms again!

Called for a quote to replace hvac system, never received a call back. I called them twice a month later only to get an email saying they are to busy to give a quote. They obviously don't want or need any new business.

I love this company. I have had to have plumbers out twice since I bought this money pit, and these folks are the best. They came right out. The job was done correctly for a change and It didn't cost me an arm and leg.
