These guys know what they are doing and do it efficiently without cutting corners. They are friendly and professional. All plumbers are expensive but at least with these guys you get your $ worth and you won't have to re-do it later.

Very brief review but wanted to say that these people were honest the old fashioned way. They responded rapidly to a broken water hear request and sent a technician within the hour. They were unable to fix the problem despite trying for about half an hour. They advised on what to do but did not charge us because they couldn't fix the problem right then and knew that we might need them to return if the trouble shooting they advised didn't work. They advised correctly that we work with the servicing department at the water heater's manufacturer as it would be much more economical for us than to have them stay on the phone. It all worked out just as they said it would. Will definitely call them next time we have a plumbing/hot water heater issue.

Replaced leaking hot water heater. Called on Saturday evening when I found a leak under our hot water heater. They called first thing on Monday came out to size up the job and gave me a quote in the afternoon. Installed it on Wednesday in about an hour and a half,. Price seemed a bit high but the service was excellent and teh install very neat!

They used State Select which is an economy model to replace an economy model GE that we had. State has mixed reviews but time will tell. State seems to be the choice of lots of plumbers.

Hollin Hall was very responsive. Prior to calling Hollin Hall, I had 4 different plumbers come to view the problems in my house. None of them could fix the issues or provide a description of the root cause. The rate was very reasonable. I talked about buying a new toilet and asked about their prices. He advised me that it would be cheaper for me to buy the toilet and just have them install as it would save me money. Really? Most companies would just give you a quote and charge a ridiculous price. I like the quality of work, integrity of the works, and the friendly/family feel.

Very odd experience with this company. Very professional / polite staff on the phone. This company does not service condos, which is strange given the built up nature of Northern Virginia. The person who picked up the phone would not give a straight answer as to why this was the case, but happily provided a referral to another company.

All in all, strange, but not bad...

I called and left a phone message on a Saturday evening and they promptly called me back on Monday morning an hour after they opened. They got me into their schedule for Wednesday, so I only waited two days after they returned my call. The plumber who worked on my shower was quick, pleasant, and efficient. He was good with the dogs and even took his shoes off at the door to preserve my floor.

Had a slow 'mystery' leak and odor between the kitchen sink and down into the basement wall. Found Hollin Hall both thru Nextdoor and on Yelp. Bruce came out the next day and had to cut through the plaster wall to determine where the rusted pipe was. At first we thought the cabinets/granite counter might have to come out, but Bruce was able to access the damaged pipe and replace it all within 90 minutes. He also kindly answered some issues I have had with my dishwasher and wash machine installation that were done before we moved here. Bruce was very knowledgeable, efficient and considerate about keeping the work area clean (I really appreciate when a technician or repairman removes their shoes or puts on covers and sweeps up afterwards). I've finally gotten over sticker shock at the high cost of labor in the DC area, so I found the pricing acceptable. Regardless, plumbing is no time to skimp! I will have all my plumbing done by Hollin Hall from now on!

I have used Hollin Hall at two different locations over the last 3-4 years. You cannot beat their customer service in this industry. I'm a huge fan of small businesses and this shop is a perfect example of why - excellent and personal service.
