The entire experience from beginning to end was simple and pleasurable. The ladies that answered the phones and book the appointment were kind and efficient. They have great systems in place for notification. You even get the name and picture of your service provider via text prior to the arrival of your service pro. They only had a two how arrival window and arrive within that time frame. The pro was knowledgeable, helpful and efficient. Craig did a thorough but quick inspection to determine the issue after interviewing me. He was respectful of my property and shred some valuable info about my system, care and use that I found helpful. He event took the time to help me come up with some ball park numbers on two different replace two scenarios for when that day comes so I can plan for it financially. The cost was on the higher end of what I saw quoted on the internet for the type of service I needed but it was within the expected range. Overall, a great experience!

Every aspect of our experience with this company was wonderful. Our initial phone call was pleasant with a very kind woman who answered our call and made the appointment. An awesome feature: to let us know that a service person would soon be arriving, they sent a text message with a photo of Craig.

Craig showed up exactly at the estimated time. He was friendly and got our heater back up and running in no time. We definitely recommend this company!

On the good side, the serviceman who checked our old unit for years was reliable, good natured, and on time.
On the bad side, when getting a new HVAC installed, be sure to ask to see the permit they got from the city where you live. They charge for the permit, you're paying for it, so see if they produce it. They are not allowed to replace a HVAC unit until they have it.
And permits are worth it! Keeps contractors honest. The Atwater city inspector came out to sign off on the permit and found problems with their installation. I had to contact the Contractors State Licence Board (google cslb) to get Holl to complete the work so my home wouldn't be damaged by a problem with the condensation line that was filling the pan and leaking into my attic. Never would have known if Holl had gotten away without pulling the permit which, by the way, is state law.
Avoid this company if you can.

This company is a nightmare. Their customer service is horrible. Their bookkeeper is rude, argumentative and disrespectful. She interrupts you while you are speaking even when asks not to.
Diane was very nice and very helpful, unfortunately I could never speak to her after our initial conversation because the bookkeeper refused to take a message.
I am not innocent in this as I did use foul language after 7 minutes of frustration due to the bookkeeper's rudeness, and lack of knowledge and because she would not let me finish a sentence to save my life.
I am assisting my elderly parents who are in their late eighties and have a hard time hearing and sometimes get information wrong because of it. My mother has been in and out of the hospital recently and the added stress of their ac going out has sent my father over the edge.
I was trying to schedule HOLL to go to my parents home to replace my parents ac unit.
I am a 52 year old business owner and if I had an employee like their bookkeeper she would be collecting unemployment.
I do not know if she is part owner but my guess is she is not.
I wonder how many other potential customers she has chased away with her awful attitude.
It is very hot in Merced in the summer and peoples ac's go out all the time. I can't wait until one of my friends ask for a recommendation for ac repair.
I will make sure to tell them to steer clear of HOLL SHEET METAL!
IF I COULD I WOULD HAVE GIVEN THEM NEGATIVE TEN STARS!!!

I'm puzzled by the two poor reviews. I have relied on Holl for both heating and AC issues for several years and have always found them to provide responsive and good service. Today I called because our heater went out and they came and showed me a cracked hose we could easily replace without extra charge. Great service!

Sales person was nice enough, but as representatives go, they tell you what to hear.i was promised a free service call the following year and never received one. Each year (this one included) Holl called to set up a service appointment, I told them I never received my free inspection and they should make good on their word. Long story short, only one star because there is no option for ZERO STARS. Beware, they make promises they do not intend on keeping.

This business is unreliable and doesn't even have the decency to place a call when they decide not to keep a commitment. Adam Holl committed to do a major HVAC installation on a home I am building. He was quite polite and we seemed to be on the same page in terms of energy conservation and my needs.

He came out and reviewed my project and indicated that he would start the project the following week. The next Monday I got an e-mail from him indicating that he lost a man an would be unable to do my installation. I assumed what he told me was true and called him indicating that I would like to speak with him directly as I still wanted the system and could be flexible. I also had a sense that maybe he had underbid and so indicated that I could even be flexible on price if that were the problem.

Here I am a week later and have heard nothing from him. That is a bad, bad way to conduct business. Stay miles away from these folks if you want good service.
