I began my plumbing career about 13 years ago as an apprentice with a service and repair plumber in San Luis Obispo. After several years of training in repairs, I transitioned to new construction plumbing. I worked on residential track and custom homes from the ground up for several years and then transitioned to commercial and industrial plumbing. I participated in numerous projects, including hotels, wineries, and shopping centers across the central coast. My plumbing journey led me to Colorado and even a season at South Pole Station in Antarctica. Now, I’m back in San Luis Obispo, dedicated to providing the community with quality plumbing services at a fair price.

Brian replaced out leaking water heater on 1/2/13, the same day that we called. He was friendly, polite and professional. I would recommend this company.

I called for a plumber to look at some drain backups we had and Brian was out within the next couple hours and the job was diagnosed and finished in no time. We had yet another (unrelated) issue the within the next week or so, I called Brian later in the afternoon and he was able to make it out early the next morning. Since we were having some leakage issues the first time around Brian was gracious enough to check our meter and calm our minds of possible existing leaks. Good work, speedy service, I highly recommend these guys!

I had a serious pluming emergency at my house last night. A pipe under the bathroom actually blew apart and the water literally covering the bathroom floor. I found Hoffman's on Yelp and they sent a plumber to turn off the water right away before serious damage was done. Thank god because I would have never known where the shut off was. The guy said that we might have to go without water for the night but he would go under he house to see if it was something that he could fix tonight. He went under and said he found an old pipe blew apart and would need to be rewelded he showed me a picture of it. I was thinking how bad that sucked because now we would need to wait until the next day and go without water but he said he could take care of it right away instead! After fixing the pipe he recommended checking the water pressure on the pipe because its not common for pipes to blow apart that way. He found the water pressure extremely high, over 100 pounds when it should be much less! That meant a special valve that slows down needed to be replaced but because it was not an emergency he could come back the following day and save us money. This is one of the better company's in the area that I've felt with, the plumber went above and beyond what he could have. I will be passing on their phone number to all my friends and family! :)

I am impressed with the plumber that came out from this company last Friday afternoon. He did an great job of finding a way to fix our problem without the need for us to take out a second mortgage.
I was sitting in my living room unwinding and watching reruns of Star Trek when I heard a loud pop and the sound of gushing water coming from my bathroom. I ran to the bathroom and there was water spraying out of the middle of the wall.
I called their office at 4:00 Friday afternoon and had a plumber at my house within a few minutes. I guess the shower faucet had a fitting break so he gave me the option of fixing the leak or replacing the faucet entirely. Being on a pretty strict budget right now I opted for the simpler fix. I thought it was really cool that they didn't try to coerce me into spending a lot of money though. I got a card for myself and a couple extra for some friends. These guys are legit

I was very satisfied with the service I received from Hoffman Family Plumbing, Brian was a pleasure and very proffesional. Very efficient and reliable I would use his servive again.

Drain got clogged in my 1963 home. I washed clothes and i found myself with water coming out from my tub and underneath the toilet seat. It was horrible. Brian Hoffmann right away knew what was wrong gave me an estimate. He came fixed it, took a second look at everything and stuck with the estimate he had given me. Good honest family business! Thank you for your help!

I found them with a Google Search, and they answered the call right away. They arrived within 30 minutes and accurately diagnosed the issue. Then he came on Saturday morning and with the right parts. The work was great, and the charge very reasonable for the effort. Great work, nice people at a great price. I would call them again.

New faucet required an upgrade on the water supply connections to the faucet. Brian was very professional and completed the work for the estimated cost. Highly recommend this company.

My toilette got clogged Saturday morning. And I called Hoffmann Plumbing. He said he can be at my house in 2 hours. Thank god because we only have one toilette in the house because this was our vacation house, not our main house. We live on the East Coast. So finally he came over and went straight to the toilette. He tried to clear it with this snake he had, but to no avail. He asked me a couple questions about when the problem began and who else used the toilette. I told him no one used it yet this morning except for me,,but earlier my daughter did drop her toothbrush on the floor and couldn't find it. Immediately, the plumber pulled out a long-handled mirror from his box, but first emptied the water from the toilette. Then he put the mirror in the bottom of the bowl where the water usually is to look up into the part that goes up when you flush it. And then he found my daughter's toothbrush stuck in the upper crook in the toilette. The plumber then took a long stiff wire and with the help of his mirror hooked that wire around the toothbrush and with one try he yanked it right out like it was magic. I never laughed so hard. Total time he was there was under 10 minutes, and he charged me very reasonably. I felt sorry for him because it was Saturday and the water was dirty. So embarrassing. So I gave him a tip too.

What a rip-off!!! i called Brian of Hoffman Family Plumbing on a Saturday afternoon. He said I would be charged time and a half--faiir enough. He was here for a little bit more than two hours and presented me with a bill for $815! The materials he used could not have cost more than $15. I had apologized for taking him away from his family on a weekend and had actually bought a pizza for him to take home to his children. I wrote him a check for the full amount and gave him the pizza, too, telling him how disapointed I was that he gouged me. He took $100 off the bill, but he was still taking advantage of me, a senior citizen living on a fixed income. He shattered my faith in humanity. He seemed like such a nice young man, but in truth he was unscrupulous in the extreme.
