Ben K.Terrible company. They overcharge, don't show a breakdown of fees, and then bill you afterwards extra for ""technicians time"".
Summer T.This company is beyond disappointing. My husband and I have been trying to call and get an issue resolved with a manager and no one will call back. They sadly do not care about their customers.
Had Hoffmann Brothers come to repair a leaking upstairs toilet. Bolt had rusted out which holds the tank to the base. Total charge to repair 2 bolts holding tank to base $274.00. Toilet was removed and placed in tub beside the stool so the floor could be replaced. Toilet was reset several months later by ServPro. Water was turned back on only a few days prior to a second leak. This one caused by a faulty input line connecting to the toilet tank. I feel that the Hoffmann service when replacing the original leak should have caught this as it had to be damaged the same time. I did call and had Hoffmann come out after the second leak but they said it was not their fault. This time they did give mw a few dollar discount on the service call but I did not have them fix the problem as I am replacing the toilet - NO not by them as the estimate was well over $1000. Guess they only check the original problem and do nothing more.
They claimed that ServPro touched the toilet last when they set it back in place so ServPro was responsible.
Very friendly and knowledgable staff. They are prompt and communicative.
They quite a bit more money than other quotes I got for HVAC and gas line install services.
Ryan B.Terrible first interaction with Hoffmann Brothers. My wife and I are entrepreneurs. We recently moved to Nashville and started looking for an electrician to help us wire up our new building with EV chargers for our fleet of sprinters. We called Hoffmann were offered zero help - wouldn't even talk to us until we completed our lease. We called another local company and were immediately connected with the service manager. We got answers to our questions, exchanged names and emails, and just like that, we found our electrician. First interactions matter.
They advertise prompted and good services but twice they failed to show. Only after I called they immediately sent a text saying their technician was at a job that is bigger then they thought to call their number and rescheduled. Second time I call when they weren't here at schedule time, the woman told me she would get back to me. An hour later I didn't see their text, they called and told me because I didn't reply their technician was going to the next appointment. My appointment was at 11a they canceled me at 2:30pm. I do not recommend this company, simply because they are not dependable...
Tambra C.We had an HVAC emergency today (Saturday evening - 4th of July weekend) and no one anywhere would come help us until Monday. The answering service told us we'd get a call within a couple hours. Someone called back within 15 minutes and after a short explanation of the situation, the guy told us he could save us a lot of money and trouble by checking a specific fuse, and sure enough it was bad. Didn't catch this man's name, but god bless this guy, he saved our asses in a house that was already at 87 degrees and climbing. THANK YOU!
Jeff A.Just had a new complete AC system installed. Every part of our experience from sales to install was outstanding!
Thank you

SHADY business. Charged $95 for NO services rendered. Refuses to give full, Transparent breakdown of costs regarding new toilets with installation. Said they can't tell you the specifics of pricing for the different brands of toilets, even though the jump between brands is HUNDREDS of dollars. They know how much each toilet costs - that's how you run a business and keep up with inventory, etc. Completely UNETHICAL and ILLEGAL not to provide clients with a Proper, ITEMIZED quote and/ or receipt. Oh, and don't be mislead by claims that they ""give discounts"" in exchange for a ""monthly subscription"". That's not a discount, that's shifting where the price goes and how long you will continue paying out to them. Also said, ""if you're a member for the monthly subscription and you have an appointment, that appointment will never get pushed back or rescheduled. But if you're not, well, members get priority so your *scheduled* appt as a 'non-member' could be changed at anytime"".... you have got to be kidding
Wouldn't be surprised if they pay to have this post deleted either. They certainly pay off Google to remove Honest reviews that are less than 5 stars. Disgusting business
Patricia E.Awful service!!!! We spent over $5000 on the purchase and installation of a tankless water heater a little over a year ago. We've had nothing but issues with consistent hot water. We cannot get hot water in our master bathroom without running water down the drain for ten minutes!!! Hoffman came back out a few times and told us that we would need to pay another $1500 for them to connect the recirculating pump that is already within the hot water heater we purchased from them!!!! Why didn't they explain this when they quoted the price for the water heater to begin with?! Or explain that there would be an additional cost to connect the recirculating pump if we wanted to have hot water in a timely fashion. Hoffman supposedly ran tests to see why the hot water was not staying hot consistently in our kitchen also. They claim it is the city's issue and has to do with the pipes bringing water to the house. We called Navien (the manufacturer) directly and they pulled up our unit and information and said there were multiple tests that Hoffman could have run but didn't. They can tell on their end because it logs all tests performed in their tracking system for our unit.
Fast forward six months or so, our AC unit went out. We called Hoffman and thought we would start with them to get a quote. The gentleman, Billy, that came out seemed nice. He also looked at our water heater when we explained we were NOT happy with it. He gave us his word, which apparently is worth nothing, that they would make this right! That spending 5k+ on a water heater...you should be happy and should have hot water! He said that the air vent that was installed inside our basement was not allowing enough air circulation and probably should be vented to the exterior of the home. He said he would do that first and that it was not ok that they had not connected the recirculating line when they had initially installed the unit. He said that he would talk to their plumbing team and make sure to make this happen. He then proceeded to give us an astronomical rate for the replacement of our main AC/furnace unit. We chose not to go with them for that because we were able to get a quote for less than half the price for a brand new Rudd AC 16 sear unit with a longer installation warranty from a local company. We followed back up with Billy and our previous contact Mike a few times only to receive zero response to the promise that Billy had made to make our Navien purchase and installation right.
When I originally hired Hoffman for the hot water heaters replacement I chose them because we had just moved here from out of state. I didn't know any local family owned companies yet and was afraid of getting taken. I've learned that the big dogs on the playground are truly the ones to look out for! Terrible introduction to Tennessee and will never recommend Hoffman or Navien for that matter!!! Absolutely wish we had stayed with the 10 year old tiny tank water heater that was here originally instead of trying to upgrade to a tankless!!! I miss having hot water to wash my hands and my face! It's pointless to even hope to have hot water if you quickly use the restroom and go to wash your hands because it won't happen anytime soon!! Sad that a company this large can't do the right thing after spending such a significant amount on what should have been an investment.
