Robert, the founder, serves as the CEO of Hoffmann Brothers. He purchased Linton Heating & Cooling in 1988 and established Hoffmann Brothers at that time. At the time of acquisition, we had only 4 employees; now, we proudly employ over 200. For many years, Hoffmann Brothers specialized in residential and commercial heating and cooling before expanding into indoor air quality, geothermal, ductless systems, plumbing, water heaters, drains, sewers, appliance repair, electrical services, and beyond!

Robert graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri Rolla. As a registered Professional Engineer, Robert brings expertise to the company. Robert served on the board of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America and held the position of President for two years. He was honored as ACCA Man of the Year in 2000, 2001, and 2002 for his leadership and contributions to the HVAC industry.

Moreover, Robert has been involved with the Advisory Boards of Ranken Technical College and Vatterott Tech.

Several days ago I noticed my Maytag refrigerator was getting kind of warm... I had not heard the fan running and I assumed the fan was going out because the unit is about 13 years old... I knew exactly what to do this time with this appliance. I called Hoffman Bros. and asked for expedited service, because I didn't want to have spoilage of my refrigerator items.. Jason and Matt came by... I swear the 2 of them are comedians they need to go on the road ....I even told them that.. They worked together and got my refrigerator working better probably than it has in years.. They were courteous ..They made me laugh which was the most important part of the whole visit... In this day and age it is comforting to know you can trust people who come into your home to do the job they are supposed to do... They answered all my questions they were expedient; they cleaned up everything and even wiped down my floor from water that had dripped from the bags of ice I had inside my door. Don't call anybody else.... Our time is precious and you don't want to waste your time on a no-name company... Just call Hoffman Bros. they will take care of you....I promise!!

Hoffman stopped by today. Furnace is running cold. Tech was extremely cordial. Advised that the transformer was the issue; however, the tech told me they don't have the part, so couldn't replace it. He disconnected the furnace so it's not even running. I was charged $315 for the tech to tell me they don't have my part, and they might be able to get back to me in a few days. When I asked how much it would cost to replace the transformer when he came back next, he advised over $400. I asked him how much the actual part was. I didn't really get an answer. I grabbed my computer right in front of him, and asked him the part #. When I pulled it up, the cost was approximately $25. I started laughing, and asked him if he was being serious about trying to charge me over 400 for a 25 item.... and then he tried to sell me on an upgrade. In his defense, we do need one, and will pursue that route soon. Historically, I had a membership with Hoffman in the past, and then realized that it was quite the scam - that as the customer, there really wasn't much of an actual advantage. Moving forward, I will definitely get assessments from at least 2 different companies, and possibly a third. When treating with someone, I don't like feeling that I have to minutely analyze how they're trying to screw me. I really do feel that Hoffman fits that bill. I'll edit/update this review after the next appointment, advise on any changes, and attempt to be as fair as I can.

This company installed a ""top of the line"" HVAC system and the corresponding thermostat. (I actually upsold them to a better system knowing I'd lose my existing thermostat and much functionality) The thermostat has not worked (it is a ""smart"" WIFI enabled thermostat that allows access and adjustments via web or app - at least that is how it is advertised) since the second they installed it.

Not that, after two full days onsite, they bothered to stick around for the 30 seconds to have me connect to WIFI and make sure it was fully working. I connected to WIFI with no issues after they left, within minutes, the thermostat downloaded an update proving it is connected just fine to my WIFI, but it simply will not connect to the webserver to add the system to my account / enable web/app access. After trying a couple things I emailed them, within a couple hours of install. Their initial reply was to call the manufacturer. (bear in mind I did not contract with or pay ""the manufacturer"" - I contracted with and paid Hoffman Brothers"")

Weeks have passed, I've been in communication with their ""factory rep"" who had me try 50 different things none of which have worked and haven't heard from them in two weeks today. I haven't heard a peep from Hoffman Brothers in several weeks.

Anyway, Hoffman Brothers delivered and installed a non-functional product and has taken zero ownership or responsibility for it, all the while taking what I presume to be (since they don't break out the invoice) a large profit.

Their big sales pitch is they get paid a premium because they are always there for support and you can always count on them. Don't fall for the white shirt salesman tactics - they could not possibly care less once that money hits their account.

Buyers Beware: They do have pretty good customer service when it comes to surface-level support, but once you get into it that support is all smoke and mirrors.

We got an estimate for 1650 to replace a gas valve in a furnace after paying 550 dollars for them to just come out and look at it. They refused to give us an itemized estimate on the work that would be done. They tried to get us to replace the whole unit giving us an estimate again, not itemized. The techs were very nice and I know they are just doing their jobs, but this company feels very predatory- the job they quoted me $1650 for I turned to a small family-owned STL company and they did it for $350 and had no issues with the fix.

They will also try to upsell you on a monthly membership that does nothing for you. You'd be better off shopping around for a local HVAC/ Plumber than paying triple for the same work.

I will leave it off that the folks working for the company are very nice and have always been helpful, but the prices they have compared to other companies are insane.

Great customer service! I called to set up an appointment to get more heat in one bedroom and they were able to get me on the schedule in just a few days.

There is a service call fee of $99 but it was stated this comes off any work done they do. I think this is a nice touch.

Do NOT use this company! They have left us without heat or air for a month now (in Oct & Nov), and have only returned our repeated calls after we were very assertive with customer service. They cannot or will not make the decision on what is needed because they do not want to be responsible if they are wrong. They say they can work on York equipment and the can't! All they do is call York and say York will not give them an answer. Thank you so much Hoffman Brothers for leaving us without heat or air. Never again will we be dealing with you.

The technician, Jeff, from Hoffman Brothers was timely and efficient in servicing our furnace. He figured out shortly what was wrong. It was a simple fix, no phoney baloney charges, and he explained exactly what was needed. We pay a monthly fee for twice a year cleaning, filters, and priority service. We rarely have to use the priority service but when we do it's more than worth it. We trust Hoffman And highly recommend them for all your HVAC needs!

If I could give a 0 I would.

They charged us $2700+ to replace a water heater in a townhome and their management refused to provide an itemized statement. Their staff has also said they would reach out to us to discuss but no one has and when we contact them their management won't call us back.

They completely took advantage of us and charged $1700 for 4 hours of labor and haul away.
