The original owner, Robert, is now the CEO of Hoffmann Brothers. He purchased Linton Heating & Cooling in 1988 and established Hoffmann Brothers at that time. When he took over, the company had just 4 employees; today, we have grown to over 200. Initially, Hoffmann Brothers concentrated on residential and commercial heating and cooling before diversifying into indoor air quality, geothermal, ductless systems, plumbing, water heaters, drains, sewers, appliance repair, electrical services, and more!

Robert earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri Rolla. As a registered Professional Engineer, Robert brings expertise to the company. Robert served on the board of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America and held the position of President for two years. In recognition of his leadership and contributions to the HVAC field, he received the ACCA Man of the Year award in 2000, 2001, and 2002.

Robert has also served on the Advisory Boards of Ranken Technical College and Vatterott Tech.

Have had our electrical panel, interior and exterior heating and cooling units replaced, as well as our water heater. Regular maintenance, filter replacements, and everything is running smoothly. Also recommend the Wells Fargo credit line offered, the apps pretty easy to use and it's 0% interest for a few years so you have extra time to pay off unexpected repairs which has been great.
Only negative would be the drywall work around the panel but a little putty and sanding has it fixed up.

Terrible. They gouge you for money and rarely actually fix anything. I've given them
Tens of thousands of dollars in installation and work and have been a protection plan member, and finally I've had enough. Just one week after having to pay for a service call during which nothing was fixed, they have the audacity to tell me they won't service one of the furnaces unless I pay more than I already do every month for their protection plan. This is after about a month ago someone came out to ""fix"" the heat, charged a service fee, diagnosed the problem, and then said they wouldn't fix it because they no longer work in attics. What? You installed the device six months ago and now won't service it because suddenly you don't do attics? Aren't you an hvac company? Biggest waste of money. Company should be ashamed of itself. Never again.

I contacted them a month ago about hanging a couple pendants in my kitchen in St. Louis. They promptly called to schedule time for someone to come out, and I confirmed that they'd do the job the day they came.

They came today, checked out the job, provided an estimate, and then charged a $95 ""Service fee"" despite providing no service. The tech also said I'd need to schedule the job several weeks out.

This no-service ""service fee"" isn't disclosed on their web form to request a bid, nor is it disclosed in the initial phone call to set up the appointment.

I complained, they refused to waive the fee. They made $95 today, but they lost thousands. The day I find a reliable, trustworthy electrician is the day someone (other than Hoffmann Bros) has a customer for the rest of my time running rental properties. Very poor customer experience, questionable business sense. This was completely avoidable.

I called in for my heater acting wonky this morning. Megan got me all setup and then asked if I wanted to join their membership program....I usually don't, but asked for more info to be emailed to me.
WOW!! Their membership program is awesome!! For a monthly charge, that you can cancel at anytime, the benefits are absolutely ridiculous!!
I called her back and get it all set up and paid into it.
Well my appointment for tomorrow ended up being able to be made today and then we met Kyle, our service tech!
Kyle was equally amazing as the service membership!!
He came out, put his bottles on ans came in. Confirmed what I had told Megan the issue was, guess what, my issue was somebody messed with the thermostat and had it on HOLD. We adjusted that, he could have easily sold me a new one, but didn't.
He cleaned and did whatever they do to the furnace, and showed me all along the way what he was doing and changed my filter, which they provide with the service agreement, and was out the door and away he went.
Today's wonky heater turned out to be not so bad and I gotta thank Megan and Kyle both for that.

I'd highly recommend Hoffman Brothers for anything they do at this point!!!

It's a pity one cannot leave zero stars!
Hoffmann Bros, St Louis sent a serviceman out to my condo 10.12.21 to inspect & service my HVAC system. Jesse arrived and all went well and then he explained the Hoffmann Bros 'Home Protection Plan'. In addition to a discount it was also to provide six HVAC filters and One Humidifier Filter that would be sent to my condo so that the filters could be changed every two months. It was explained that the Humidifier Filter would not be sent and would be replace by a technician twice a year. Cost of filters being what they are I decided to sign up for the Home Protection Plan.
Almost immediately I was to discover just what a sham of an operation this company is.
About two weeks later I was informed that the filters would be delivered to my condo by a runner, imagine my surprise when only three of the promised filters were delivered. Thinking it was an oversight I called Hoffmann Bros on 10.29.21 explained my concern and was promptly transferred to the Home Protection Plan Dept. I then explained my concern regarding the missing filters to the woman in charge. She then explained to me that the cost of the filters for my unit was high and that I would only be receiving three filters and that I would have to pay an additional cost for the three missing filters.
I explained that when Jesse called the Home Protection Plan from my condo he quoted them the size of the filters and then explained to me that all was good. I further explained that this is what was promised and that Hoffmann Bros should honor their claim of providing six filters.
This woman, whose name escapes me, then proceeded to tell me that I could not expect Hoffmann Bros to in-cure the additional expense of said filters. She then informed me that the filters for my condo had an additional cost and that Hoffmann Bros could not be expected to lose money on this and that if I wanted the other promised three filters then I would have to purchase them myself.
Needless to say I was completely shocked at this woman's shocking and condescending statements. I was promptly dismissed and the call was ended.
On Monday 11.01.21 I called Hoffmann Bros and explained this woman's unbelievable attitude and statements and explained that I wished to speak with one of the owners, three brothers Robert, Chris & Joe. The operator I spoke with appeared to be as shocked as I was regarding my encounter with this woman that handled the Home Protection Plan Dept. The operator explained that she would forward my concern to the owners and that one of them would contact me regarding the disrespectful treatment I received.
Two days later the same woman from the Home Protection Plan Dept. called me and ""apologized"" for the ""mis-understanding"". Then stating that the other originally promised filters would be sent to me by a runner in a few days. I simply said thank you and was promptly asked if I still wanted to speak with one of the owners, to which I replied yes. She did not sound happy but said that 'Chris' would be contacting me.
On Friday 11.5.21 I still had not heard from Chris or one of the other owners so I called Hoffmann Bros again and stated that I was told that Chris or another owner would contact me and I still had not heard for any of them. The operator explained that he would again forward my concern and have one of them contact me. I explained that I was not going to be available that day and would he please have one of the owners contact me on Monday 11.8.21. Today is Wednesday and I am still waiting to hear from one of these owners.
This company boasts about their pride and concern about providing the best possible service with the best people available via their recorded message every time you call them, talk about false advertising!
My recommendation is to stay away from this company that has such blatant disregard for it's customers!

When St. Louis was hit with a sever thunder storm back on Thursday August 12, 2021, my area was hit pretty hard. The storm generated gusty winds so intensely strong it toppled trees, caused huge limbs to break off and severed power outages throughout the city for days. The storm caused my neighbor's massive tree limb to fall onto all of my service lines and rip the electrical box off my home.

We contacted Hoffman Brother's as well as a few other electricians. Hoffman hands down displayed the BEST customer service, which profoundly stood out and separated them from their competitors. Hoffman was able to send someone out the following Monday, August 16th to survey the damages. Steven was the technician whom came out. He was timely, polite, informative and patient . He went in-depth regarding all the services needed in order to restore the power and options available, he was able to quote a price on the spot. He emailed me the details in writing and provided timely follow-ups to additional questions and concerns.

Hoffman contacted a few days later with an immediate appointment. Stephen and Ryan came out promptly at 7a.m. on Saturday morning August 21st. They worked diligently and had the power restored by 11am. Stephen even assisted me with getting the garage door back on track, he went over all the services that were completed and informed of next steps going forward.

The professionalism, respectfulness and knowledge Stephen brought to the table with every transaction and encounter was OUTSTANDING!!!!

When I say from the beginning to the very end, the entire process of working with Hoffman Brother's was completed with such ease and comfort. Hoffman Brother's provided outstanding customer service and a responsible price point with extensive coverage.

The quality of workmanship provided by Stephen & Ryan, the in-depth conversations, the products and service. Hoffman took on the responsibility of everything. They contacted Ameren once the work was completed, they came out during the inspection. I would highly recommend Hoffman Brother's and would not hesitate to use them again.

I paid for a new A/C and Heating unit it cost $7500. When the inspector came out it was failed because they didn't put in the recommend fuses. Why would you not put in the recommend fuses. So now they have to come out and fix it which will take a half hour and they have to shut my A/C off in the heat of the day. Do they make it a priority NO I am put at the end of the day on someone way home. I will never do business with this company again and I will never recommend them to anyone. Once they have your money they don't care what happens. If I could give them a negative rating I would.

After 2 appointments and $95 I am right where I started.

I called Hoffman because I have a weird refrigerator and could not find a replacement for the gasket on my freezer. I gave them the product information and the tech showed up without a replacement gasket or replacement freezer door. He, instead, suggested that the problem was that I needed to thaw out the freezer completely. Of course, this was ill advised and after a second appointment they finally looked up the info that I gave them from the beginning and determined that they could not fix the issue. I was informed that, even though I told them I wanted the gasket replaced, that the $95 was for the technician's time. If Hoffman is paying their techs $95 per hour to hand out quality advice like ""thaw out your freezer"" then sign me up.

At best, Hoffman was just too lazy to do their research before my appointment. At worse, they knew they couldn't fix my issue and sent a tech to justify charging me $95.

I contacted Hoffman Brothers about replacing a broken dryer belt. I called on a Friday and they said they could come the following Thursday. I gave them the model number, serial number, make and told them I had the control panel, heat shield and the broken belt removed. I asked what time they would arrive and they said they would contact me when they were on their way. I waited from 7 am until 1:30 pm when I had to leave for work. In that time I received 2 text messages that said they were busy with other customers but would keep me posted and go about my day as normal. I had to have a friend stay to wait for them. After they had left I was informed the tech arrived, looked at the broken belt and said ""you need your drive belt replaced"". He said he didn't have one so he would have to order one and it would take 4 days to get it. Mind you, this is 6 days after I told them it was a broken belt and gave them the model number. They also listed a charge of $95 for the visit (to say your belt is broken), $61 for the belt and $175 for labor I believe, I had 60% of the labor complete. I called right away to find out why they had not ordered the belt prior and the gentleman I spoke with said he would look into and that should not have happened and he would get back to me. I sent a follow up email and the response I got was you can cancel and get a refund so I did. I ordered the belt from Sears for $13 and it took me 12 minutes to put it on and reassemble the dryer completely. What they didn't tell me was I would not get refunded the $95 for the useless information that my belt was broken. Very poor business management, terrible scheduling of appointments, price gouging on parts and poor planning. The fact they kept $95 for making me wait 7.5 hours and spent a total of 10 minutes is a real shame. Never EVER will I use them for anything in the future.
