I cannot say better things about Hoffman Refrigeration!!! I called them today very stressed and overheated as I am pregnant with twins. It got up to 90 degrees in our condo and we needed service fast! The owner Shannon was able to get a service repair man out quickly and fixed our unit quickly and professionally. We recommend their services to friends and family on the regular.

Constantly calls my cell phone and when I answer, the caller says nothing for several moments before hanging up. I called the number back. The older gent said, ""Oh, I have no idea why that happened,"" but it has happened every day around the same time for a couple weeks. They are cold calling looking for business. They don't do their research though. I just got a brand new unit, literally a few months ago, and my neighbor works for the company I've been using for 20+years.

Add to the list of: cold calling me for no good reason. A red flag should go up if a service company needs to cold call - they are getting desperate for business or cannot rely on the positive ""word of mouth"" that comes from doing GENUINE good service to sustain their business. The company we now use offered a special deal years ago through SRP; they performed well then & have ever since.

The service technician (Brandon) took the time to explain, show pictures, make recommendations in a manner that was easily understood. They go above and beyond to accommodate ...excellent communication from the office, to the techs, to the owner. Reliable, informative and courteous..., very much appreciated !

Had a problem with my 12 year old a/c unit. Called Hoffman Refrigeration as a referral from a friend. They were prompt with service, courteous and professional. They fitted my house with an American Standard.(Traine) The installers were great and the unit is fantastic. The old unit ran constantly and cooled poorly. This unit cools the house great and hardly run. I expect to save lots of energy with my 19 seer new American Standard.
Liked the first unit so well that we installed a second unit for the other half of the house. You can count on Hoffman to do a great job!

Got a call 6 months ago, told them to call back I had just had some service done & wasn't too sure about the company I had used. They called last night & scheduled for today a 23 point check up which costs 49.99. I told them I was concerned with my venting. It doesn't seem even throughout the house. The man on the phone said no problem that's part of the 23 point check up.
Tech showed up on time which was good.
Tech walked in looked at my unit & said I was screwed. My coils were so clogged up he couldn't do a worthy inspection without a cleaning. Which would COST... so I said just give me the estimate for the new system they were touting on the phone the night before. He look around, looked under the house. Said okay a guy will be out on Friday to finish up the estimate...but he's thinking 7000 & they can finance. I said okay thanks. He charged me 49.99.
So I got the look around check up for 49.99 after he said my system sucked so bad there was no way to check it.
My main concern was the vents anyway but the tech tells me that is not part of the check up & there really is no way to check because my system was so clogged.
I'll let you do decide whether they are good or not.
I got a surprise for them if they want to come out on Friday!

I received a very nice email from the company & I wouldn't be fair if I didn't add it to my critique of their services. It changes nothing that happens but shows a company willing to fix any errors in their service. I bump my rating up 2 stars for that.

I would like to send our lead technician out to you - at no additional cost - to go over everything with your system again and to correctly address your ventilation issues. Although a dirty and plugged evaporator coil can cause airflow issues, it is not the only potential cause, and I want you to feel confident that you received a fair inspection and a complete and accurate picture of your units condition. Hoffman was recommended to us by a trusted source, and turned out to be as good as billed. Having bought a 1980-built house, it needs updating and has many quirks. The A/C system is no exception. The technician, James, was professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. It helped that he really likes his job. He took his time to diagnose a particularly unusual problem we had with the A/C wiring (James nor our other contractor had ever seen this one before!). He determined what the problem was, how to fix it, and was back the next day to do the work in under an hour. Overall, a great experience.

Do not use them! They broke my A/C system when they came to do a ""23 point"" inspection then tried to get me for the repair to get my AC back up in the middle of summer. I have 3 small kids and they smelt bad.

STOP CALLING ME UNSOLICITED! Apparently they do not know what a ""Do Not Call List"" is. How would I trust them to know how to do HVAC work?

The unsolicited calls are not only making me angry, but they are decietfull as well!!!! They are CONFUSING elderly and dont even bother to correct themselves or clear up the misunderstanding! My auntie, although only in her late 60's, was called - UNSOLICITED - and the girl talked quick so in a way it sounded like she says HACKNEY Air; a company our family has used for over 30 years, generationally! So my auntie says ""Hackney? Oh yes yes! It is that time!"" and my auntie made the appointment and the girl didn't bother to affirm she was with Hoffman! How disgusted we were when Hoffman showed up!

We bought an older house last year with a new air conditioner which, before the summer months start, thought it wise to have it checked out. Erin from Hoffman arrived on time, worked efficiently and actually stayed after service to answer all my questions regarding the unit of which I knew nothing about (it's not a Trane or any other major name brand). Erin was able to tell me what to look for with this unit with regards to what normally wears out / needs attention etc. He wasn't selling me a thing but really educated me on some of the differences in these units. While I knew this unit was installed just to help the prior owners sell this house, it's good to know what I can expect and plan for in the future. When you have somewhat inferior brands, I know w you can make them work for awhile but it's good to have knowledge as to what and when to expect issues etc. Wonderful, knowledgeable people that clearly value me as a customer.
