Finding a good plumber is like finding a good barber; you have to suffer through a bunch of bad haircuts (or bad plumbing jobs) before you find one you can stick with. Rich is a plumber you can trust in and one who will give you an honest assessment. Going on strong reviews on yelp and google, I called to ask for help on water meter coupling replacement. He actually first declined the work saying that it should be the water company's responsibility which I agreed with and I went back and forth with the water company. Eventually, it turned out to be the homeowner's responsibility, so I called him back and he did the work in about an hour on a couple days' notice. He responds directly to texts on his phone and comes on time. Most importantly, there was no outrageous service fee to just take a look at the issue, just like it used to be. Call these guys and don't suffer through anymore bad haircuts.

We developed a leak in the 1/2 bath in our basement. I called Rich and texted our problem and told him it was a secondary toilet and not an emergency. Even though he and his employees were tied up with a great many frozen pipe problems, he sent Paul the next morning. Paul fixed the problem and the bill was very reasonable. Definitely a good experience.

These guys at Hoffman Plumbing have saved me now - TWICE. I live in a wooded area where roots get into my pipes. The first time it happened time I called AJ Perri using their $99 pipe-clearing guarantee. The guy from AJ Perri spent 1/2 a day here and opened the pipe to a trickle and considered that meeting the 'guarantee'. He wanted to set up a ""camera appointment"" for which their office does a hard sell (check their reviews for lots of detail on THAT).

Anyway, I then got a referral to Rich from a friend, and he responded right away and completely cleared the pipe after a much shorter period. Fast forward 1 1/2 years and here I am with a major backup from the upstairs bathroom to the kitchen to the laundry room. Rich returned my call within 3 MINUTES and sent a crew first thing in the morning. His crew, Paul and Dan, were efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. It did take a few hours, but they got the job done and the price was fair and reasonable.

I can't give these guys a good enough recommendation. Tere are a lot of scammers out there and we constantly have to be on the lookout. Rich Hoffman and his crew live by the credo of a great service for reasonable pay and as a result they deserve their excellent reputation. If you need plumbing or HVAC work, you cannot go wrong with these guys.

Rich came to my house because my steam pipe for my boiler had rusted a whole and was leaking in several spot. He was not feeling well and in fact left the hospital and came right over. He came back the next day with his team and did the job. Very professional and gave me tips to keep my boiler running smoothly. Best plumber ever.

I had a plumbing emergency recently. I contacted Rich and explained the situation. He quoted me a basic price and agreed to come over ASAP.
He arrived an hour later and took care of the dirty situation. Rich and his helper were a pure pleasure to deal with.

After all was said and done, Rich kept to his original quote.

I called Hoffman Plumbing as his name was given to me by a friend who gave him some rave reviews. I hired him to come to unclog my drain. After a week the sink began to back up again. I called him twice left messages message and he NEVER up to today has not returned my calls. Meanwhile I called another plumber who charged me $50. less than Hoffman and he cleaned the main pipe leading to the clogged sink. I told the plumber that Hoffman said that he snaked 35 feet. His reply was if he did do that he would have been out to the sewer. It has been a month now and my sink works perfectly. The clog was in the main sink pipe on the lower level all he did was clean the sink pipe. He did not have the courtesy t return my calls nor did he stand by his work. He charged enough for nothing!! A dissatisfied former customer.

I hired Hoffman Plumbing to do some plumbing work for my salon. I needed two hair washing sinks installed, a washer/dryer hookup and a new hot water heater installed.
Rich responded quickly via phone and text. He was easy to do business with. When we first met he came with a worker, I forget her name (sorry), but she was great. She was super friendly and complimentary of the new space that looked a mess at the time. But she saw my vision and I appreciated her enthusiasm. (Sometimes opening a business can be overwhelming and I needed the encouragement)
Throughout the entire process I met a few different workers and they were all polite and friendly. And did a good job.
The price was fair and I appreciated that.
My first complaint was I wish the ""floor sinks"" (for hair washing sinks) would have been explained to me a little more. I don't particularly love them, would of liked to hear a different option.
2nd complaint, when it was crunch time and the inspectors were coming I did have to follow up more often to push the process along. I was afraid it wouldn't be done in time for inspection, he had it all under control the whole time. But I wish he would have explained that so that I wouldn't have been worrying.
Overall, I would definitely use him again and would recommend using him to others.
