I have been a member of HOCOA for the past three years. I am surprised how often I have used their service. I have been totally happy with every contractor they hooked me up with. I have called them for plumbing, handymen, garage door repair, hot water heater repair and more. Each time i have gotten courteous and timely service at a fair rate. I also used them for a referral for new flooring. I got a killer floor at killer prices.

My lit up business sign went out and while I was trying to figure out if the installation was under warranty, Sam was ready with with an electrician immediately. I have been a member of HOCOA for about a year now and I first used them a few months ago for some handyman work. They were able to put me in touch with Al who came out quickly and was able to completely the job promptly. I called them again for trees that I wanted cut down, (because of the recent fires) they were able to get two people to call me back same day and met with me. We ended up going with the first guy because he could start that week. Both gave competitive bids. I have been so impressed with them that we are going to call them for our kitchen remodel. They are able to get us wholesale pricing on the materials alone!

After calling several plumbers and drain services early this week, (and having one simply fail to show up!), I finally broke down and signed up for HOCOA a few days ago. WOW! What a difference! I had a slow drain, and a faucet that needed to be installed. The drain guys called immediately, showed up early, were fast, friendly, efficient and fair. The plumber HOCOA sent to me was on time, clean, and all of the above to boot. All I had to do was call Sam and tell him what I needed. Done.

What people don't usually measure is their own time, so if you have to call three or four services to get something done, you spend hours of your own time, and you still risk getting the one that flubs up the job. HOCOA takes all of that out of your hands, and puts vetted people on your doorstep with just one call.

I actually hold two California contractor's licenses, and certainly I know how to get these things done. But, what I also know is the importance of my own time and stress level. The value of having things just 'handled' with one phone call is so much more than the minimal monthly or annual membership it's just a complete no-brainer.

We had a stucco repair job on an exterior step. HOCAA sent Gary Gonzales for the repair. Gary and his assistant got to the root of the problem and did a professional repair at a reasonable cost entailing replacement of the rotten wood causing the problem. Would use HOCAA again.
