I had an ac unit leaking on a neighbor below me and HL Bowman charged me $325 to snake a pipe to fix it. It had to be fixed right away as I did not want to cause damage to my neighbor. My plumber told me it should not have cost more than $125 to snake the pipe. I am pissed off at having to pay so much and will not use this company which took over my previous AC/Heating company without notice again. They also are from Pennsylvania.....what are they doing in Charlotte?

HL Bowman did a great job installing my furnace and AC system. I was so impressed that I referred them to 3 of my neighbors. They all went with Bowman.

Josh arrived to service our AC System prepping it for the spring and summer months...

He found a few age related issues and made recommendations for repair...

He took care of all issues in a timely manner... The service did not cost me an arm and a leg...

Most impressive...

HL Bowman has worked on our system in past and their efforts have kept our AC/Heating system going; thus avoiding any major problems...

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HL Bowman for AC/Heating Systems maintenance and/or repairs...

I don't know what is going on with this business.

I needed a gas fireplace cleaned and inspected. When I called, I was pretty sure I was talking to some AI bot, who said she could book as early as tomorrow.

Fast-forward two days, and I called to schedule after solidifying some details. The same bot tells me they don't service gasfireplaces.

I say, that's strange. I just talked to you two days ago, but there was apparently no record of my phone call.

I waited about two minutes, while researching online, where it definitely says they service gas fireplaces... I called back and now she wants to get my information to schedule.

Stuff like this is completely ridiculous and not at all customer friendly. I'm going with another company.

I called because we had a leak under our kitchen sink and mentioned that we had a questionable garbage disposal install the previous year that possibly could be the problem. It was explained that there would be a fee for an estimate, which would be deducted from the repair bill if they were given the repair job. They came back to repair it, uninstalled and reinstalled the disposal but didn't look any further for a cause for which they charged almost $500 and refused to deduct the estimate fee. A week later it was still leaking so I called them back explaining my dissatisfaction. I was assured the second repair call would be no charge. The same tech came back with better lighting and found that our faucet was leaking. He estimated an additional $600 to take out the old one and install a new one, and if I bought a faucet from them it would cost over $1200 total. They did refund me for the estimate charge, but in the end we never got anything for our money. We still have a leak. We are retired and my husband is physically unable to do the work, which is why they were called. I believe they grossly overcharge customers and try to hook them in to paying for service plans, offering to give them a discount on their bloated prices. Take my advice and don't call them unless you can afford to throw money away.

I had regular maintenance done on my furnace and the technician said there was a fracture in the heat exchanger. The technician only showed me a picture and did not have me look at the live view from his camera and/or show me other evidence to suggest a crack. HL Bowman said a replacement part would be over $4k vs getting a new furnace for $5k.

I decided to get second opinion/estimate and the technician had me stay with him the whole time during his inspection and there was no signs of a fracture on his camera and doing a combustion test.

HL Bowman lost a customer.

These guys must be manipulating their Google reviews because they're very highly rated. My old AC died in the summer, so I was in a bind due to the temperature and they were the only company to get back to me quickly. Tech came out, said I needed a new AC unit and sales you can come later that day. Fun fact, their sales guys have a ridiculous title like ""comfort specialist"" or something. Anyway, sales guy (Bob, I think?) shows up, sells me on a new AC and furnace. Techs come to install it a few days later. Bob forgot to include in his notes some installation instructions like remove the old stand and level the ground and place a pad for the AC unit. So the installation guys are out there trying to put this much larger AC unit on this tiny stand from the old unit. They finally asked for permission to just set it on the ground, which should've been in their notes from Bob. Fast forward to when they were finished with the installation and they left a freakin mess in my basement. Bob also messed up the financing paperwork so I had to deal with several phone calls from the lending company until that was all straightened out because he forgot to include the money down on the financial paperwork. Now fast forward to the winter and my brand new furnace that was installed with the AC unit stops working are we only a few months! A guy comes to repair the furnace under warranty and asks if I had HL Bowman do the fall service on it. I say no, it's new! He says the service should be done anyway, but not to worry he will order a replacement part and do the fall service when he comes back to put the part in. Fast forward a week, he's back to install the new part. Puts it in quick and I ask if he also did the fall service. He says ""no, you don't need that when it's only 6 months old and I don't do those anyway.""

I recently had a plumbing issue discovered by myself when a new washer was delivered I had a leaky valve on my cold water feed to the washer your person named Mitch came out took pictures quoted me $900 Plus saying that a bunch of stuff had to be done to repair the leak. I explained to him that I was a senior citizen and I could not afford a $900 repair bill so he kept the line and told me it would have to be repaired at the tune of $900.. my neighbor gave me the name of a gentleman that works on plumbing pretty much a jack of all trades. He offered to come on Friday but since the line was capped I just said well if if it's not going to cost any extra could you come tomorrow being Saturday. This gentleman came out fixed the problem charged me $170. So I guess my question is why did a $900 repair that your employee quoted me or is this just a rip-off? This being said I have rental property and I will never call HL Bowman again I had to pay Mitch $257.51 to come out Cap the water line. I'm obviously very very disappointed in your service . I will never refer your business to any of my friends or actually anybody that wants to listen this this was an actual robbery. As an afterthought everything that your man quoted me which would have I guess cost me $900 Plus the second gentleman came out and said none of that would be needed I just needed a new valve on the on the water feed so really disappointed folks

If i could leave 0 stars i would. This company is so crooked. I had them install an air conditioner and they lied about the cost of the product. Did a bait and switch. Them they gave me year of free maintenance. The technician came to my house. Was disrespectful of my time and quoted me 4400 of work needed. Received a 2nd and 3rd assessment and spoke with my brother in law who knows HVAC and conferred that much of what they recommended was bogus. The service technician really pushy

We have two homes on the same property and scheduled HVAC & plumbing services for both.
Long story short.... didn't show up for scheduled appt at house #1..
Sent tech to house #2 completed service. Then sent another tech to house #2 again (on the same day -1 hr. apart!) and serviced the same house again!
Two scheduled appts and have yet to have them show up at the correct house, on the correct day at the scheduled time!!
We purchased a service contract for both homes ( $300-400.00) and had estimates done for numerous projects. It's been over 2 weeks and we still have not received a call back..( we have talked to the receptionist personally and left messages with her asking for a manager to contact us).
We highly recommend you don't purchase a service contract, let alone schedule services with this company. It will lead to nothing but frustration.
