Our company delivers remodeling services for homes and businesses, covering everything from simple repairs to full renovations. This encompasses painting both inside and outside, drywall installation and plastering, framing, trim, and the installation of doors and windows, tile installation and flooring, decks and fencing.

As a family-owned business since 2005. We cater to the Northwest side of Chicago, the nearby suburbs, and Southern Wisconsin.

Our journey began in 2005 with a focus on the Chicago region. Over the years, we relocated to the Wauconda/Island Lake area and currently serve the broader northwest suburbs of Chicago, including the northwest side of Chicago and southern Wisconsin. We pride ourselves on delivering top-notch service with honesty and integrity.

Richard Ballasch is the owner and operator of His Workmanship. His background includes years of experience and training in the building and refinishing sectors, having developed his skills in diverse materials and environments.

He has 7 years of experience as an auto painter at a prestigious auto body shop in Chicago, where he was certified to paint luxury brands like Lexus, Mercedes, Porsche, Audi, and Volkswagen.

He subsequently shifted his refinishing talents to leather and wood. He spent a decade at a top leather refinishing firm in Chicago. He managed operations, handled service calls, delivered furniture, and trained others in the craft of refinishing luxury leather items. His work has been featured in media, film, and print publications.

He chose to launch his own business in 2005 to apply his skills in remodeling.
