Hi did really good work and fir the first part of the project I had good experiences with him but then he never was in contact to finish the work. He kept scheduling and canceling and then eventually just quit communicating with me. I asked specifically if my job was too small and he was too busy could he just let me know. He didn't and I kept waiting - and reaching out and I finally gave up an moved on. I was very disappointed. All he had to do is say I'm too busy, and I would have moved on but also know I could call him back in the future. Now I dont trust his reliability.

Beware of a contractor named Ron Rose of Bluffton. He is unreliable, gets a deposit and never shows up. He did do a decent job originally on some flooring installation, but he is always short of cash and asks for loans which makes it a very uncomfortable situation. The last time he agreed to do some painting but never showed up. Foolishly I gave him a $200 deposit and now he claims does not have the money to repay me. Stay away from Ron Rose. He's one of these guys who talks a lot, but just can't seem to deliver on his promises.

My original review of 5 stars for Hilton Head Handyman that I posted last week was just based on my initial interaction with the owner Rick Bono. Rick completed the work and based on the results, his pricing and his responsiveness and professionalism I would give this guy a rating of 10 stars if Yelp allowed it!

EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS--AND EVERY TIME Let me start out by saying that my expectations are low here on Hilton Head. That's not to diminish the aforementioned statement in any way, but I've lived in 8 states and have never been in a place so """"infested"""" by semi-con artist contractors as here. If anything, at a minimum, they gouge customers as if we are all multi-millionaires. I digress. Rob is as obsessed with perfection as any contractor I've ever worked with. He recently completed his third project for me--this time, a more serious remodel that included adding a 1/2 bathroom and renovating an office to include built-in bookshelves. """"Handyman"""" is a good word for him, as he is skilled in a multitude of fields to include: electrical, general construction, plumbing, carpentry, flooring installation, and the lost art of drywall taping. As part of this project included all of the above. It is RARE for a contractor to be """"bothered"""" by some slight imperfection rather than the homeowner, but that has been the case all along. He is honest (so much so, I've left the house to him alone on many occasions), fairly accurate in his estimates, and detailed oriented. Because of his diverse background (that to include real estate), he has an """"eye"""" for what """"flows"""" during a remodel and what does not. Unless his schedule conflicts greatly with my next or any future project, I will use him for all of the above specialties exclusively. Don't waste your time hunting down a rare find on Hilton Head. While I am sure there are a few, it will take excessive time to find them out.

I called to see about a few jobs that needed doing. I was not disappointed, as the people he recommended were excellent, reasonable and very easy to work with. I would definitely use him again.

Recommend highly for timely, courteous and competent service. Our dishwasher and garbage disposal circuit was causing popping within the circuit board when either appliance ran. Left a message midday on Thursday, and Rick returned my call within the hour. He sent me contact information for electrician that could diagnose and fix the issue by end of day Friday. Colton, the electrician, was able to fit us in the next day and to solve our issue on Friday by early afternoon. Will definitely use this service again.

Rick Bono and his helper installed Arndt & Herman model Excel Attic Stairs I bought at Espy Lumber in Okatie, SC. Once I had the right size stairs, I had a very tight swing radius, Rick installed and finished the unit in less than 2 hours. Very pleased with the service and the results.

Rick came over and fixed a couple of electrical outlets for me. It wasn't a big job but it was important to me. Rick was very personable and he seemed very knowledgeable in that he knew what the problem was right away. He explained what was wrong with the GFI outlet and how it had interfered with the other two outlets that needed repair. He took care of everything quickly and efficiently. I will definitely call him back if I have any other electrical issues in the house.

I had Rob come over to give us an estimate for installing a ceiling fan in the master bedroom. He provided a clear and detailed estimate for that and a bunch of other work that we came up with as well. He gave very honest feedback on how long he thought this would take and set our expectations properly. He was able to start the job that day and by the end of the day we had a beautiful ceiling fan installed. As usual in our condo, not everything went as planned but Rob was able to troubleshoot each issue that came up and get to a solution. When he is discussing the work that he is going to be doing, he gives the impression that he knows what he is doing and then when he does the work he actually DOES know what he is doing. We have other work that we need to do, and we will be using his services again and would not hesitate to recommend him to others.

I found Hilton Head Handyman while searching craigslist for an affordable painter. I needed to have my rental property ready ASAP. I was pleased that he was also able to fix a few electrical issues as well. The quality of work was exceptional and everything was completed right on time. I recommended his services to my mom and she was equally happy. I will use his services again, and highly recommend others to, as well!
