I've had Hillard Plbg and Heating, and A/C on two occasions. He was prompt and courteous and professional. Very thorough in testing and troubleshooting the problems and made repairs quickly. Always stayed and made sure the systems went through a cycle to ensure proper operation. I wouldn't hesitate and have referred him to family and friends.

This is a very dishonest, unprofessional, and unethical business. Work was done on our kitchen sink by Bob and 4 valves were incorrectly installed with a makeshift permanent solder to the dishwasher line that caused the sink to constantly overload back into the dishwasher and on to the floor. This caused the dishwasher to break as well as limiting our ability to use our sink. I spent weeks reaching out to Bob via email, telephone, voicemail, and reaching out to the sellers of the home who initially hired him but was unable to get a response. We had two plumbers from our HWA and a dishwasher technician inspect the area and all of them documented the cause as improperly installed valves. Since we could not elicit a response from Bob we ended up paying another plumbing company out of pocket to replace the valves that Bob installed incorrectly so that we could proceed to have our dishwasher installed, as the dishwasher tech could not install the new machine until the plumbing under the sink was fixed. I filed a BBB complaint with against Hillard Plumbing - this was followed by his first response in this matter in the form of a long winded text to my personal cell demanding that I retract my complaint or that he will sue me, and denying doing the work under the sink even though I have an itemized receipt from him, with images he took accompanying it, and his name as the listed tech on the receipt. Beware - perhaps he was once a reputable plumber but he may be too senile now to interact with the public. I since told him off and cussed him out but no amount of middle fingers thrown will get us our money back from Hillard's corner cutting. I Have attached an image of the whacky solderd valve he made that was the main issue that destroyed our dishwasher, the itemized receipt from Hillard showing they did in fact work under the sink and replace those valves, and the wild text message he finally sent me telling me he didn't do the work(?) and threatening to sue me...

Called home serve, called me right away, came right on time the next morning. Bob was very friendly and courteous, worked very hard to fix my problem on a brutally hot day. Working with an ancient water line he came up with a good way to repair it. I was totally happy with his service and will definitely ask for him again should I need any more repairs.

I initially found Bob Hillard through a Dominion Services (now Home Serve) call some years ago. He is and has been my go to guy for plumbing/heating since then. I would recommend him without reservation! He is very knowledgeable, professional, courteous and reasonable! I always request him for any Home Serve calls, etc.. The best!!

Hillard Plumbing came to me literally through the luck of the draw. When my sewer line failed (causing the yard to sink and considerable damage to the street), Hillard Plumbing was assigned to me by the insurance company (after 7 other plumbers they assigned either said there was no problem or didn't want to do the job).

Within 5 minutes of talking to Bob Hillard, I knew I'd found the guy to do the job. He has over 40 years of experience as a master plumber (in fact, he actually used to teach the master plumber course), and not only did he show a desire to take on the job, you could almost see his mind turning over possible solutions as he took stock of my situation.

After considerable and thorough review, he recommended a sewer liner, a flat, resin-based product, which is inserted, inflated, and cured right inside the pipe. The resin hardens to a tensile strength which exceeds even that of PVC, and effectively completely seals the pipe with a single, continuous, smooth, flexible surface. It even eliminated a small dip I had in the line.

Bob made my experience as seamless as the liner itself, as he ran all the interference with the insurance company, the subcontractor that installed the liner, and the city departments that oversee sewage issues, as well as street issues.

When it came to the considerable undermining in my yard and on the street, once the sewer line was repaired Bob opened up the street and back-filled everything tight as a drum, and then finished the street with concrete.

At every step in the process, Bob kept me completely in the loop, and worked hard to keep costs in line as much as possible. In the final analysis, he saved me a considerable amount of money by proposing the sewer liner, which repaired the sewer without having to dig up the yard (up to a depth of 16 feet ... just think about that!). And after reading about the sewer liner technology online, I am convinced that the liner solution provides a superior result to a traditional sewer line repair.

I am limited to only 5 stars here, but if I could, I'd give him 10. I give Bob Hillard Plumbing my highest recommendation. He's as good as it gets both in expertise and professionalism. I consider myself to be extraordinarily fortunate to have gotten him for my job.

I heard about Hillard plumbing through a friend that was renting from but had no personal experience with him. Needless to say it was a mistake, what I thought would be a easy fix, I assumed turned into a costly and drawn out ordeal. I ended up having to fully replace my water heater because he didn't know what he was doing really. I would never recommend his services. BEWARE PITTSBURGH!
