Recommended Customer Reviews
I originally had High 5 out to replace a tankless water heater about a year ago. I was thrilled with their work and communication. Thus I signed up for the one year contract.
Unfortunately it has gone down hill quickly from there. Each time they have come out, they have, in my opinion, recommended exorbitantly priced solutions to problems that by logical means don't really exist.
An example, would be when they did a plumbing inspection, they recommended replacing main valves in the house at a cost of $2509. This is a newer home, and the current valves that are in place have not shown any deterioration and are up to code. When I later checked in, they agreed the current valves were up to code, but that they recommended a different kind of valve for ""peace of mind"" as the plumber liked that kind of valve better.
They have been out two more times in addition to that visit, and each time, they recommend multi thousand dollar repairs for ""peace of mind"". Their model for us has clearly been one where to me the technician seemed required to write up three estimates for ""peace of mind"", ""middle of the road"", and ""basic"". I have only used them for a bit over a year, but this has been consistently the case.
No other company I have used for HVAC and Plumbing has done anything similar. Also, each time, the technician has presented the information in a way that, for me, felt like they were indicating that I really should do what I feel turned out to be unnecessary work. To me, it comes across as pushy and underhanded.
Scheduled well in advance for a same-day appointment. Company called me and texted me multiple times to make the appointment and confirm the appointment. Scheduled technician did not make it for the four hour window. Notified after the window expired. Poor scheduling.
More interested in upselling their service plans than diagnosing what's really going on. Cost is almost double anyone else in the market. shop around or overpay!!!! I tried them twice with similar results. I asked them to call
Me so I could share my experience. They text only
Buyer be wear!
Fast, a very very friendly, great communication, quick to dispatch, arrived on time, provided estimate before starting work, and then did a great job. If you're looking for the best service and repair, you'll be happy with High Five. Prices are a little higher than the competition but worth it.
a year ago they were great when they installed a $4k water heater. was told 1 year membership would be on the house. well that was actually another$200 charge. getting them to come out for the hvac, furnace, etc ever since has been a struggle. they either cancel at the last minute or wait for me to find out status and tell me they have to reschedule. takes 3 times before they actually get out. If your not spending big money, they treat you as a non important customer. they lost out on a brand new hvac because of this attitude. thank goodness my water heater is under manufacture warranty. my service techs have not deserved a high figh at the end. encountered the same issues when my work used these people as well.
Only call High 5 Plumbing if you want to see your money spent for marketing for fancy truck decals, fake Yeti mugs and a bunch of hard candies because their plumbing services is beyond terrible. Over 7 weeks AND 13 visits, we were intermittently subjected to gas leaks, water leaks, no hot water, no heat and error codes on our tankless water heater. They took advantage of the fact that we're living with 2 teenagers with no hot water and no heat by continuously up-charging me. During this time, we were charged an extra $1900 over the original estimate of $4000. All of the issues were because they failed to recognize that my existing venting didn't match the new unit (even though they added to the venting) and because they didn't provide drain piping to manufacture recommendations. I ended up ""chatting"" with the manufacturer and showing them screenshots to prove the venting was wrong. They offered me money back and then rescinded the offer as the problems they should have caught just continued. They said they could have offered a cleaning crew only when I complained that the carpet was a mess and had already cleaned it up myself. When I asked to speak to the owner/CO DORA license holder, Levi Torres, I was told Levi ""doesn't take phone calls"". Clearly, he only takes your money and wastes your time.
I installed three Ecobee smart thermostats and my boiler was no longer responding or heating the house. I was contacted and given an appointment the next day. Bucky called when he was on his way and arrived during the communicated window. He quickly and thoroughly diagnosed the issue, which was electrical. He stayed at the house and prepped the necessary equipment while the part was delivered to our door. He not only installed the controller but he cleaned up a rats nest of wiring that was previously installed at the solenoids and made sure the boiler was in proper working order. He then walked me through the functionality of the controller and demonstrated it was working, making sure I knew how it operated prior to leaving. Very thorough!
Chrys P.I called High 5 Plumbing for what I believed would be a quick fix -- a common plumbing issue that should've taken about 15 minutes. Instead, I was quoted an unexpectedly high price for a full replacement of a part that didn't need replacing.
The technician made it seem like the repair was urgent and that if I didn't fix it that day, I'd be facing bigger problems. But after doing some research and speaking to another plumber, it's clear that wasn't the case at all.
It didn't feel like the tech was trying to help me solve a small issue -- it felt more like a high-pressure sales pitch to upsell me on unnecessary work. I understand that plumbing is a skilled trade (and I'm sure the owner will respond to this review defending the time, training, and experience required), but that's not the point. What I expected was a fair, fiduciary recommendation -- not an inflated quote for a simple issue.
Disappointed with the experience and would caution others to get a second opinion before agreeing to any major work with High 5 Plumbing.
Tech was on time. Friendly and wore booties to protect the floor. Fixed the problem in 1 hour. Had his own truck to cut pipe so no mess in the house.
Andy G.Contacted them to get a quote for an EV charger install. They came out and tried to upsell - a panel refresh, a whole house surge protector, their ""High 5 Club Membership"", etc. Their price was higher than several other quotes; and then they proceeded to spam my mailbox with promotional material.
None of the other providers quoted anything but the work I asked for.
