In 2019, I hired Mike Hickey for plumbing and gas fitting job of a big gut renovation. He always took 1/2 the money in advance, and the rest half way through the job, so was always paid in full. Without consulting me or my contractor, he ripped up finished dining room floors and incorrectly drew venting below a planned deck, contrary to code. My contractor and I pleaded with Mike for weeks to fix this and he refused. So we hired another plumber and it cost us $7,500 to repair the floors and redo the venting correctly. 7 months later Hickey sued me for $6,500, even though he was paid in full, and this frivolous law suit is still ongoing 5 years later! Beware of this plumber.

I wasn't getting any hot water at the shower - everywhere else in the house but not the tub. Likely culprit was the Moen PosiTemp cartridge. No problem I can fix that! I went to HD and bought the cartridge, came home and tried to remove the old one. It. Did. Not. Budge. I ended up trying to rip the thing out for about an hour, but it was so corroded it had basically fused with the faucet. It was about 4pm and I started to panic. I had gotten myself into a situation. I couldn't get the shower control piece back on, which meant if I turned the water back on it was going to spray everywhere - basically an open tap. I looked up a Waltham plumber with some good reviews and called Hickey's Plumbing. Michael answered. He understood the problem and said he would be there within the hour. He was true to his word he was there in 40 min. Michael and the guy he was working with were there when I needed help, they saw the problem and immediately fixed it so I could turn the water back on, then he ordered the shower fixture and said as soon as it came in he would be back to install it. True to his word, he did just that. Both Michael and his assistant plumber were fast and professional. Great plumber.

We first got to know Michael at Hickey's plumbing during a bathroom renovation when our contractor used them for all of the plumbing needs for the project. We readily say that Hickey's plumbing was the best part of the entire project as it was clear that Michael and his team not only provide first class work, but also care about their clients and their needs. We have since used Hickey's plumbing for a few other projects including a full boiler replacement this winter and they continue impress with their professionalism, quality, and integrity. I recommend them without hesitation.

Mike Hickey answers his phone, is prompt, and does great work. What else can you ask for? We've hired him for adding baseboard heat, extending a gas line, and a bathroom plumbing remodel. The jobs were done on time and were of high quality. I highly recommend his company, and will definitely call him next time we need a plumber for anything. Don't waste any time, just trust me and call Mike first!

This is the second time I've used Hickey's Plumbing and Heating and again, I was very happy with their service.

The first time I called because my regular plumber said he couldn't help for 3 WEEKS. I had never worked with Hickey's Plumbing but they had good reviews so I gave them a call. I spoke with Mike and he and Clarence were there to help in less than an hour. They fixed everything that day. They were very honest about what needed to be fixed and I was surprised by how reasonable they were with pricing.

The day before yesterday my heating system stopped working completely. (Different house than the first time) Two days before Thanksgiving. We called them that morning and Mike was again, at my house within an hour. He was very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining what he thought was wrong and what parts we'd need. He got one part that morning and rather than waiting for the second one to come in, he tried to see if the system would kick back on with just one new part to try to save us some money. It turned out we needed the second part and a major clean out of our boiler. Without getting into too much detail, our heating system was a disaster and Mike got it up and running again.

I think any other plumber would have thrown in the towel and just told us to get a new boiler. Mike did everything in his power to avoid us having no heat over the holiday and having to purchase a new boiler.

And after all of the time it took for him to fix it, we still got a very reasonable bill. I highly recommend these guys!!

We called Mike Hickey on two occasions. He personally answers the phone. Both times, he got to the house very quickly (the next morning and within an hour). The first time I called, he walked me through several trouble-shooting steps before even getting my name. Mike himself worked at our home the first time, and Clarence came the second time. The issues were resolved quickly. Both men are professional and pleasant. Highly recommend.

I called Mike Hickey in a panic this morning, he happened to be in the neighborhood, came right over and luckily my furnace seemed to be working ok, although it hadn't been the day before. Mike was professional, courteous, and refused any payment.
I'm so glad to be able to have a plumber in my town to call upon in the future!

Mike Hickey came to my parent's home during a colder than normal period when every other plumber in the area was booked. Our older steam furnace was leaking and Mike explained how to stop the leak until he could arrive. He quickly fixed the problem and charged a very reasonable fee. We talked while he was fixing the furnace and he was very knowledgeable and experienced in plumbing and heating systems as well as being pleasant.
