VERY POOR SERVICE. Approximately 4 weeks ago, we contacted Hi-Tech to repair a slab leak. They were very quick to respond to an initial service call but going forward, failed at every step. After paying nearly $7,000 for the repairs, the only positive is that the slab leak is repaired. The service crew left a 4 feet long, 3 feet wide hole in our front yard claiming that the city needed to inspect the work before the hole could be filled. They also left a broken sprinkler line, which was cracked by their backhoe. The city finally arrived a week later to inspect the work, and agreed to notify Hi-Tech so they could return to repair the sprinkler line and backfill dirt into the hole. We waited and waited with no word from Hi-Tech. My husband made numerous calls to Hi-Tech and was told either ""we are waiting for the city to inspect the work"", or ""someone will call you to let you know when they plan to finish the work"", but there was no follow-up phone call. After a few days, my husband called to talk to a manager. He mentioned that if a manager did not call, he was going to personally visit their office to discuss this issue. The person who answered the phone accused him of threatening her. A couple more weeks passed with no response, so we resorted to paying a sprinkler repair service to fix the original broken sprinkler line. They also discovered a second broken line which was cracked by Hi-Tech. Lessons learned -- we will never pay in full for any incomplete services and we will never use Hi-Tech again.
We requested service on a slab leak.
The service tech came out and seemed genuinely interested in running up the price as he came to me 8 times going up and down between $3000 to $20,000 dollars. Including jackhammering the floors and tearing out concrete. Finally we decided that we had to do what we had to do so we set up an appointment for the next day.
The next day that tech was sick so we got a different guy. The next guy came out and was very thorough and said we didn't have to do any of that he rerouted it and did a wonderful quick job and left.
Obviously the first guy was trying desperately to run up the price and was ridiculous. If we had not gotten the next guy, the first guy would have hit us for $20,000 not including the price for repairing floors and carpets.
We called the Manager and spoke with him and explained our discontent. He seemed condescending and defensive and suggested that Price Gouging was there standard practice. It's their duty to run it up. I guess if you are just your typical homeowner you probably do not want to use these guys. They are not looking out for your best interest. They cut into our Walls wanted to Jackhammer our floors and tear out carpet. Where was the hi-tech? They did nothing Hi-Tech. I thought they had cameras that they could run so they didn't have to tear out walls and flooring.
My Recommendation would be to find another route. We gave them the chance to explain how it could have happened this way, but they made excuse after excuse. At the end of the day, we paid, but the initial tech was lying and was caught doing so.
Maybe $20,000 is not a big deal to them, but is to me. They pushed the payment plan over and over and over. When it comes to Hi Tech. Question everything and ask for them to bring some hi-tech. I guess they reserve that for big business. If you are the little guy, they don't give a crap! Call someone else.
Ginger M.$508 to switch out a standard sink faucet fixture with a similar one already provided by the customer!!!! $508!!? This company is a SCAM SHOW! After trying for 30 minutes to get clarity on their $99 trip charge, I stupidly scheduled their plumber to come out. He finally called over an hour after the waiting window closed and said he was going to be even later. He arrived. Looked at our kitchen sink for 10 seconds then said he couldn't fix the leak. That we needed a ""cabinet man."" He said we owed him $99. He left before I could ask him what he would charge to switch out a bathroom sink fixture so I called him to ask thinking I could at least use the $99 towards him doing SOMETHING to help us. That's when he told me he would charge $508 to switch the fixtures out - even when we went to Lowe's and got the faucet ourselves.
Then two days later I get a call from an irate woman saying we did not pay. I told her we did not get an invoice so that we COULD pay. She yelled at me and implied I was expecting too much. I asked to speak to the owner/manager. He/she never called me back. A couple of days later I finally received an invoice and I then paid it.
Do not use this UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, INCOMPETENT company!
Michael C.What a disappointment this company turned out to be. Having reached and read a 4.8-star review on Google, I hoped to have a positive response, which was promptly dashed. I called needing a plumber to clear a clogged drain line and repair a broken pipe under the sink in my kitchen. I was told that if I joined their membership service I could get a plumber out that evening (of course after agreeing to pay an ""after-hours service call""). A technician was dispatched to my house that evening but said the technician was only a ""drain specialist"" and could not complete the needed repair. He suggested that I wait until the following day when a plumber could be dispatched that clear the drain and repair the broken drain line. Well after waiting until 11:00 the next day to hear from someone, I called Hi-Tech and was informed that a plumber would contact me when he was on his way, but no estimated time could be given. Then I was told an estimate for the service had already been sent to my email address. I told the lady I had not received the estimate and she agreed to send it to my correct email address. I did get a call from another service tech to inform me he was on his way. When he arrived he informed me that he could not clear the clog as he did not have drain clearing equipment on his truck. I agreed to allow him to fix the drain line and have a ""drain specialist"" come out that next day. Then he informed me that he did not have the basic plumbing parts on his truck to repair the line, which was already outlined in the estimate I was sent. He left to find a hardware store to purchase the necessary parts, returning about an hour later to inform me that his company credit card was not working and no one in the office was responding to him. I made a call to the office requesting to speak to a supervisor, I was informed that all the supervisors/managers were gone for the day, this was about 4:00 pm. I was told someone would call me the next day (today). At 9:26 am today, I called and requested to speak to a supervisor/manager, who told me someone would return my call today. It's 4:26 pm and other than my call to cancel the repair service I have not heard from this company. I would call something other than 4.8 STAR service. I've requested a cancelation of their Premier Service Plan and I will NOT be calling this company for service again. How do you send a so-called plumber to fix a clogged and broken drain line that either can't do it or doesn't have the tools/parts to do it?
Pamela M.Outstanding service!
Showed up perfectly on time. Chase and Lindsay were prompt, efficient, friendly and very VERY helpful. Fixed our clog, notified us of ""worse case scenario""- which was awesome, saved a lot of time. Very professional, made sure every question we had was answered and went over and beyond the call of duty. Super sweet and kind. Refreshing! Thank you so much! I highly recommend!
NO RATING These charlatans showed up found leak but didn't know how to fix it, but I still had to pay them $250 just to show up and throw up . Then I had to call another plumber to make repairs and could have found the leak for same repair price. Hi tech plumbing is horrible , and their commercials on sport radio and local tv are all lies.
F-RATING
Trent S.Hi-tech did a great job quickly responding to my inquiry. Prior to any work, they provided three detail estimates and the pros/cons of each. During the repair, they kept me updated each step of the way. They were very efficient and had great customer service. Prior to tech arrival, they sent a detailed notification of his timeline to arrival and short bio so I knew who to expect. The work was completed accurately the first time. I highly recommend and will not hesitate to use again!
Left our property in a mess, leaving the job unfinished after their equipment broke twice (flat tire and a mechanical failure). Left broken equipment in our yard for several days, forcing us to push back a construction project after more than a week of delays on their part. HiTech also left without turning our gas back on, leaving us without natural gas in our home. Complete unprofessionalism on behalf of the management. Shocking and disappointing considering we have used them for years.
Aaron C.Last summer, I had a large crack and roots growing into the main drain line under my house. All other plumbers were saying we'd have to tear up the foundation in my living room to repair the issue. After some searching, I found Hi-Tech Plumbing and their advertising of pipe lining. They came out and evaluated the line and said they'd be able to repair it without any penetration into the foundation. It was an expensive job, but in the long run not having to deal with the aftermath of jack hammering and digging, it was worth it. We did have a slight issue with the pipe lining not fully opening at one end causing the repair to take an extra day, but I attribute that to a bit of inexperience by one of the drain techs, and the supervisor was able to get it working no big deal. I very much appreciate their hard work in getting me all fixed up. Will use them again should it be needed for sure!
Initially I was displeased however Hi-Tech made it right. They came back out to resolve the issue and educated me on my plumbing issues so I now understand.
