As a family-run company, Herrmann Services serves the entire Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area. In 1968, Richard J. Herrmann opened Herrmann Plumbing, beginning a legacy for his family. Initially, the company operated as a small, one-man plumbing shop. Richard found that remarkable service and skilled craftsmanship are difficult to hide. His friends and family began to share their experiences with others, spreading the word about his dedication and skill. He was thrilled to hire additional craftsmen to accommodate the growing demand. Richard meticulously selected his employees, ensuring they had a genuine desire to help people and were well-versed in their trade.
Some third-generation Herrmanns are now involved in the company. In the early 90s, Kim's son Jason entered the plumbing field and has since earned his Plumbing License, Backflow License, and State HVAC Licenses for Ohio and Kentucky. Currently, he is the Service Manager.

The technician's were very friendly, prompt etc.
I was quoted $175 for an hour work to install a thermostat and then was charged $267.00. They were here less than an hour and while I appreciate the work, that amount is just ridiculous after the $175 quote.
Bryson M.Canceled on me for the first appointment. Rescheduled for the next day. 2 plumbers showed up and were able to unclog the stoppage in my kitchen sink drain. The plumbers themselves were both very nice and professional. My only issue was the price. The $79 flat service fee was fine but the $800 total just seemed like it was way too much. I was fully expecting to pay $200-300, like I have with other companies for similar amounts of time and labor. I agreed to the price and service because I needed the job done ASAP and didn't have the luxury of scheduling with another provider. Will most likely never use them in the future simply because of cost.
Agree with others pricing too high. Lost any trust when they wanted to charge over $500 for a leak that another company took care of without any parts for a little over $100.
Jeff G.The work they do is great. I had a water softener put in last year and a hard start capacitor put in my septic pump. Both times the service was outstanding. I give them a poor score because the prices are incredibly high. I had them come out and give me an estimate on fixing or replacing a shower faucet. $1600 to replace. I got a different company to come out and they fixed it for $325 and their estimate to replace was $700. There is no reason to gouge on prices. I expect I was over-charged on the other work I had done. From now one I will be more careful on pricing.
""...We've got a whole 'lot of history..."" (cue One Direction's song)...
They have been servicing our heater & AC for over 16 years. While we may have our ups and downs due to equipment error, they have always taken care of us. If something fails that they've installed - they don't abandon us, they take care of us until the problem is fixed. We are preferred customers - which means we pay monthly - but we always make up those fees with their good maintenance and discounted fees for the future costs of service. Recently, our heater malfunctioned, but they came out and fixed the problem - even on the weekend. (I considered doing a service program with a different provider - one that's considered more ""posh"" - but they were so backed up with appointments that they couldn't have even come to do the servicing during normally expected windows of time - like months out. Winter would have been half over). Bottom line, Herrmann may not have the ""Posh"" name but they consistently serve us well despite the usual challenges of providing for heating and cooling services/maintenance/repairs. D.J. came and fixed our heater these past few days. He identified the problem, told us what to expect and and had excellent communication skills with regard to the whole process. The office called to tell us that the part we were waiting for was delayed from the provider - so they were proactive despite having to tell us semi-bad news. I feel like communication is so important in managing expectations & they certainly communicated well as a team. Overall - they've been good to us.
The $59 service fee is one of the lowest in town but the prices are through the roof. I had them come out to diagnosis my furnace and was told it would be roughly $950 to fix or $3600 to replace my furnace with an 80% eff furnace. 80% eff is suppose to be a cheaper furnace. I paid the $59 but made a couple phone calls and was quoted on average around $550 to repair my furnace or around $2300-$2800 for a new 80% eff unit. Prices are just too high and kind of ridiculous.
Scott G.Great service. Called at 10:30, the guy was done early at his morning job, their office called me at 11:45 and said he'd be here in 20-30 minutes. Greg showed up at noon he was totally pro, he diagnosed the issue, made the repair and was gone by 12:35. Definitely my go to HVAC company.
**AVOID**
This company came out to give me a quote for a gas line to a stove. First flag, the technician stated ""I don't work on commission, so I won't sell you something you do not need"". Second flag, ""I went to 4 years of Journey school with 20+ years experience"". By the end of the hour and half long assessment, he concluded he will need to drill holes in the rafters for the gas line (basement drop ceiling) as well as tie into the electrical box to ground the pipe in the total cost of $3,957.00. He also wrote up 2 additional quote for unrelated items he came in for. His quote was 3x higher than the other two companies I had out.
Jaccard W.Great experience with booking service call over the phone. The technician that completed repairs was prompt, knowledgeable and sociable. We are a repeat customer for Herrmann Services for different projects/repairs and do recommend the company. Oh, and the time from initial call to having a tech in home was super fast and convenient!
I have used Herrmann on two occasions. They both were difficult fixes. The first was the AC/Heat unit that was installed by a well known Covington firm. The unit was a Carrier and a replacement for what was originally installed in 1983. After about 25-26 years it needed to be replaced. So the new unit was installed. But the unit never cooled or warmed properly. Since my neighbor has the same unit, I would check temperatures etc. and could easily verify that there was a problem. After 18 months, the Covington firm still was unable to fix it properly. I finally called my neighbor's Heating and Air Conditioning firm - Herrmann. They likewise were baffled and had made a few trips out to check it. They said they would continue to research it. After another 4-5 months they called and said that they felt that they had the problem solved and another appointment was made. The rest is history - no problems for the past 8+ years.
More recently, I called them on a problem that I have had since I originally bought the condo. My neighbor also has this problem. Excess dust. You could dust the top of something and within 10 days dust it again. That is a lot and it is not healthy. But many AC/Heat people feel that this is normal. I discussed it with Herrmann this year. They sent a team out and over a four month period with the use of sheet metal and additional filters fixed what they could. I just finished my evaluation, and I would estimate a reduction of 65% of the dust. Since I am also doing a remodel and will be removing all carpeting and using porcelain tile on the floor, I expect the rest of the dust problem will be gone.
