Recommended Customer Reviews
Herndon Plumbing and Heating is the best. We have had numerous issues over the years and they were taken care of promptly. Thank-you!
So, it has been a few days since my review about the $655 charge to fix two dripping faucets. Now one of the faucets is Leaking badly. The plumber came back and declared that I need all new faucets and he will install them for $200 each.
Deal with Herndon Plumbing at your own risk. Buyer beware!d
John did a great job addressing a couple of urgent plumbing issues on short notice at a very fair price. I was a first time customer and appreciative of being able to get an appointment quickly. He quickly diagnosed and fixed one problem, and inspected another fixture and confirmed it was working properly. I'm a very happy customer.
1 star is about all this company is worth. The rates are a bit extreme($150 for 1st 30 minutes plus $50 for the next 2 15 minute increments and no prorating or maybe there is. They couldn't even tell me that). We got charged $235 for 33 minutes. I called to get an explanation and no one there was able to do simple math. They did give us a refund after I showed them how to add 150 + 50. You are better off going somewhere else.
I used HPH multiple times for issues with my kitchen sink and my hot water heater. Very friendly, on time, and fair pricing. I would use them again and highly recommend them.
I was really pleased with Herndon Plumbing. For starters they were one of the only companies willing to give me a 'ballpark estimate' for replacing an inside shutoff valve along with an outside faucet (most other companies wanted to charge me $60-$80 to find out - applicable to the final bill of course). Nora was very helpful and friendly on the phone and gave me an estimate that was less than some ""specials"" I found advertised online. John
arrived on-time, assessed the situation, and gave me a final quote that was about 20% less than the phone estimate.
I should have looked here first for the reviews, as I might have seen how badly reviewed this company is.
This company is expensive, at least $200.00 per hour, and you may end up paying for no solution at all. Neither Nora, the receptionist who seems never there (but is obviously quite busy replying to 'bad' reviews here and giving her own review a 4 star), nor David, the technician, told me what their price was when I called to set up the appointment. I was a bit 'in duress', and informed them both of the problem. To give credit to David, at least, he did tell me it was not an emergency and he would 'save me' their $400/ hour emergency rate, which he did. But he didn't say what the day rate was, as he talked over me when I tried to ask. He referred me to the receptionist who did not inform. I ended up paying for the plumber 'service' for watching a washing machine work for over an hour, and his announcing that there was not a leak, but a washing machine problem. He said it took him an 1 1/ 2hour to do that, and he did not call to tell me what was going on when he 'watched', or that he was going to watch over an hour. Again, neither told me their rate until after the plumber watched my washing machine work for over an hour.
They then referred me to Sterling Appliance, that seems equally bad and expensive. I have wondered if there is something kickback going on.
Wonder if Nora will reply to me through Yelp; she certainly has not called me back when I have called lately.
I've used Herndon Plumbing for over 40 years. They might not be the cheapest in the industry but they are honest and efficient. I've used them for plumbing, bathroom and kitchen renovation projects, gas lamp replacement and gas fireplace installation (they are licensed to work with natural gas). Some of the comments I'm reading here sound like the ""ever complaining - ever offended"" homeowner. To them I would suggest that they get a coupon and hire a novice. Thank you. LG in Reston
Herndon Plumbing did some work for me and there was a problem with their work. When I called to ask them to fix it, the receptionist told me the owner would call back and he never did. I even offered to pay for the repairs.
This company does not seem to be interested in customer satisfaction.
Richard C.Very, very expensive. Just to walk in and tell me that my hot water heater wasn't working because of an electric problem and not a plumbing problem (10 min) cost $200.
