I would never recommend the services of Herndon Muncey Investigative Plumbing to anyone who needs plumbing work. Their communication and transparency throughout the job that is *still* incomplete almost two months later has been abysmal. Getting updates, timelines, any kind of commitment, and any news at all has been like pulling teeth. On top of that, the lack of care and empathy regarding the repeated delays that have resulted in our family having no sewer connection for nearly a month has astounded me. And this is *after* a plan to solve the issue was determined.

I understand weather delays and logistical hurdles. But when said weather and hurdles have finally been worked out, it feels like there is never a sense of urgency to get the job done--that they don't see the people whose lives are being affected by this at the other end.

We finally cancelled our job with them and they seemed neither surprised or sorry. I suppose an easy and clean break is all we can ask for and the only good that has come from this job.

I cannot speak to the quality of their work--mostly because I have been able to see or experience very little of it other than the gaping hole in our backyard.

There is another review here similar to what I just went through and it appears our work was done at the same time. Beware!

I received a bid to replace my sewer line which was the cheaper of several options. During the course of the work I was told they would be delayed (it was the end of day) because they needed to do additional digging under my driveway to get to the area they needed to fix. Apparently more had to be replaced than expected in order to pass the city inspection.

Work is completed and I get a final bill (you pay part up front and the rest when work is completed) to which I signed and said I'd mail them a check. The bill was the agreed upon amount.

Later that day I get another invoice for $1300 more than the estimate and was told it was because they had to dig more than expected. I told them this was a bit ridiculous since no one mentioned an additional cost when I was told they had to dig a bit more. I asked why I wasn't given this amount when they mentioned the additional digging and was told that it was an error. I relayed that the additional $1300 charge put their total cost above two other bids I had. They also ran cameras through my line so I still don't understand why the digging caught them off guard.

I have received repeated calls from the project manager attempting to collect the $1300. Three weeks later he had the nerve to show up at my home to collect.

If you're interested in dealing with a company that will give you a good estimate and act like the mafia afterwards then this is the place for you.

First of all let me say that the work done by the crews appeared to be first rate. They worked very hard. My dissatisfaction is with HM not honoring the pricing in a Proposal/contract my husband and I received for the job.

They removed and replaced 35' of yard line and removed concrete in the driveway (not the patio) and replaced PVC piping to connect to the yard line.

Despite several conversations regarding their written proposal for an exact amount to be eliminated from the total cost of the project if we chose to have a concrete professional replace the concrete instead of Herndon Muncey , in the end they picked a random amount (which was roughly 1/3 of the amount they agreed to in writing) to credit us back. This was done without warning, without explanation, and without reason. We were left with an additional surprise of almost 1000 dollars.

During the process, I had several conversations regarding the concrete being done by a concrete professional with the HM job supervisor and never once did it come up that Herndon Muncey would be charging us for any part of the concrete work. I reminded him several times, that we were pulling that part out of the scopr of the job as agreed to in Proposal C. This contract quote was provided by Mr. Muncey a month earlier and which I signed and sent to the job supervisor at the begin of the job. There was never a comment that we would receive a partial charge or that he was disregarding the written contract Proposal C.

Further there were additional charges that we had to sign off on (and we did so without dispute) so if they intended to alter the Proposal, that would have been an appropriate to time let us know.

When I received the final bill, I contacted HM with copies of the paperwork and never heard back. Despite that, we immediately paid the agreed to amount as well the additional agreed to expenses. After several weeks I got a call with a lot of lame excuses and several not truths. Totally unprofessional and disappointing.

So we had an ice maker leak in our home. Our insurance adjuster sent these guys out to do a pressure test. While doing so they removed a commode in one of the powder rooms on the first floor and didn't reset it correctly. Wobbled like mad. Called them and they came out to fix it and while doing so put a huge bead of clear silicone around the base which looked horrible. Not sure why they did that as the commode never had any caulk or silicone at all.

Here I sit 2 months later now it's leaking all over the floor.

Definitely would NOT use them ever again.
