My ex-wife was told to use Herman's Plumbing for a major repair in the house she was buying (by the title company, who had gotten an estimate). They said they would be there at 8:30am. Since she works nights, she got up on very little sleep to meet the plumber. At 9am she called Herman's to ask where the guy was-- the lady on on the phone said he left the office at 8:30 to pick up some supplies and should be there shortly. Then at 9:35 -- more than a hour past the appt time-- they called back and said he was leaving the store with the supplies and would be there in ANOTHER half hour. So he would be showing up after 10:00am for an 8:30am appointment. We canceled the service and will look for a different plumber. Show up when you said you're going to show up. If he'd set the appointment for 10 to begin with, there would have been no problem.

This is the best, by far, plumbing company I've used. The do have the $85/hr rate, but it was incredibly fair compared to some of the ""free estimates"" that I got. The guy got here on time and did quality work. I saw the review about the hourly rate being a little inflated, so I was worried when the guy Told me the lady back on the office would send me a bill. It was higher than I thought it would have been but still [significantly]!cheaper than the ""free estimates."" All in all, if you need a job done, call Herman's. Just plan on about 20% higher than doing the calculation yourself.

Dave and his guys are great. They are fair, knowledgeable and dependable. They do work at my house and my office. I am happy to be able to just pickup the phone and have them come out and take care of whatever I need without worrying if it's done right or if I am getting over charged. They have done everything from replacing a toilet to replacing a main water supply pipe in my parking lot.

I would not recommend this company! I was not told in my initial phone call that I would be billed for ""point to point"" time, only that the hourly rate was $85/hr. The plumber showed up around 9:00 am, left for an hour or so to get parts, and completed the job by 11:30. He basically only worked for an hour, and I was billed for 3-1/2 hours of labor! When I googled the travel time from their office to my house, it was 15 minutes of travel time. I don't know where he went to get parts, but it doesn't seem right that I was charged for this time. I will never use their services again, I definitely feel cheated!
