Heritage started as a family operation, initiated by brothers with just one vehicle. Today, the brothers (along with their adult children!) manage a business with more than 100 service trucks that delivers exceptional, customer-oriented solutions across houses in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Southern Maine.
At the heart of our business, we are a family company with a solid track record for offering excellent service at a reasonable price. Clients often tell us that they spot our vehicles all over the area, which is accurate since many of our technicians are likely that one of our team members is also your community member. This local presence allows us to respond promptly to assist you with your plumbing, heating needs, cooling issues, and electrical needs. It also allows us to uphold our commitment to superior service.
Craig manages Heritage along with his brother, Steve. His sons, Brad and Tyler, as well as his niece, Ashley, join forces to run the company. Craig emphasizes the quality of service, friendly employees, and elevating the view of the plumbing industry.

Recommended Customer Reviews
Long time customer with Heritage that went south after poor response from the company regarding missed appointment times. 1st time ok. 2nd time not so happy. Said goodbye to them after the third one. Also discovered technicians are commissioned on the jobs they bring in. Was told I needed a hot water heater replaced very soon or I was going to have big problems. It went another 5 years before I made the decision to replace it out of caution. Heritage estimate over $3,000. Got it done including adding an expansion tank and mixing valve from a competitor for $1600.
Technicians are polite and knowledgeable but, can't help get the feeling that the incentive they might get by ""upselling"" surely drives their customer service interaction. Think going in for an oil change and end up paying for four new tires, alignment, and balancing with a caution that the exhaust system should be replace soon or car will fail inspection.
I had a high level of iron in the water. They offered a system for around $!8,000 that would solve all my problems. They lied. It totally failed and I was told ""too bad""! I have hired a lawyer and filed a complaint with the BBB of New Hampshire and the Atty General's office for fraud.
We called to have them come out and help turn off a pipe that was for an ice maker in our freezer since buying a new one that did not have one. We were quoted 500$ if we had the water shut off ourselves or 1000$ if they did. They were either going to replace the value or remove it. Well, we had it done today for only 140$. I felt like I got a salesperson and not a plumber with Heritage and it cost me 89$ for nothing. They were also very quick to cash the check. I know I won't be calling them again. I found my plumber today and he is very fair and fast.
We had a job done by this company in 10/22 . Exact same issue occurred six months later!! Called them back , instead of the regular fee of $89 dollars was charged $189.00. When asked why difference on price, he said because he needed to get his tools out to diagnosed the problem"". Really?? You will think a plumber has to use tools to diagnose a problem! I then asked him if the fee will be applied to the total of the bill and was told due to the fact that he needed to order the part and return to fix the issue, the diagnostic fee couldn't be applied. Diagnostic fee only gets applied if the job is done same day he told us . Really? We were very disappointed as the first time we used them, the service was great and reasonable priced. We did try to contact the company, we're told someone will get back to us , sadly still waiting for that call!!! Why will the issue return six months later?? So dissatisfied with their services!!!
Bought a house w a generac generator and figured get it a tune up to be safe so had heritage come to do tune up and oil change... generator hasn't been the same since....wouldn't start after initial service, called them back they came back said it was some part need to order, strange how it worked before, they replaced part then it wouldn't start to do its weekly test so they came back charged me for some other part now it doesn't do its weekly test still and was doing a ceiling fan myself because can't trust no one else... shut the breaker off so the generator is supposed to start and I'm in my house just listening to the generator cranking over and cranking over....won't start....should have never gotten the tune up I guess.... lived here almost a year before I had tune up and it started every time it needed too.... I was going to call and have them come back, then I thought about it..... why would I do that? I'm all set, maybe I can call generac and have them bill heritage or maybe atleast refund my labor cost....never again Heritage, never again?
Absolute lunacy that Heritage attempted to charge me $600 for replacing 1 exterior spigot. After getting the price on-site stopped me in my tracks, the technician said, ""yes, we are very expensive"".
I get a supply chain crisis, but in my opinion this is a legal form of theft.
Make sure they give you a ballpark price before you confirm your appointment. In the end, my bad.
Never again Heritage, lesson learned.
Valissa R.We had an issue with our humidifier unit. It wasn't working well. It's a unit that can be tricky to work on. Our technician, Paul, did a great job figuring it out. Turns out the wrong water filter was put in back in December during the annual servicing back in December. So Paul got the correct filter, replaced it, and now the humidifier is working normally. We really appreciated not being charged for this visit.
Paul was excellent. On time, quick to study problem. Very professional and respectful.
Dean D.I needed to add an outlet for a pellet stove I purchased and my first price quote for the job was almost $1300. This was Heritage Home Services. I was figuring $600 to $700 tops. It's really not that complex...one outlet, wire (approximately 75 feet) and a breaker to be installed in my backup generator breaker box. Add in labor and the cost comes in at around $600 to $700 with a generous portion for labor. Since the price quote was so ridiculous from Heritage, I decided to call Mr. Electric for a second price quote.
Thank God I got the second price quote! Mr. Electric came in at $533.00 for the same exact job!
To be fair, I know everything is more expensive right now and labor is hard to find. Additionally, these companies are extremely busy but I have no use for companies that are price gouging their Customers just because they can. I also have a long memory when it comes to these companies because as most people know the economy is cyclical and business isn't always great. I will remember NOT to use Heritage when times are tough...Mr. Electric has me for life...good times and bad. I've done electrical work and I did price this job out before seeking professional services. I know the approximate cost for parts and I usually double that cost for labor. That's how I came up with the $600 to $700 estimate. The $1300 price tag Heritage quoted is just obnoxious. Shame on you Heritage!
Mr. Electric was easy to schedule, on time and very professional. The $533 they quoted was extremely reasonable. My advice, steer clear of Heritage and checkout Mr. Electric.
Small add on comment:
It's kind of sad. After reading review after review...all saying pretty much the same thing and then reading the business owner's response...give me a break. You either just don't get it or you just don't care about price gouging customers. Your competitors are bonded, licensed and are highly trained as well. They all warrant their work. Are there bad players out their...you bet...that's why there's Yelp and you have two stars.
Heritage came out when our boiler started leaking. They barely looked at it and said it needed $3,000 to fix now but the whole thing needed to be replaced eventually (which was a quote of $27k!). We told them to leave and called Jordan Signature heating and they came out and replaced what needed to be replaced and the whole thing costed $350. Do not recommend Heritage at all!
