Heritage started as a family operation, founded by two brothers with just one vehicle. At the heart of our business, we are a family-owned business with a strong track record for delivering quality service at a reasonable cost. Customers often report that they see our vehicles all over the area, which is correct since many of our technicians are likely that one of our team members is also your community member. This closeness allows us to arrive promptly to assist you with your home plumbing, heating, cooling issues, and electrical services. It also helps us to uphold our commitment to quality service.

buyer beware.....overpriced, sales driven technicians that are at your house to sell you anything under the moon. had them visit my rental property in nh for a yearly cleaning and will not being calling them again.
Tracy L.Wow! although the technician was very good at what he does, the Cost is absolutely ridiculous!!! Even after a 5% Military Discount, over $1600 to replace an exhaust fan the size of my hand off of our furnace... Way over priced!! Do your research before just calling Heritage for your heating and cooling needs.

Positives and negatives here. Here is my story.-
I bought a house a month ago. Heritage had last inspected the heater 3 years ago. I called them and asked to have a service done for $299. Seemed reasonable. They are very professional and friendly and responsive and let me know when exactly they were coming. All good.
My tech arrived and he was also very professional and friendly. Within a minute of his visit he said that I needed to have my vent fan replaced before any maintenance work could be done on my tank and boiler I agreed as it had been making some noise. He gave me an estimate of $1937 installed and I signed off on it not knowing any better - this on top of the maintenance. I looked up the part when he returned and Amazon has it for $500 so there is an incredible mark up here, I feel like I have been taken advantage of. Its unfortunate as I like to be trusting and give repeat business to reliable vendors. Not faulting the kid who came out here - he is following direction of the organization. Faulting myself for not getting a second opinion.
Nice people - professional - questionable pricing so I don't think the value is there. I'll also tell others to look elsewhere. I only get burned once. I'm in sales and I don't gouge like this - nor do I respect it
For the record, he is still here working so I am hoping there are not any more surprises.
I'll assume that someone from Heritage will respond to this review based on other reviews like it. If they can explain the almost $1500 charge for installation of the $500 vent - that would be terrific.
I did call the office while the tech was still here and was told that I needed to negotiate with the tech and that he would call his manager to see if there were any concessions they can make.
Spoke with tech - he said the price is what it is and he was able to offer me a 5% discount based on a conversation he had with his manager. Price includes parts, labor and warranty..
I'm horrified - nice people alone does not make value.
Moral: know what you are doing or get a second estimate
Wont do business with them again - its too bad.
* Update - Spoke with the GM the day after I posted this so they could address my concerns. Was issued a credit for an agreed upon amount - but I Still feel I paid more than I should have. Would consider using them again - but with trepidation if any surprises came up *
Heritage installed two new Rinnai direct-vent room heaters in my house to replace the 30 year old Empire heaters. Bill Landry (the estimator) was very informative and Heritage's price was less than another company quoted us. The installers arrived early and called when they were on their way. Installation ran ahead of schedule and they cleaned up after themselves. Everything was great. In the days that followed we kept thinking we were smelling whiffs of gas in one of the rooms where the heaters had been installed. We called Heritage and they sent the installer to our house quickly. The gas supply hose was leaking at the coupling, which was quickly fixed.
Since then, we've had Heritage inspect and repair our gas furnace (two separate visits). And while I was not happy to learn the furnace needed extensive repairs, both times their employees called when they were on their way, were courteous and neat in performing their jobs, finished sooner than planned and took time to explain the repairs to us. A number of reviewers have said their prices are high. I have only had the opportunity to compare their prices with similar companies once, and in that case, Heritage had the lower price.
A follow up to my recent review. Plumbing inspector was here today, Heritage charged $140.00 for the permit.it costs $35.00.Must cost $105.00 for them to pull it. It is also listed on the bill as a stand by service, which they were not here for. They charged $547.00 for a valve that cost at best $150.00.Like I said previously ,If you have money to throw away, this is the company for you. Someone from their office did call and said if I wanted to compare apples to apples to give them a call .No,I think I know a rotten apple when I see one.
Seriously, stay far, far away from this place. Look at the list of negative reviews from people who feel they were taken advantage of, overcharged, over sold or hustled. Their pricing is outrageous, particularly if they can convince you the work is critical.
I was one of their naïve victims on 2 occasions and was suckered into replacing a toilet last year because the technician could not unclog a drain. We were having guests the coming weekend so instead of using my brain I let me emotions take over and ultimately agreed to over $1100 worth of work. To replace a toilet! I kid you not! I've since embarrassingly shared the story with friends who are horrified by the amount I paid (and not surprised that the company was Heritage). Another instance was 2 years ago for an A/C tune-up and their cost-saving package deals...puh-lease. In terms of the ""higher quality of service"" you get for that higher price tag, it just is not there. Rescheduling maintenance appointments, phone calls not returned, I can get the same or better service just about anywhere. If your only criteria is that they get a warm body to you on pretty short notice, and you are willing to pay handsomely for that, then maybe you'll like them. However I would argue several of their competitors are equally accommodating at a fraction of the cost.
If my review doesn't give you pause then the company's stock response to most negative reviews should make you think twice (and 3 times). There are simply too many other quality contractors out there to be taken advantage of by this terrible company. 9/11/2015 * Hi Carol, we're sorry to hear that your daughter feels that she did not get the value she paid for. While we understand that we are a higher priced company, we believe this price is proportional to the higher quality of service that we deliver. We would be happy to discuss your daughter's concern if she would like to call us at 1-800-977-4737. Thank you for your feedback. Read less
Pleased with their service and people. They are the first people I call when I need something done. Prices are a bit high, but if it's a big job it's worth the peace of mind.
They are money grabbers. I broke the first obvious rule and PAID to have them come look. $89 for a quote! This is always a sign of a poor business strategy, but I was exhausted after the move and not thinking clearly. Their man gave me a quote almost double what the other people did, almost $2,000 more! On top of it, he bid out extra major parts to be changed, which both of the other plumbers immediately said we didn't need because we are on a well. They are either crooked or ill-informed, either one of which is problematic. BTW, don't go by Better Business Bureau which is where we found them. It turns out you can buy your rating now.
My daughter used Heritage for a leak in her boiler. Was charge 480.00 for a knob that was probably 15.00. I feel they took advantage of her being first time homeowner. Every time I mention to anyone that I had work done and what I paid they always say you called Heritage right? Not a good reputation to have. They have lost a client no one enjoys being ripped off.
we have given Heritage our business for 17 years. Now that there is a question of whether they had installed faulty parts or a question of whether our furnace had been properly fixed, its our fault, the customer, and they don't want to service us any longer. Amazing after we referred them to countless friends and neighbors. We paid $6000 for a furnace only 6 years ago, yet we have already spent $4000 in repairs. Do yourself a favor and DONOT CALL HERITAGE!!!
