Paid over $500 for a faucet change and I supplied the faucet.
Should of just send him away but didnt want call bunch of plumbers.
Funny thing about it was the year before only charged $300 .
I wont be calling this company anymore.
Answered the phone right away when I called, answered all my questions, scheduled around my work hours, sent a reminder email and text the night before, The plumber called me at 7:15am ahead of the scheduled 8am-10am show up time to start the work, verbally collaborated with me before the work was to be done, during, and also after, The plumber gave me options for my job, broke down the price. The plumber also indicated when he saw an issue that would require a bit more time (but did not charge for for the extra hours), but he wanted to keep me in the loop as he knew i told him I had to work at 12pm, Was transparent in communication, Price a bit higher than the local plumbers, but I have found the local plumbers often do not call back, are not transparent in communications, and sometimes do not even show up, costing extra time taking off from work. I have hired heritage to replace my central AC system 3 years ago, they also last year ran a condesing pipe , they changed the flow from my roof to my basement and out the side yard. I also hired to fix a toilet. Then today, the job was to fix the broken off garden hose, plus extra plumbing pipes, that were falsely rigged in my 1960;s basement, Stellar service, they answer the phone, they call back, they are transparent with communication, they also provide knowledge like they are a google search entity. highly recommend, they got all of my jobs over the last 3 years fixed, swiftly, timely, and transparent truthful communication. I believe they are also credentialed, drug tested, so you do not have drug addicts stealing your home items when you are not looking, Very happy and impressed, The negative reviews placed must be over price, but you pay for what you get. I couldnt even get in touch with other plumbers and service companies, and no regard for me, not even a call back.
We got new countertops new faucet and sink. Needed a company to disconnect sink before install and connect everything after install. Chose Heritage, had used them for heating services in the past and they did not stand out as overly expensive. Showed up to disconnect and quoted over $1,000 to do both. Shame on me for not getting a quote over phone before. Felt trapped last minute. So paid disconnect price $235 for no materials and exactly 7 minutes of labor. So $2,014/hr labor charge. Can you say gouging. So looked on line for average cost for same total project cost and should have been less than half this. Also found hundreds of complaints about pricing. Never understood why a company would want to lose a customer for life for a short term gain. I will never call this company again and will make it a point to tell everyone how much Heritage is charging. I will also be contacting the better business bureau and state leadership. Simply disgusted.
I wish I read the reviews here, before calling!
Let me start with ""HP & H inc does NOT provide a detailed parts and labor breakdown on invoices""
Consumer BEWARE!
They are EXTREMELY over priced!
I had 3 services...#1--hook up my sink--went from 2 drains to one--we removed garbage disposal and the piping that attached to it--swan pipe is what was needed to be put in--I bought the drain kit and sink myself.
#2--Values may need to be changed
#3 Hook the dishwasher hose up to the sink drain...I purchased the hose.
Let me start with at least giving the plumber the credit where credit is due. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable. I have not one complaint about him.
The sink--$619.---it clearly states---MINOR repair on the invoice as well. Okay--fine I will eat that cost...I have not a clue how much 40 PVC pipe costs to put in a swan neck and a hose hole for a dishwasher or how long it takes but to me $619 is what the entire bill should have been not just to hookup the sink.
The values--Replace under the sink stops--$336.00
The old rule--I knew one was gone...might as well replace all three...oh, and keep the copper pipe that was attached to the values as well.
THE DISHWASHER--this is what sent me over the edge....$549.00 to hook up 2 hoses....one I purchased, the other did need to be replaced--again the plumber did show me how the rubber gasket was dried out...it costs all of 20 at a home store. Invoice ""install standard dishwasher---(dishwasher was already in place) includes new water supply (which I did need again--20 at a home store) Remove existing dishwasher? not a service that was needed, as I am sure somehow, some where in the ""justification of H P & H inc it will be a ""disposal fee"" Hook up dishwasher to existing water shut off drain.
Finally, the old ""membership"" which was NEVER EVER brought up during the conversation of setting up the appointment. $69
Grand Total---$1,422.60 just sicking to think that those charges are just justified in that companies mind. It is seriously a shame. Plumbers are so hard to find...here I am think this company would be a the ""savor"" for repairs that need to be done. Instead they got you the minute they walk in the door. Which again they could have had it made around here.
So, why did I authorize it? Well, ask my idiot husband...he was home on conference calls working---didn't pay attention. When I got home, he was writing the check.
I call twice to ask for some type of breakdown on how this bill is the price it is. Jodi--very nice--very helpful...the Plumbing manager--did not call me back with in 24 hours, called again this afternoon---he and another plumbing manger were not available.
My suggestion to anyone who needs simple plumbing done, call the local plumber who charges $100 just to walk in the door--it will be way cheaper in long run.
Beware of lying salesman! We had a mini split installed. The salesman told about the mass save rebate and zero % loan. He insured us we could apply for the loan after the installation and offerd us a line of credit at 0% for 6 months while we apply for the loan. He was VERY pushy about having the unit installed quickly. After speaking with Mass Save they informed us that we cannot apply for a loan after the work is completed. Now we have a loan that if not paid in 6 months will be at 23% and all back interest charged to us. We tried calling the slaesman a few times and he never returned our calls.. The workers who did the job were great and professional.
I received a call yesterday confirming my appointment. I confirmed with the representative at that time. My window was 1-4 pm today (6/30). I had to get someone else to come sit at my home to allow the tech to enter the home because I had an unexpected emergency. I didn't cancel on your despite my emergency. And yet at 3:00 pm I received a call telling me the service technician would not be able to come to complete my service. After returning home I called to have the appointment rescheduled to tomorrow morning. I was told no availability. I explained I had an in home appointment (that was pushed out a day because of this standing appointment!) and need to have the maintenance completed prior to then and was again told no availability. Apparently Heritage selectively values the time of its customers. This after an incident where one of your plumbers SEVERELY overcharged my elderly mother last summer - over $1,000 for a job that should have been no more than $300! Every service visit felt more like a sales call. While the technicians seem competent, after these experiences, I cannot recommend using Heritage.
they are very dissipative on ""parts"" and the cost of doing business. 189.00 to come out to the house is fine, 544.00 for a 19.95 ""part"" is not. felt violated and taken. go find another.
Ed T.We sprung a leak in the basement that needed immediate attention and Heritage was the only service who could definitely get to us at the time. The work was friendly and professional but the pricing was BEYOND outrageous. Easily 3x what a local plumber would charge. They have a ""per service"" fee schedule, not an hourly rate, so you'll find yourself paying for 4 hours of work on a job that takes 1. Its as close to gouging as you'll get outside of wartime. Seriously? $2,000 to install a shower valve?
They are swindlers and frauds. Watch out. Avoid at all costs.
Their prices are jaw-droppingly bad, and I would go anywhere else. They charge you for the visit, they charge you again for even a basic look at the unit, they charge you double or triple the MSRP for any parts.
They were going to do a large project at my home that was scheduled to take 2 days and involved running new pipes from outdoors up through the home. 2 weeks before the project the changed the plan to have it run around the outside of the home. They were very vague about how this would affect the final cost. On the day of they never ran the new pipe; they just connected a new section to the existing pipe and called it a day.
Given that they radically changed the agreed upon scope of work we needed to talk about price. They charged us the full amount and have only now, after multiple exchanges offered a small partial refund that no where near covers the work not done.
Do not trust them. Look up any part they want to provide and see the actual price. Don't pay them ahead of time in case they don't do the work.
Eric C.On to the positives:
Good tech, very nice and informative
Scheduled as soon as they could
On to the negatives:
Was told that my low water pressure at hot would be investigated and that my new shower assembly could be installed at the same time. The tech said that he couldn't guarantee the water pressure but could do the shower assembly which should resolve the problem.
The price quoted to replace a customer supplied shower assembly was $980 with me having everything I thought I needed. He said it would take about 4 hours which is $245 an hour! I paid the insane amount because I wanted the work done as soon as possible and the tech seemed very nice. Hours into the job, the tech discovers that the assembly I had was missing pieces and that one of the handles wouldnt even fit, then I had to run out to buy what was missing in a rush as he found out at 4pm and the place closes at 4:30pm. He was helpful in calling the place but maybe he should have checked that he had everything he needed before starting? He called someone senior to him for advice during the problem and I could hear the brash person telling him to charge us more to come back to finish the job while the tech said we were already being charged a lot of money. Now I know to check Yelp reviews instead of going off of Google reviews as those are overwhelmingly positive while the Yelp reviews are overwhelmingly negative.
