Company Overview

You can relax, HEP is on the way!

HEP Services is a family-owned and operated home maintenance business. We opened our doors in 2002, and we have proudly served East Tennessee ever since. Throughout the years, we evolved from just heating, cooling, electrical, and plumbing services to include roofing and septic services. We take pride in our ability to handle everything under your roof, including the roof itself. When you connect with HEP Services, one call handles it all! As a local business, we see our customers as neighbors and treat them accordingly.

HEP began as a property management firm. We obtained our contractor's license and added other certifications, including Electrical and Mechanical. As we progressed, we introduced new services and brought on additional employees. HEP began serving the public in 2008.

My family and I are deeply involved in the daily operations of the business. We created this company from the ground up. Our goal is to deliver exceptional service to our customers and provide quality jobs for our employees. Having spent 30 years in the service sector, my experience informs our practices. I worked for twenty years with the world's largest package delivery service. It was there I realized that providing excellent service and keeping skilled employees is vital for success. I continue to uphold those values at HEP Services each day.

We requested our shower to be fixed which included tile replacement and grouting and some drywall with us supplying tile as needed. The drywall and additional tile they added was nice. The main job was the area at the bottom of the shower all around and it looks very unprofessional. We were required to pay 1/2 of the job upfront and when they refused to come back in to fix it after their second try - HEP told us that if we did not pay the 2nd 1/2 it would be turned over to a collection agency. We paid and stopped the relationship which we have enjoyed with HEP for over 10 years.

The crew that did the work were subcontractors and maybe that was the problem that it was out of HEPS normal scope of work..But they accepted the job, took pictures clearly showing the work areas.

To be told We were being unreasonable in our expectations - and to pay up or go to collections was unacceptable. We are in the process of getting the shower area fixed by a local tile company- my advice is if you stick with their base services you will most likely be pleased - BUT HEP should not step out of their comfort zone for repairs that they are not prepared to perform professionally to their customers satisfaction and close the door on a long term customer.

Do not use this company! Save your money and sanity. They ended up fixing my leak but not before destroying my brick inside and out, damaging a hose bib and causing additional water leaks. Do yourself a favor, stay away!

Purchased a tankless water heater from HEP in 2021 and the purchase included 2 years of labor servicing to include the maintenance flush. When the technician arrived, I was advised that there would be a charge. The tech was great in trying to get a resolution. However, even though I had the paperwork that showed the ""2 years labor service"" was included, the management still said they would charge. I thanked the technician for his time. The tech was super nice, and I totally blame management for breaking their written agreement. HEP does not follow through on agreements. Keep your paperwork in case you have to sue them.

i had used HEP for cleaning a sink drain in past and the plumber did a good job. I called today because the drain pipe for the washer is draining slow and sometimes overflowing. The lady I spoke with told me that they do not work with appliances. I tried to explain that this was the drain pipe into the sewer system not the machine, but she could not understand that. I called a competitor.

Had my old split unit AC replaced with a package unit. They took a week of being late, not showing because of ""emergency calls, and ordering the wrong unit in order to finally install the AC. When they left, there was no dog house put on so a gaping hole was left in my house and the concrete slab was not properly supported. Now the ""new ducts"" that were installed are not working correctly for the second time in 2 years. Improperly installed so now my ducts are full of water and have to be completely replaced less than 3 years after having them done.

I had a service contract with HEP at one time but cancelled after they came to do my HVAC inspection and tried to talk me into paying $5000to replace one of my units even though it was still running (it still is 2 years later). I called them when my sump pump stopped running in my basement and they charged me $3,200 for a new one. a year and a half later it went out again and they wanted $3,600 to replace it stating "" it only had a year warranty."" if you want a company that does horrible work and apparently uses cheap parts that don't last so they charge you again later this is the company for you. I will never call them again.

I called HEP today to give an estimate on a shower leak. One of their employees was across the street earlier and was kind enough to come in and take a look. He felt sure he knew what the problem was and gave an off the top of the head estimate of around $500 for repairs. He suggested I call HEP and have someone come out for a closer look, he already had another place to go. The person who came said he had never seen this problem and estimated $1200 dollars. I mentioned the discrepancy and he said I apparently knew mor about plumbing than he did, threw in some f bombs and said 'we're going to fight!' Then he told me to 'stay the f... away from him. I'm nearly 70 years old and have never seen anything like this. I recognize that there is a shortage of qualified employees, but this is outrageous.

Do not waste your time with these folks. Hep sent a tech out to our home for a roofing estimate. During this visit we were told that Hep would work with our insurance to get a new roof and that they would be helping us through the process. The day our insurance adjusters showed up NO HEP tech did. We were then told that Hep would call our insurance and handle things from there. For the next following 3 weeks we didn't hear a thing from Hep. When. we called to follow up Hep had NO notes about us or our account. I was then told the women I needed to speak with would call me back by the next day. That was last week and still haven't hard anything. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE PEOPLE.. all they will do is waste yours.

If I could rate this company zero I would. Their customer service is awful and they overcharge for work. Today is the second time in two weeks that I have been on their schedule and nobody has shown up or called. They were supposed to come today to access water damage to my ceiling caused by a faulty installation (by HEP) of my air conditioning system. But since this is a non-revenue service call it wasn't deemed important enough to show up or warrant a phone call. In addition they wanted to charge me $4,000 to fix the problem. Fortunately they admitted that is was their fault and covered it under warranty. Still took over two weeks to get my deposit refunded.
Secondly, their prices are way too high. They did a courtesy electrical inspection a month ago and wanted to charge me $750 to replace a breaker and correct a double tap in my electrical panel. I called a licensed electrician who not only fixed the issues in the panel, but installed four can lights in my kitchen ceiling. Total cost $620.
I will never let HEP step foot on my property again.

Avoid HEP services...plumber charged us $510 for a part that costs $75 at Lowes. They refuse to admit it is unreasonable and was obnoxious when I discussed it with them. Told me management sets the rates so I asked to speak to management and they tild me no, management would not help me.
