I don't know if the ownership of this business has changed. I called them because they were recommended to me a couple of years ago. Anyway, the 2 workers that came to my house were clearly not happy to be there. Also, I was told that the job of replacing a leaking slop sink pipe would take a few days AND would cost $1500. I hired another plumber who completed the job in less than an hour for $140. Too bad that Mulder's past reputation is being sullied by these individuals.

They are the nicest, accommodating, knowledgeable people. The office and the professionals are so nice to work with and they were so fast even during Covid when we had no heat. They were recommended to me last year by a friend and I will do the same with mine. To me picking someone to work on the house is as important as picking a doctor. I have to feel comfortable and trust them and I do.

We found Mulder back when Henry would make house calls - the previous owner of our home has used them and we figured we'd give them a try. Over the 20 years since, Leo and Bob (and yes, Judith too) have maintained the high quality we came to appreciate those years ago. I'll be honest: we have called other plumbers once or twice to try and save a few bucks. But the truth is, it wasn't worth it. Nobody has come close to the expertise and reliability of Mulder. They just do quality work and can always be counted on. So now we don't think twice. It's always Mulder. A Teaneck tradition. Sometimes, it's true: you get what you pay for. With Mulder, it's not just plumbing but peace of mind.

You get what you pay for. With Henry Mulder, that's great service and a professional outfit that stands behind their work. I've been a customer of theirs since 2003 when we bought our first house that happened to be in Teaneck and built in 1930. As parents of our first born, we didn't have a lot of extra cash laying around, but the prior owners of our house highly recommended them. They were right. It was true, Mulder was not the least expensive, but in the end, they SAVED us money. How does that even make sense? Because after needing various plumbing related repairs in our old house, we were spending a lot of cash and decided to look around for something cheaper. Cheaper is what we got. We chose not to use Mulder for a Few jobs and unfortunately, ended up calling Mulder back in to fix what a few other cheaper (in price and quality) plumbers had done. Shoddy work finally taken care of. One winter in 2007, on a Sunday night in February, our boiler quit. It was 11 PM and it was cold. With a small child in the house, we needed immediate help and called Mulder. Leo asked, are you a customer? And I said yes. He was over in half an hour and the boiler was fixed an hour later. We decided never to use anybody else. I just had them do some work in our house in Leonia. We've lived in this new house for 5 years and Mulder has come over and provided excellent service as usual. They've just extended the life of our 35 year old boiler for a few hundred buck. Sure, you can find someone for less, but you won't get the backing that Mulder provides. They stand by their work. They are professionals. You can get someone for less. Roll the dice if you like. I learned my lesson. You get what you pay for.

I have had Mulder Plumbing for my personal and rental properties. They know their business expertise well and can explain preventive ways to no longer have the problem. This company is prompt, extremely helpful, and if other resources are needed, they have names for help. Mulder Plumbing has been my plumber for 50 years. I would highly recommend this local company.

I had issues with both my hot water heater and gas boiler. The hot water heater had previously been looked at by a plumber from another company who said he didn't know how to fix it, but he would be happy to sell me a new heater. In contrast, the plumber from Mulder looked at it and relit the pilot light. Problem solved. My gas boiler wasn't clicking on, so the plumber from Mulder cleaned out the muck that had accumulated and gave me a fast education of how to take better care of the boiler. I was treated with respect, courtesy and honesty.

Terribly rude to customers, they were insulting when we questioned the high price and then stormed out when we looked the part up online to find out it was $500 cheaper than he quoted. Will never use these guys!!!

Called Mulder because I was having a problem with my hot water heater and they were a local company. They said it sounded like I would have to have it replaced and they would send someone over.

The guy arrived, looked at it, and told me I would need a new one. When I asked him how much it would cost, he quoted me a price nearly double what the standard rate is. I asked him why it was so expensive when I know other people who've had theirs replaced much cheaper, and he told me that I should call whoever they used then. He also said he would go back to the office, see if they could get the replacement unit, and get back to me on the final price.

Another person from Mulder called me back a short while later and quoted me a price $300 cheaper than what they told me in person. I told them that I had already hired another company who was going to do the work for even less money than their new discounted quote. He then started grilling me ""do they have business license?"", ""are they licensed in the state of NJ"", ""do you own your home?"". etc. What a joke.

Sorry, but I don't have time for your silly games.

Beware of this company's services, prices, and practices.

Mulder Plumbing scammed me and was very blatant at it. They seemed well practiced at the whole process.
On November 15, I discovered water in my basement and called Mulder. I believed leak was coming from one of the return pipes in my steam heat system. There was quite a bit of rust and water near the pipe and I told the plumber when he arrived Nov 22.
The con; they replaced the pipe with a double-join, and tried to sell me on replacing additional pipe for $100 more. My uncle who is a plumber from Long Island, later told me that neither was standard.
After Mulder left, I noticed that the water was still coming from the pipe and spent some more time investigating. T found that the water was actually leaking from the basement washer-feed host (which was wrapped around the heating return pipe) and replace the hose myself $2.50.
When I called Mulder I asked them to return the amount of their assessment fee. I explained my finding, but they were rude, and told me that they repaired what 'you told us to repair', and we don't do refunds.
I was robbed, and would advise you never to deal with these thieves... EVER!!
