Is your list of tasks getting longer? Does your house require more little fixes than you can manage? We can help you get it sorted!

We specialize in small jobs for your home repair needs. We handle the little jobs that no one else wants to do. Our work is limited to quick in-and-out jobs that take no more than a day or two. Most tasks take 6 hours or less. We do not handle projects that are more than 8 feet off the ground. Our insurance does not cover that type of work.

Any roofing tasks, gutter installations, and fascia repairs above 8 feet are outside our services.

We offer reasonable rates and can provide references. We are insured and registered as a Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor.

We started in January 1989 during a tough economic time as a home building and renovation contractor, operating as Leonardi's Carpentry Co in Shrewsbury, MA. In the early years, we faced challenges but eventually established ourselves and worked with many fantastic clients. Currently, we are a two-person team dedicated to urgent service calls, small carpentry projects, and handyman repairs as The Helpful Handyman Co. We have shifted away from home building, additions, kitchen and bath remodels, and roofing. Our focus is entirely on small home repairs.

I began my career as a construction laborer in 1977 before becoming a young carpenter apprentice. After a couple of years, I gained experience as a frame and finish carpenter, collaborating with reputable contractors such as Gifford Construction, Granger Corp., and DAS Construction.

In early 1989, I launched my own carpentry contracting business, meeting new people and taking on interesting projects. I worked in various locations throughout the year, performing home building, additions, remodeling, and more.

In recent years, I transitioned to the handyman side of the business, adding the ""handyman"" title and dropping ""carpentry."" Now, The Helpful Handyman Co focuses solely on small repairs and urgent service calls, leaving general contracting in the past.
