Is your to-do list growing larger? Is your home in need of numerous small repairs that you can't find time for? We’re here to assist you.

We specialize in small jobs for your home repair needs. We only take on the small jobs that others overlook. We only take on small jobs that can be completed in a day or two. The majority of our jobs are completed in 6 hours or less. We avoid jobs that require work over 8 feet high. Our insurance does not cover that type of work.

Any roofing tasks, gutter installations, and fascia repairs above 8 feet are outside our services.

Our rates are fair, and we provide checkable references. We are insured and registered as a Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor.

Our company began in January 1989 in a difficult economy, working as a home building and renovation contractor under the name Leonardi's Carpentry Co in Shrewsbury, MA. After some slow initial years, we found our footing and worked with many wonderful clients along the way. Now, we are a small two-man operation that specializes in urgent service calls, small carpentry jobs, and general handyman repairs under The Helpful Handyman Co. We have shifted away from home building, additions, kitchen and bath remodels, and roofing. Our focus is entirely on small home repairs.

I began my career as a construction laborer in 1977 before becoming a young carpenter apprentice. After a couple of years, I gained experience as a frame and finish carpenter, collaborating with reputable contractors such as Gifford Construction, Granger Corp., and DAS Construction.

In early 1989, I established my own carpentry contracting business, meeting new clients and tackling various projects. I took on projects in various locations, including home building, additions, and remodeling.

In the last few years, I have moved towards handyman services, emphasizing the ""handyman"" aspect and stepping back from ""carpentry."" Now, The Helpful Handyman Co is strictly a small job repair and urgent service call specialist, leaving general contracting behind.
