Jeff S.Like many on here lately I am beyond disappointed with the ""service plan"" offered by HELP!. Let's start with the 96% right the first time. I can't believe that is true, not just because mine is 0% but because they can't even tell you what they are tracking it at. Like others I was surprised that mid July was the first time they could schedule routine summer maintenance. THEN they had to cancel because they had too many emergencies. I know they had too many emergencies the day before as well because they accidentally called me the day before thinking my appointment was on a different day. When I called to reschedule I was quoted an earliest date 5 weeks after my original appointment. In addition when I asked to speak to a service supervisor (not the first time) I was told they don't come to the phone and they would reach out to me in 3-4 days after the call center rep sent an email. My displeasure started well before this experience when after spending the money for them to install a new furnace and AC they had to come back 6 weeks later because I had no heat. I had to drag out of the technician that his assessment was that the set up was incorrect versus the equipment being faulty. Just some information for you to consider when evaluating HELP!
Nichole R. Your standard reply to every bad review does no good for anyone. How about one of the service manages call me back like I was told would happen over a week ago.
Jill S.HELP is anything BUT helpful. Our toilet was slowly leaking water which was dripping down to the basement. HELP arrived at 5 pm and took the toilet apart and left it on the floor beside where it should sit. Tech said wrong size flange was used. Left to go get the correct size and return. 2 1/2 hours later; no tech and he's not returning my calls to his cell. I called the office and she said she'd call me back. Never received call back. This was Friday evening. We had a party planned for Saturday. This was the guest bath on main floor. Finally at 8:30 pm he returns. When confronted he stated he had to travel to KY to get correct size flange????? I do not want to embarrass myself and tell you what this ""learning lesson"" cost me. When I complained to their office, they sent me $100 in coupons for next visit. NEVER would I used them again.
Horrible deceitful company that is over priced and signed us up for a subscription with out even consulting us. we only knew it had happen once we were charged. We didn't even use their services for more that a quote.
We have been a regular customer (both home & business), paying a monthly fee, which I have always thought would get us pretty good service. I called in mid-April for our home's Spring Start-Up & was told the earliest appointment would be MID-JULY!! Summer will be half over by then......so I quickly found that regular, loyal customers mean NOTHING to this company. I called a company that came with great recommendations & they will be here this week. Needless to say, no more monthly charges from this company for our home. Such a disappointment & waste of money!!!
I had a service contract for several years with HELP. I would not recommend them because their primary goal is sales not service. A great indicator is to look at the job posting on Indeed. The blinders came off when I requested multiple service call on a water softener that was using too much salt. The tech arrived and told me that I had ordered the wrong parts for a reverse osmosis system filter that HELP had changed in the past. I had the part and He wanted to charge me $59 for a diagnostic fee. Then he started talking about the water softener and the brand that they had been ""trained"" on. Which was a red flag. For the most part they repair what they sell. When I started to question his knowledge base he questioned the tone which I was talking to him. Me the customer! Bottom line they will ALWAYS say what you have needs to be replaced and the knowledge base for both plumbers and HVAC is limited to maintain what they sell you while they are looking for something else to replace.
Called for service on a Rheem hot water heater in December. Timely appointment and nice repairman. Problem was he told me he knew nothing about Rheem hot water heaters. Why send him? He called the manufacturer and didn't really get anywhere. Offered me a quote on a new hot water heater that ""Help"" sells. My is 6 years old and fixed with a 30.00 part myself after some internet research. I wanted to support this company due to their support for veterans but big mistake. Request for service call refund unanswered. On the BBB next. Save yourself some grief. No ""Help"" found here. No wonder they advertise so much. Lesson learned.
Karen P.Originally, I called HELP to do a checkup on the furnace. I was told there was a crack in the furnace and shown a photo of the crack. Only a photo, not the actual crack. The service person said that he needed to red tag it, but would not do that because then the gas would be shut off and he didn't want us to be without heat. At the time, I thought how kind and considerate of HELP, but now my opinion of your company has changed considerably.
""Luckily,"" a salesperson just happened to be in the neighborhood who then stopped by to tell us about different furnaces. We decided not to spend the $16,000.00 to replace it. The salesperson then left. There was no follow up from HELP. If the furnace should have been red tagged, I assume that it was pretty dangerous, but from your lack of due diligence apparently it was not.
When I made the appointment, I signed up for the club membership but was NOT told that it was a 12 month contract. After this debacle, I wrote to the address provided to cancel my membership but received no response. I called and was told I could not cancel the membership. I will let it expire but I will make sure that I never say a good word about HELP. I will go out of my way to make sure no one else is taken advantage of by your company in the future.
Horrible service!!! This is our 2nd time using HELP and will never do it again. The first time we had a drain backed up. We didn't know who to use and had seen one of their trucks in our neighborhood, so we gave them a call. They scheduled us for an appointment for a couple of days out. The appointment day arrived and they called and told me they were backed up and had to cancel. We thought... things happen and rescheduled. The guy came and cleared the back up in minutes. This week we had another back up. Called them 2 days ago and they scheduled us for between 10 & 2 today. Now an hour before the appointment they called and canceled again, because they were backed up. This is ridiculous and evidently they think this is OK to do business this way. We have to make arrangements to get off of work which isn't easy just to have them cancel. We called Thomas and Galbraith and they will be here today sometime before 10 pm. Due to what HELP did I asked again to confirm they would be here today and they stated yes...""I don't know the time, but once your are on the books someone will be there that day."" That's the way to do business.
Update : HELP is what this company needs !! Even after posting this review , they have yet to contact me . Do Not Use this company , evidently they are not professional about any of their work .
I had my gas furnace go out in the middle of the night. I was able to call and get service scheduled for the next morning. The tech came out, pulled everything apart and cleaned the lines. Found a clog somewhere and it was at this point he kept pushing for a while new furnace. Wanted to charge double the price for switches since he had to go to dayton if I wanted it fixed the same day. I said I would wait for them to come in. Told me how cold it is going to be and kept pushing for a new furnace. I still said no. He left with the entire furnace pulled apart and unable to turn back on. I reconnected all of the hoses and wires. It fired right up and functioned. My family and I would be freezing this Thanksgiving if it was up to him. I definitely would highly advise you not to hire these people. I have used Arlinghouse in the past and strongly recommend them.
