In 1976, Andrew and Eleanor Heggemann established a union plumbing firm called Heggemann Plumbing Company. They operated the business from their residence in Warrenton. Their services included reliable plumbing work in Warren, Lincoln, and St. Charles County.

At the beginning, their three sons and two daughters helped out in the shop, office, and sometimes in the field. Andrew and two journeymen plumbers focused on fieldwork, while Eleanor took care of office operations. Paul started his journey as a full-time apprentice plumber in 1981.

In 1983, their son Ron began his career as a plumber's laborer. In 1985, Paul earned his journeyman certification, with Ron achieving the same in 1993. Their daughter Linda joined the office team in 1987. Thanks to family and other experienced plumbers, Andrew was able to grow the business into commercial plumbing. Eleanor retired in 1995, and Linda assumed full-time responsibilities in the office.
