My HVAC went out with an outside temperature of 92°F. I diagnosed the problem and found out that the run/start capacitor was bad. I Calle HB Home service and a technician arrived with a new part. They charged me $288 for a capacitor that is available on Amazon for under $15, that was just the part, no labor. I expect to pay more because of the situation, but not 20% more. I called the service manager during g working hours, he would not adjust the price. Be advised to make sure what your are getting before deciding to engage HB Home services.
Easy online process to schedule. Had a 12-4 pm window. Tech came at 12:15 and did a very thorough job troubleshooting the issue. Took about 1 hour from start to finish.

Nicholas narrowed the time when he would arrive. He got right to servicing the HVAC and hot water tank and covered his shoes while in the house. Overall, I'm pleased with this service call.
HB Home Service has been providing maintenance to our Heating/AC system for the past several years. Alex, our technician, today, was extremely knowledgeable about the science and mechanics of our system. He made worthwhile recommendations and answered a long series of questions. He was professional in every respect while maintaining a friendly demeanor. It was clear that Alex enjoys the technical aspects of his work and equally enjoys interaction with his clients.
I've used HB for a variety of plumbing and hvac work over the last few years. they are professional, courteous, and do fantastic work whether the job is big (new heat pump in the middle of July) or small.
The price is always competitive too. It's nice to have a company that I trust when I need them.

Timothy B.Had them out to the house three timesin the last year - once to service HVAC on the house since we just bought it, once for an estimate on a humidifier installation, and once to do the installation. We had superstars every time. Techs were great, showed up on time, and were very helpful with side questions and efficient getting the job done. Cost for service was definitely reasonable. No issues, nothing but good experiences so far. We'll be sticking with them for future projects.
I had a mini split that I bought from HB McClure for $4000 and they have been out to ""fix"" it 7 times in 3 years now they tell us that even though the part is covered under warranty that they are going to charge us a flat rate of $700 ( refuse to give an itemized invoice) just to install the part.The service technician told us they it would take about 20 minutes to install. So this company wants $700 to install a warranty covered part.so again 8 times to fix a mini split that cost $4000 and has a 10 year warranty on all parts but this company want to charge $700 for 20 minutes work on a warranty part.
I will never use this company again!
We came back from vacation and our A/C was not working so we called for a technician to come look at our unit. He charged us 300 dollars and told us our motor was bad. The fuse was blown but he refused to change that out to see if that was just the problem so he said they would order a new motor on Monday (this was Friday night). After he left my husband ran to lowes and bought a new fuse to see if that would fix the problem. It did. The motor is completely fine, it was just a blown fuse, which we later found out there was a storm the night before so that may have been what blew it. We tried getting all or even part of our 300 dollars back since the technician did nothing and misdiagnosed the problem but they will not refund us a cent. Do not use this company if you want an honest person to do any work for you!
*since the owner responded to our review and I can't find a way to respond to it, I will update this review because they are making it seem that we haven't already talked to multiple people, the technician DID misdiagnose our problem by saying our motor was bad and his fix was to replace a motor that was still good instead of replacing the fuse that was bad. The technician did not in any way say anything about it being a bad fuse that just needed to replaced, Lowes is right down the street and we had it fixed (on our own) within 30 minutes. If we would have followed their diagnosis, we would have spent even more money replacing something that wasn't broken. Like I said, it's a fairly new unit which is under warranty but we still would have been paying hundreds more for the labor to fix something that didn't need fixed. They charged us 300 DOLLARS to come over for less than half an hour to give us a wrong diagnosis. If this company wants to do the honest thing, they would take action to refund the majority of our money minus the 20 dollars they paid the technician (who needs re-trained) to come out to our house. But unfortunately they are all about taking peoples money.
