I booked for an annual service for 2 HVAC units in my 2 BR condo. They quoted $237 and charged me double that -- saying it was the price per unit -- a lie. They spent between 30-40 minutes in my apartment and I provided the new filters. Highway robbery!

Horrible Service - Had a plumber here for over 6 hours, and eventually had to ask her to leave. She could not find a shut off valve for over 2 hours, was on the phone with her clown supervisor at least 20 times, and got nothing fixed. Had to call another plumber to fix their work. I phoned their CEO after dealing with her incompetent manager and the CEO never phoned back. Hack company. I can see by their reviews that I am not the only one that their pitiful work has aggravated. NOT in a million years would I tell anyone to deal with these clowns. Process broken from beginning to the end, and the plumber learning OTJ (on the job) is not right. Keep on providing these reviews, it helps people not waste their money on pathetic companies like Hayes Mechanical. Good luck and good riddance.
PS - I paid them in full - they threatened collections on me. Southside mob mentality at this place. You don't get what you pay for in this case.

The piping that connects my condo building's central air conditioner with my apartment started leaking in July, and the building engineer recommended asking Hayes Mechanical to fix the leak. We did so. A Hayes technician came and was able to deal with the problem in something like 30 or 45 minutes. So far so good. The problem is, five weeks later we received a $331 bill for ""labor and consumables."" I objected, asking for a breakdown. According to the e-mail I got from Hayes, the technician claimed he'd been in the apartment for an hour and a half (he hadn't). Because my partner (who'd contacted Hayes) inexplicably hadn't asked for a cost estimate, I felt I had no choice but to pay.

The lesson: while Hayes may do good work, they will charge you a small fortune for doing so, even if that requires lying about the time required. If you use their services, demand a cost estimate in writing before they start.

My mechanic, Ed, was super helpful and thorough with his work. He took the time during diagnosis to explain to me exactly what was going on despite my limited knowledge of AC systems. He was very patient afterwards as well to explain to me how the system works overall.

Both Ed, and the service manager, Kevin, were also excellent in assisting me with my home warranty company to call and get approval for repairs as they were reimbursing me for my work with Hayes. There were long wait times, and conversations Kevin had on his own, likely totaling an extra hour of support, which him and Ed both did very willingly and without any frustration. It was much appreciated. Highly recommend!

I had a plumbing issue where our ground level toilet wouldn't flush and we were getting debris up through our bathtub drain. I see the Hayes Mechanical trucks in our neighborhood often so I gave them a call. While their schedule was pretty full for the next week, Tim, the plumber who took my call asked me a series of questions and diagnosed what he thought the problem would be. He seemed genuinely interested in helping me understand what might be the root cause, even if they weren't going to be the one doing the work. And while timing might not work this time around I will definitely consider Hayes Mechanical the next time we have an issue.

Esmerelda, their plumber, was fantastic, knowledgeable and pleasant, and got my kitchen sink unclogged and running like a champ. I would definitely recommend, particularly ask for Esmerelda, a great example of women in the plumbing profession.

Hayes mechanical charged $830.30 to change a filter because ""they didn't have a proper ladder"" and took 4 hours to retrieve one. They purposely took over 3 hours just to get a ladder and then charged for those 3 hours as overtime plus the regular hour it took for them to change an air filter. As a mechanical company that specializes in heating and air conditioning as they advertised, they should have came prepared with a proper ladder. Especially, if they had come to this location previously, as we had a contract with them. An air filter change should be as outrageous as $150. Just to come and take a look at it shouldn't cost an extra $700.00 for them forgetting their ladder and arriving extremely late. I would like to write this review so it can report their improper misconduct so no one else gets charged $830.30 for arriving late, forgetting their ladder, and changing an air filter.

They came out 3 times to my apartment for a hot water plumbing issue in one of my showers. After 3 visits and 3 different plumbers, I have now been charged 3 times and spent half a day at a plumbing store buying parts that the third guy decided we didn't actually need... and still not fixed. DO NOT USE THEM. horrible customer service and still haven't fixed the problem.
