Requested to have my water heater checked out and as I thought I needed a new one. I asked how long? and Ken said today. Worked for me. Ken was very professional and explained everything in detail. Ken had it installed and ready to go in a couple of hours. I highly recommend Benjamin Franklin Plumbing.
I purchased a Groupon to have my water heater flushed. Something I have never done in 19+ years of living in the house. Ken and Richard from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing came and figured out the water heater was 33 years old! I bought a new one on the spot and they installed it right then. They also, replaced the both the hot and cold water spigot for my washer, something I had been putting off for over a year! They were professional and personable! I highly recommend Benjamin Franklin Plumbing!

The technician that came to the house was very friendly but this company's pricing scheme is ridiculous. $60 for just the inspection with a minimum base price of around $600. I would strongly avoid this company for any menial plumbing needs.
Sarah B.We were out of town and there was sewer backing up on one of our duplexes. Usually we have someone to take care of this or use our home warranty. To simplify, I asked the tenant to just find someone and call us for payment. They take my card up front for the service fee of $59. Once on site, the tech calls me and says: we charge $350 to clear the main line and another $350 to pull a toilet. I can't remember what came out of my mouth but it wasn't ladylike. He says ""yeah, we're an expensive company"". I told him to go home. Now in after hours territory, I called another company who did it for $140 inclusive of service fee and after hours surcharge. I wrote a smaller negative review about the price gouge on Yelp and received a call from the manager the next day. He says the technicians been reprimanded and acted (incorrectly) of his own accord. They actually have a $99 special to do the job we needed! He told me they would refund me the $59 service fee and to call him direct in the future. I greatly appreciate the concern and gestures taken to smooth things over. Plumbing issues never go away so I will need help in the future and would offer them another shot; dealing direct with the manager.
This is just another consumer beware lesson; try to get multiple bids if at all possible (simply to educate yourself).
They did the work, but it was almost $300 to sweat in a few inches of 1/2"". The tech tried to pressure me into replacing a little or a lot more for another $300-600. It felt like upsell to me, so I didn't go for it. That was a year ago, and it's still fine.
I was over a barrel because I was out of town and had to do it over the phone. I feel like they took advantage of me, so I will look elsewhere for my next job.

The Benjamin Franklin Plumbing representative, Robert, was the best plumber in my entire adult life. Knowledgable, fast, neat, total clean up with very clear instructions on the options to purchase, warranty and after sale service for a water heater.

Very shady. My 72 year old mother had a leaking water heater. She called different businesses but somehow still got connected to Benjamin Franklin. She was told by the plumber she had to purchase and install a new one. She had that done (very expensive) and then they wanted her to purchase a warranty for the new water heater. She didn't want to, being as they wanted to charge her an additional $2,500 for the warranty. She said no, but the tech persisted. Again she said she would think about it, but continued to be pressured. Basically, the man didn't want to leave without her purchasing the $2,500 warranty. After much pressure, she gave in because she wanted the tech to leave her house. Being as she is on a fixed income, she couldn't really afford it. She has called the company to perhaps reverse the warranty, but they will not give her the money back. My husband and cousin have also called on behalf of my mother, but the company claims they never received any calls regarding this situation, and do nothing to resolve this rip-off.
To there credit they were prompt in calling to apply pressure 2 Me. $79.00 to tell Me how much it'll cost 2 not use them (est) doesn't sound right U kiss your $$$ good-bye 2 not accept the bid???
