I will say while on the phone with the owner it was very confrontational to say the least. He had said he will not warranty any work if we buy the parts yet his employees showed my wife online and pointed what to purchase. He also said bath tub overflows are not intended to be used and are typically not water tight. The work done was right before we had the water damage event. There was no issue with the overflow prior to work being done. A simple visit could have been done stating 'no charge' to assess the situation would have helped but that apparently was not an option.

UPDATE: Had another plumber out and they confirmed that a few fixtures were not installed properly and that the leak was 50% the fault of tub overflow. Ideally one would go back to the plumber that installed item, but Thomas has already shown us that he will absolutely NOT take any ownership of mistakes. How quickly he will belittle us. And guess what? After talking to a few people in town, it is common knowledge that the owner treats his customers and employees poorly. Very confrontational and places blame on others at every chance. OH! And it was his employee who showed me what exactly to purchase on amazon for the tub overflow! He stated it would be better and quicker to not go through Hawkeye Plumbing for fixtures! Truth! Stacy, owner's wife, responded below but didn't address the issue of the owner giving poor customer service. Seems about right.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: Will not use again. We have paid thousands and hired them for multiple jobs but it wasn't until we witnessed & realized the awful accountability shown by the owner, Tom (Tim? who cares). If you purchase your own plumbing trim/fixtures he will not cover a single thing if it is not installed properly by Hawkeye Plumbing. No grey area. If you purchase your own stuff and they make a mistake on installation, Hawkeye waives all liability and blames you for picking the fixture out. Literally tells you "it's all your fault". (never offered a catalog of his faucet or trim options, nor knew that there was any other option than to purchase myself what I wanted in my house) When we called him too ask about an issue (regardless if it was his fault, the plumbing, installation or trim fixtures at fault) he was extremely condescending, degrading, rude, manipulative and gaslit us beyond belief. We had him on speaker and my entire family sat there with their mouths dropped at how horrible he was speaking to us. Plumbing Issue I had called about: My tub overflow was leaking to the floor below and he immediately laughed and blamed me for using it in the fort place. Told us in no way shape or form that he was at fault. Dude, we just wanted your help with a diagnosis, no need to get defensive. But he made it clear that since I picked out the facade for the downspout that this was all my fault. (what?) THENNNN.... when I looked at his last invoice and read his comments, he stated that there were leaky angle valves under sinks that he had worked on...BUT LEFT the house without calling me to tell me or without fixing them....I can only assume this is so that the pipes will become a bigger problem and we would have to call him back out so he could charge us more $150 for one hour minimum fee. I KNOW they do not take that long to fix and it could've been done quickly. NO attention to customer service or problematic issues. The two stars are for the "good" job his employees did when they installed six toilets, six lav fixtures, two kitchen sink fixtures, two shower trims and a few angle spouts under sinks. They were kind and worked hard. We had to call them back a few times to correct a few things, and of course were charged an hourly rate of $150 per hour plus trip fees for those calls. I could go on with more issues but this guy honestly just needs some vitamin D, serotonin, something to help become a nicer person.

This company was fast to respond for general questions and a quote, even though we were still deciding. Then a family member said they would install the toilet so we had to tell Hawkeye we didn't need them after all. Said family member ended up bailing and I had to call Hawkeye again and they were just as professional and sweet. Perfect balance. So we made the appointment. Then we had to move it up and they were so amazing to move it up a whole week and get it installed the next day! The actual installation was fast and they did an amazing job! We will call them for any other plumbing needs we ever have and will spread their name to friends and family. Truly excellent company with honesty, integrity and thorough work and great customer service! Thank you times 10000000

Excellent communication, excellent work. His guys are also very polite and personable as well. He completely redid the plumbing on a 1920s Fairmount house project for me and made sure everything was done right. He is very detail oriented - for example leaving a blind gas line in case I want to convert from electric to gas dryer in the future, and making time to come back and put shower heads and faucets on after all other work is done to the project so other workers don't use them for construction applications. But I'll just say one more time that the best thing is the excellent communication.

My husband and I have been doing an addition on our house and we called three plumbers to come out to give us estimates on it. One didn't show, another gave one price and then another later, and another was extremely expensive! My friend had recently been doing a remodel and gave me Hawkeye's number... Thomas (owner) showed up the same day and did the work we needed at a lower cost than any of the others had quoted and did excellent work. We later had to do a top out for our plumbing fixtures and his assistant, James, came and helped us with the estimate. He was honest, open, a veteran, and gave us another unbeatable quote. Can't say I could be more pleased with this company.
