We highly recommend Hawkeye Home Inspections and Mr. Daniel Fox. Dan was incredibly patient and knowledgeable and provided us with amazing customer service. We got our report the same day, and it was balanced, incredibly thorough and was a trustworthy report we will reference again and again if we are ultimately the owners of our new home. We learned so much during the inspection, not only about the condition of the home we were considering, but also a number of things to consider as home owners, or be aware of for the future with regards to safety, efficiency, cost, and structural integrity of the home. This was so worth the money - I would never hesitate to get a Hawkeye inspection for any property we're considering prior to purchase. We didn't even have to take notes - the report had absolutely everything we discussed and that was noted during the inspection, along with pictures. So great!!

Dan was very detailed in the inspection conveying the information as he went and explaining everything so that I would completely understand. He was very prompt in completing the hard copy of the report and getting the results to me. Great person, I highly recommend him. Dan has many years experience in the field.

We had two amazing experiences with Hawkeye - when we were preparing to put an offer on our home, Neil came out the following morning. We didn't know at the time of booking but we would only have enough tome for a consultation, not a full inspection. Neil was still so thorough, friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging of questions. After our offer was accepted, we wanted to do a full inspection a our new home was actually a very old home! Unfortunately the time we needed, Neil was not available, but Mike came out and impressed us all over again. Again, very friendly, made us feel as though there were no dumb questions, and empowered us with so much information about old homes, and the condition ours was in. I also had several very positive experiences over the phone with staff at Hawkeye! We highly recommend.

A 5 star review for Daniel Fox of Hawkeye home inspections: With a shiny personality and positive outlook, he explains in detail all aspects/ possibilities/ ideas for repairing of all parts of the home. He is patient as he answers clients' questions. He is not an alarmist. He takes detailed pics and send a detailed report in a timely fashion. He makes himself available for questions after the inspection as well. The report is filled with ideas and links to useful sites. Would highly recommend Daniel!

My wife and I had our inspection done in April for our first house. Our inspector, Kurt, was thorough for most elements of the house but missed some very important structural issues in the basement. He did not notice the floor joist that was splitting apart above the washing machine or the bowing of joists that were under the kitchen and adjacent pantry. According to his report, there were no structural issues. The contract states we only have 10 days to dispute and we didn't move into the house until months later. Those are structural issues that should have been easily identified and marked. Instead of having that information in advance we are trying to fix it.

Shopping for a home is a stressful process. One thing that made me rest easy was knowing Tom Scannell from Hawkeye Inspectors was there to make sure we knew what we were getting ourselves into before moving forward with the purchase of a home -- the biggest investment of our lives. My husband and I thought we had found the house of our dreams until Tom came in and found what TWO OTHER home inspectors had missed before him -- knob and tube electricity still leftover from the early 1900s! This is something dangerous that the current owners didn't even know about! His diligence so far surpassed our expectations, he even discovered that a nearby garbage sorting facility was smelly in the summertime (we saw the house in October) and that the facility sprayed ""fruit smells"" in the air to mask it. Gross! This is something as first-time home buyers we would have never known or even thought to ask. We ended up passing on this home and moving on to another. The next home he inspected came out with far fewer issues, and we can't wait to move in! We never could have done it without Tom. He goes above and beyond for his company and his customers. He made me feel absolutely sure that we were making the right decision for our family. He won't leave the premises without making you feel at ease about everything. I couldn't recommend him more. I used both Neil and Peter for a home inspection and they were both excellent. They were so outgoing, and both brought snacks and water to our apppointment. Peter even gave me a small framed picture of the house I was buying - so sweet. They were both so knowledgeable and thorough. They made the entire experience very pleasant and productive. Plus, they have an excellent online system to schedule and pay for your inspection.

Michael was very thorough and professional in his inspection. He explained the issues found whether it was a minor or a major concern. He did not over exceed the boundaries that were necessary but zeroed in on what should be looked at. I felt very comfortable with his assessment, he was respectful to us and believe he did an honest inspection that covered the applicable issues for us the buyer. I would rate Hawkeye Company an A++ and Mike as there employee the same. After dealing with other inspection companies I would not hesitate to highly recommend Hawkeye to anyone who would need this type of service.
