Wow - I cannot recommend Hawkeye enough. Wish there was a button for 6 stars!
We were recommended Hawkeye by our realtor, and the process was quick and smooth. It was a Wednesday, we called for an appointment, and we were able to get Saturday. We got there a few minutes early, and our inspector, Patrick, was already on-top of things. He was inspecting the outside. It was about 90 degrees outside and he had pants and a collared shirt in professional wear, and did not complain once. As first time homebuyers, Patrick walked us through every little detail and even recommended fixes for us. He is such a nice guy.
Moving inside, Patrick offered us food and cold drinks, what a nice touch. I recommend getting the additional mold and radon tests - they are very detailed and reassuring. A house is a huge investment! We ended up getting hundreds of pages of inspection reports, advice and documentation to keep our house maintained, and a dummy guide that helps someone like me simply understand things.
This is truly where Hawkeye shines - the attention to detail, customer service, and accountability. Because the house was newly renovated, the mold test was overloaded. I must've spoken with their customer service representative about 10 times that day because I didn't have my stuff together and was stuck in meetings throughout the day. Peter, the owner of Hawkeye, was very friendly and offered us a free 2nd mold test to make up for something that wasn't his fault.
I truly want to thank Hawkeye, and will be recommending them to all my friends when they purchase a home!

We had the inspection done in Dec 2017. Now we find out that the floors slope badly - one end is almost 2"" higher than the other end, which is not reported by the inspector. I don't understand how this can be missed? To level a sloping floor is extremely expensive. I am so pissed.

We just had our home inspection done by Kurt and everything about it was great. When I called they were able to schedule us for the next day. Everything went smoothly, Kurt was very professional and personable. I would definitely recommend Hawkeye!

I used Hawkeye to inspect the home that we were buying. There was no mention of them not being able to gain access to a room in the basement due to the previous owners dog being in there. We found a pipe wrapped in a towel with what looks like leakage in the closet in that room after we bought the house. I reached out to Hawkeye for explanation and assistance (after all, we had to pay over $500 for the inspection) and no assistance or compassion was received. I would not recommend their services.

I had Peter the owner - he was fantastic. He is a professional through and through with deep experience. If you have an older house which is common in Massachusetts you need someone who knows what things are and what to look for - he has been doing inspections for many years and teaches his assistants along the way. You will learn all about your new home and he will provide you a professional report within 24 hours and a really nice binder.

Also, you will be entertained by him - he makes the experience enjoyable with his quick wit!

We regretted hiring this company. Peter was one of those ""old dirty men"" who kept hitting on my wife and cracking inappropriate jokes, more concerned with us than than doing his job. He inspected our home and assured us everything was fine, but after we purchase it we discovered major problems that Peter said he was not responsible for and ""just happened"" to fail a week after his inspection.

Do yourself a favor and hire another company or (like many of neighbors did) hire independent plumbers, electricians, and HVAC contractors to inspect your home. At least they'll specialize in those areas and give you expert reports/feedback.

Peter and his team are exceptional. I can't say enough positive things about Hawkeye inspectors. Waking up bright and early on a Saturday morning for a home inspection, I was prepared to be in for a long day...

Boy was I pleasantly surprised. Peter and his colleague were extremely patient with our questions and meticulous in their inspection of the house. They were also kind enough to bring snacks and drinks for everyone.

Peter also has a great sense of humor and had me laughing throughout the inspection - making the process not only extremely informative, but fun at the same time!

Being a first time homebuyer, I learned so much during the inspection and would not hesitate to use Hawkeye inspectors in the future.
