Jackie M.So happy with Haven Plumbing. They called me back immediately and showed up when they were supposed to. Pricing is very fair. Will be using them again.
Warning!!! Stay away from this company! They are despicable human beings and are price gauging because they feel they can. I just had an emergency service call for a broken part on our boiler. The technician was literally guessing at what the problem could be...""maybe your boiler is out of water, or maybe the batteries in your thermostat needs replacing."" Mind you, he was in my home already so it should be pretty easy to figure out that it wasn't that. I then suggested that we thought it was the zone valve, and sure enough, he agreed with me. He of course did not have a replacement valve in his truck and had to run out to Home Depot to get it. We were given a quote of $475 including the service call and out of desperation on a Saturday, I agreed to the price as he was running out the door. He also said that if we paid him cash, he would knock off the tax and ""eat that amount"".
While he was gone, I called Haven's service center and spoke to the receptionist inquiring about the price breakdown. I couldn't figure out how a replacement valve was $350 (we googled Home Depot prices and some valves are as inexpensive as $20). She said she would need to speak to our serviceman John and her boss/owner and then someone would call me back. This was immediately fishy to me as it seems there should be a standard charge for the valve. I never received a call back from them.
The serviceman was gone for over 30 minutes and took 20 minutes to fix the valve once he returned. In total, he was physically in my house doing work for less than 40 minutes. At the time of payment, I asked to have a breakdown of the receipt which was as follows: $125 for the service call, $175 for the parts and labor and $175 for labor on a Saturday. What???? So I am paying an additional $175 on top of the service call and parts (which he refused to show me a receipt for), simply because you came on a Saturday? I repeatedly asked to see the receipt from Home Depot and our serviceman refused, although he admitted that our quoted price was marked up. He then took a call in our driveway with the service center to ""explain the charges to them"".
I called the service center back and was placed on a call with the owner/manager who offered no additional insight into the apparent double dipping/double charging and proceeded to scream at me and berate me. He told me that I was wrong and this is how much we owe them, when clearly their pricing is completely arbitrary. All the while, the serviceman was in my dining room and it just made for an incredibly uncomfortable situation (my children were there also and I began to feel unsafe). We ended up paying them as the serviceman would not leave otherwise, despite still not agreeing to or understanding the extra charges.
I would urge you all to never give Haven plumbing your time or business unless you want to be ripped off, lied to and screamed at.
