Marilyn C.Used this company three times and all three times they came right out! From the person that takes your call to the workers all are so helpful and professional. Highly recommend. Appreciated them coming right out with the heat not working.
I had an electrical issue with my thermostat and required some significant rework to the furnace. This company came out to the house as promised within a few days. They guys were professional, clean and through. Highly recommend. Thank you so much!
Leonard T.I required a split heat pump system to be installed before July 19th,a very busy time of the year for them. They promised to do the best they could. I accepted the contract on July 10th, so time was short. Harwichport HVAC went beyond expectation and had the basic equipment installed by mid Saturday, July 13th. The electrical work to connect the system was completed by mid Monday July 15th, well before the required date. Kudos for their effort. They were easy to work with, and all involved were knowledgeable, competent and friendly. It was a pleasure to do business with them. Thanks to Nick, the estimator, who helped get the installation started, to Bob(?), the installation manager, to Chris who worked on Saturday to install the equipment, and to Dave, the electrician, who got it all connected in spite of my old electrical wiring. Be sure to check out this business if you need a new AC system.
As a 14 year customer, it is sad to see HPHC in operation. Perhaps it was an ownership change but our first problem was when we returned to our home on a December Sunday: no heat and it was 50 and falling. We called the advertised ""24/7 Emergency"" service. And called and called and called. No one showed up for 24 hours. We are loyal customers, so we excused that. Now, for two weeks (and two heat spells, the third starting) we have been without a/c. A service tech came out, confirmed that our first floor unit had to be replaced and told us he would have his office give us a quote on price and installation time. We never got a call and when we did, we were treated as if we ""misunderstood"" the tech and had just sat in the heat but we DID get a new appointment for another person to show up to give us an estimate and, no, we could not be told or even given an estimate for installation. Asking for a supervisor, a Mr. Willey, we were told he was ""unavailable"" but would call us right back. That was 4 days ago. We are done with this outfit. If you need a dependable and polite company to take care of your heat, a/c or generator needs, you should check out others. HPHC is, to put it mildly, overstretched and overcommitted.
I am absolutely shocked and really disheartened. After doing business with them for years, and despite what I found to be pretty steep charges, I was always satisfied. I NEVER uttered a complaint and always paid my bill. That is, until August. They came out to fix a shower issue. Claimed it was done. When I got back to my home it clearly was not done and had not been checked. Reported it. They sent someone out and now told me they would need to open up the wall. I asked to please provide scope and estimate and in September they said they would. Never happened. Yet they invoiced me and had the ""controller,"" ""Mo, harass me and shake me down to pay. I told him I had assumed that we'd get the estimate and that I would not be charged for work that had not been performed right. This guy should NOT be collecting debts when he clearly has no clue how to legally and professionally treat customers. All done with them. I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and Chamber of Commerce. I hope the $150 they say I owed them makes them happy because they lost me and hopefully others who have been treated improperly. Business must be slow these days.
Richard J.H Port drain and plumbing division responded to a clogged kitchen drain to my septic tank. About 20 mins after arriving the tech said he could not unclog the drain and that I needed to have the septic tank pumped first. He then hung around and chatted with the plumber I also had there to replace the sink piping.
The company billed me $295 for the drain tech who did not do anything. I agreed to pay $95 for the drain tech s time. A long running dispute over the $200 difference in the payment vs. the invoice ended with the firm telling me not to call them again in the future.
The accounts receivable manger was totally unreasonable and would not even try to see my side of the dispute. He just wanted the money
I would consider other firms before calling this one
I contracted Harwich Port Heating and Cooling to do replace an electrical meter. The electricians badly damaged my newly shingled home. I complained and the company accepted responsibility. I was given permission by the company to hire someone to repair the damage. When the repairs were completed. I was instructed to subtract the repairs from the bill for the electrical work and pay the balance. I did as I was instructed to do. A short time later, I began getting voicemails from a different individual from this company demanding that I pay in full. Despite the company having accepted responsibility via email, I was sent to collections and am now dealing with a tarnished credit rating.
I've been a customer for over 5 years and they have been always prompt and fair when it came to service. I have a Trane forced hot air heating and cooling system that is going on 7 years. I do the annual maintenance check of the system which is important and would recommend them.
I am the type who does a lot of research before spending my hard earned money. I've found that along with checking out publications such as ConsumerReports, etc. that word of mouth from folks who have dealt with products, companies and services ranks right up there in decision making. In looking for a company to install a stationary generator I had a number of friends and acquaintances suggest Harwichport Heating and Cooling co. In Harwichport,Ma.I had them install the generator and they did a wonderful job and were truly professional all the way. They finished the installation this very afternoon in the middle of a NORTHEAST snowstorm in order to help us just in case we would need it right away. Word of mouth can be a great advertisement for a company -you can bet I'll be talking this company up for sure!!!!
Brian G.It's nice to see a couple of good reviews for this company but I am afraid my experience has been very poor. The company was recommended to me and so I hired them to service and later repair a furnace and also install air conditioning. The repair failed within days of being ""fixed"" and the air conditioning system broke down during its second Summer. I don't even want to go back to them to address the problem. I am taking my business elsewhere.
