Diane C.Harry and his team did a beautiful job updating my kitchen. Project started and finished on schedule and total cost did not stray far from original estimate. I am very pleased with the final result and highly recommend Harry, who is a skilled craftsman.
Myrna M.I contracted Harry to build 3 radiator covers for my apartment. The entire experience was AMAZING!!!! Harry was on time with delivery and always on time for our appointments.
Harry was one of the most reliable, professional and experienced contractors I have ever worked with.
He was ALWAYS at the top of his craft. The radiator cover are spectacular!!!
He was meticulous in protecting my wood floors and furniture. He left my apartment in pristine condition!!!
The workmanship was wonderful!!! I would recommend him to anyone. I wish I could give him a 10 star rating.
David P.After 2 consecutive nightmares involving contractors for our bathroom, we did some serious research and found Harry. He was the only one of three more estimates to come in right away. He was also very personable and knowledgeable. His proposal was a little higher than others, but more detailed and specific, leading to no issues later on. Also, as an old contractor myself, I know that you truly get what you pay for. I tend to gravitate towards the higher ones. You'll forget about the cost, but live with the bathroom for years!
Well, that's exactly how it turned out. We are a bit nitpicky at times, but Harry just rolled right along with it and made the changes. In the end it was an outstanding job! If my wife is happy, I am happy.
Take the plunge, go with the best!
My office decided to use Harry to repair two heavily used trash drawers in our pantry. Both Harry and his staff were professional and nice to work with. We received exactly what we requested. The end result looks good and seems very sturdy. I would not hesitate to reach out to them for a second project.
Craig W.After losing the the supports under our deck to a mixture of dampness and carpenter ants I contacted Harry for some help. The top of the deck was made of teak and was still in good condition. Harry was able to expertly rebuild the supports to the original size and and re install the wood on the top. Harry was professional and my backyard was spotless when he left. I would absolutely recommend Harry to anyone looking for a great contractor.
Nicollette Q.I contacted Harry through Yelp and got a quick response and quote. He honestly gave me the best price to redo my kitchen and he did a great job. I live in a co-op so there were a lot of headaches to begin with (board approval) but he was patient and understanding for the most part. Overall my kitchen looks great!
David C.Harry was referred by window company and highly recommended. He is Lighting fast on the job and is a constant burst of energy all the time. He does not stop moving unless the job is done. He does have an secretary that pick up his calls and help organize his calendar and ect. So that was a very nice feature to have when i was dealing with him.
Harry help me install a storm door in a metal frame with concrete filling so it was not a easy job. we had him build a pvc frame for the storm door. concrete saddle and marble tiles. it was not cheap but completely worth it. the finish came out perfect and exactly what we was looking for. me and my wife could not be more happier with the job harry and his team delivered. My wife is a architecture and was impress with harry excellent carpenter skills and detail to perfection.
Would Highly Recommend Harry in his carpenter techniques, Very honest, trust worthy contractor, and with fair price quotes.
I know, everyone says hire a licensed contractor that you've vetted by seeing their work in person. And they say that for a reason, because my husband and I were really screwed over by an unlicensed guy who worked on our neighbor's house and really talked a good game. But he messed up our house so badly. He did stupid mistakes that even I knew were wrong (and I'm just an average DIYer). It was a living nightmare to watch this guy and his workers break antique fixtures, refuse to repair mistakes they made, not build cabinets and walls to my specifications, and paint things incorrectly with gobs of expensive paint. I was literally staying up late nights after they left to undo and redo these people's work.
So, you can imagine how relieved I was when we decided to fire that guy and look up on Yelp for someone new. Harry came over right away to give an estimate and pointed out all the mistakes the nightmare contractor did. He had great ideas for neatening up details to make everything look perfect and be built to last. His estimate was a little more expensive than I expected, but pretty close to what we were paying before, and I could tell that Harry's expertise and work ethic were way above average.
Harry himself came by most of the time to do the work, with assistants and subcontractors who cared as much as he did. He tiled an intricate backsplash, straightened walls, repaired several plumbing mistakes, and repaired cabinets (that my friends who are cabinet makers said would be nearly impossible/a total pain in the neck). He and his workers always swept and vacuumed after themselves, which was such a relief after experiencing utter disarray with the last people. And when a couple things were left unfinished or incorrectly done (some stains in our tub from the plumber, an unpainted sheetrock repair), Harry came by again until we were 100% satisfied in his work.
It's really hard to find someone you can trust in the contracting world. I've done several projects over a couple of homes and have seen the gamut of workers: cheap and shady, cheap and kind but not really great, expensive and shady, and then there's Harry (and Ariana in the office who deserves a shout out!), who stands by his workmanship and subcontractors and gets things done on time. I wish I hired him first for every project we've done, and he will always be the first person I call from now on.
Greg B.I used Harry's and his team services a year ago to renovate my studio apartment. The work consisted of a complete gut renovation of the apartment except for the kitchen. The only thing I had him do in my kitchen was gas and water pipes reallocation, which his team did according to my specifications. His team did an awesome job renovating my bathroom which included some heat and drain pipe relocation, wall and floor tile installation, shower install, vanity (mirror,et al),and toilet and sink. They installed new engineered wood flooring throughout the entire apartment and tile on my hallway entrance. I also had them install new sheetrock and sound proofing to 85% of the apartment which was a very wise decision since I have noisy neighbors. The painting and molding installation pricing was included in the new sheetrock wall installation. He also build a storage space in my hallway himself which came out really great. He also had his electrician install new outlets and wiring throughout the apartment and harry himself installed my ceiling light and fan in my living room. I also had him gut a wall so I could have exposed brick on one of my main walls. I was waiting a year to write this review because I wanted to see how the work he did held up for a year. The reason why I'm giving Harry 4 stars instead of 5 is because I had his electrician install in-wall cable tv sockets, so I would not have the ugly Time Warner cable running from my hallway to my modem exposed. When I had the cable guy over to install the modem there was no signal coming in through the sockets because the in-wall cable was not installed properly. In the end I was not able to get internet from them and I paid Harry extra for the cable in the wall work. Overall I was very happy with the work and I will definitely hire him and his team again. I have recommended his services to my family, friends, neighbors, and others. Thank you Harry!
Yes, a real 5-star review. Harry really is as good as people say. I needed a ceiling fan installed, and some tiles repaired in the bathroom. Harry came, quickly assessed the situation, laid out what the work entailed and provided a price. Followed up in a couple of hours with a formal quote, that laid out all the work that would be done (in detail, down to the painting, patching, grouting, everything - that way everyone knows what is getting paid for). He worked with my co-op board to get insurance paperwork taken care of, lead-paint riders, everything. ""I will be there at 9am on Monday."" And 9am on Monday he is there, I go off to work, throughout the job he's in touch with me to let me know what's happening and with any questions.
Now here's the bit that really makes him great: the fan had a defective motor controller. He called the manufacturer and they shipped a new one. I'm thinking, ""Great, so now I have to pay for the electrician to come back."" Nope - the new part came, the electrician came and fitted it. Didn't work. Ordered a new part. The electrician came again, fitted it, now it works. That's an additional 3 hours of work that I'm not charged for - Harry is a guy who takes the view that the job is done when it's done, and not before.
I would recommend him to anyone who needs a contractor - is he the cheapest? Probably not. But in this business you get what you pay for. And honestly, I would rather pay 10-20% more for a guy who I know does good work (I mean, he painted the whole ceiling after he installed the fan, ""I didn't want the patch to look different from the rest of the ceiling,""), comes when he says, cleans up after himself, is polite, organised, and communicates. The lady in his office, Adrianna, is incredible - she is On The Case, she responds to emails quickly, you're never left thinking ""the guy's got my 50% deposit, is that the last I'm going to see of him?""
Put it this way - I'm already thinking of more work that I can have done so I can get his guy's back here. You will not be sorry if you hire him.
