I so appreciate Harry Clark Plumbing & Heating. In fixing my ancient gas floor furnace, the serviceman (Ronnie) was knowledgeable, skilled, efficient, communicative, and friendly.
Thank you!
Andy in Oakland's Dimond District.

I have had great results with Harry Clark Plumbing. They did such a great job from the 2000's until present day (yesterday- my old sump pump finally gave out) The sump pump well they installed has gotten compliments from drainage consultant to electrician working in that area of the crawl space- anyone who happens to be working in that area of my house has commented that ""they did a very nice job on that pump well"". Yes, it's true I'm sump pump proud. Thank you Harry Clark! On time, responsive, communicative, dependable, great work!

Just over three years ago we had them install a sump pump in our driveway. They put a metal grate over it and I asked if that would catch the debris that would inevitably fall through. The guy told me it would be fine and not to worry about it. Three years later after our big rains, the driveway flooded. It was under about 6 to 7 inches of water for many hours. After siphoning out the water, I saw that the pump was running but not working and had spewed oil inside the hole. This was an almost new pump that they had installed. I called them to come and check it out and they told me the pump needed to be replaced since there were more rains coming. I paid them another $1200 to put in a new pump. it feels like a racket and I'm disappointed the company did not take any responsibility for installing a pump that only lasted for three years without giving me any instruction or guidance on how to maintain it and implied that no maintenance was necessary. They acted like it was my fault when they told me there was nothing I needed to worry about. I am disappointed in this customer service.

It was during a big storm and Harry Clark was slammed. A huge tree had fallen and broken a water pipe and was flooding underneath the house. Electricity was out, tree was covering the valve to turn off water and East Bay Mud evaluated and could do nothing until the tree was removed. This could be days. Bradley managed to gather a crew with a generator and pump and was at the site within 30 minutes of the call. The guy pumped all the water out from under the house and with unbelievable ingenuity managed to get access to the water source and identify the broken pipe and clamped it down stopping all the water from rushing under house. It was a Superman moment!!! Thank you Harry Clark for responding to a 911 situation with all that was going on and being better than anyone expected!!!

When the pilot light on a tenant's water heater failed I called Harry Clark and they had someone at the unit the next day. The new water heater was installed by the time the tenant came home with a minimum of hassle. It's not an inexpensive job but the price was reasonable.

The technicians are great, but they are very predatory and will try to milk you for all you've got. I've re-iterated my issues to the operator and she confirmed that they will have all the tools necessary. Needless to say, they sent a person without the necessary equipment and had the audacity to charge me because they sent someone out, and afterwards proceeded to gaslight me into feeling like I am trying to stiff them.

I've given my review below. I was pleasantly surprised to get outreach from customer service to ""make it right"" and I planned to follow up and possibly change my review.
But after seeing Don's response to my review, not only completely opposite the apologetic tone of the voicemail I received but also flat out LYING about the unskilled plumber they sent who did mishandle the repair, there is no way I would change my review. ""Small business"" or not, you screwed up and you should have just owned it. This company can lose my number and I'll lose theirs.

I waited four days for them to try to fix my sink. I told them I had to come from work before getting home and it would take me 20 minutes to get there.. The day the work was to be done they didn't call me because they wrote the phone number wrong, assumed I was supposed to be at home exactly on the hour, did not contact me beforehand, like a day or two before, and took off before I got home. This really upset me. It was over the weekend as to why I waited so long without water. Then after I told them I work in the mornings, they could only schedule in the morning. I would not recommend them if you work and can't be home before three. I will never use them again.

There was a time when Harry Clark was a top notch ethical company and I would have rated them with a 5 star review. Sadly, that is no longer true. The single star is required.
I have used Harry Clark for many years. Unfortunately, something has significantly changed...outrageous price gouging! I called them to snake my clean out, and they informed me that the clean-out needed replacing. They did not provide a written estimate, and I woefully assumed the price would be reasonable. When I asked the sewer foreman how much it would be, he said ""3,000.00. But let's keep our fingers crossed."" I thought he was joking. He then went on to say that I needed sewer lateral work, at an astonishing 15,000.00 above and beyond the outrageous 3K for the clean-out .When I told the sewer foreman that that was too much, he then stated "" how about 11,500.00. ?"" Something wasn't right here. So, I immediately, stopped them from doing any further work, and promptly secured several estimates from other reputable companies.
All of the other plumbing & sewer companies came in with estimates between 9,000 - 9,200 for the sewer lateral work. And they all provided quotes for the clean out replacement that ranged from 1200.00 - 1500.00. A significant disparity in pricing. When I called Harry Clark to negotiate a lower rate based on the market and what other companies are charging, and a longstanding 20 year relationship, the manager (Brad) became hostile, raising his voice, and argumentative. I was taken aback by his unprofessional conduct.
I am not quite sure what to make of all of this. But this isn't the Harry Clark that I've done business with for 20 years. I will never use them again, ever. The price gouging leads me to suspect that commissions or some other unethical practice is taking place.
Take it from me, get other estimates before letting this company rob you.

Harry Clark relocated and replaced two on demand Navien water heaters as we moved into our new house. The previous install had been amateur hour, and the crew at Harry Clark were clearly professionals and were able to tackle a challenge. Brad Jr. was responsive and helped come up with a plan that everyone was happy with, and Nick and everyone else did an amazing job making the exposed copper pipes into a work of art in our garage.
The crew did amazing work but we would have appreciated if they're done a better job cleaning up at the end of each day and at the end of the project.
When one water heater started acting up a few months later they came out quickly and swapped out a faulty circuit board under warranty. We would certainly hire Harry Clark again! Be
