I'm Dick Terry from Arlington, MA. I'm not from San Francisco.
Sunday, Labor Day weekend, my hot water heater broke, water all over the cellar. I called Chris Doyon at Harris Plumbing and Heating in Arlington. Although he was in Maine, he called me Sunday night and confirmed what i was doing to drain it, and assured me he'd be here Tuesday AM (remember, Monday was Labor Day) to replace it.
Tuesday morning, he called first, and arrived 10 minutes later. He and Owen pulled out the broken HW heater, they immediately went to the wholesaler and got a new one and installed it right away. I was all set by 11 AM.
Chris, and his father before him have been our plumbers for 52 years. I can't recommend Harris Plumbing highly enough.

Not even worth 0ne star. Charged $850 and ignored the problem that initiated the call. Harris finally sent out a different tech who performed a $250 clean-out. His response to all my complaints was ""I Understand"" over and over again. Beware of elevated prices. Don't allow the tech to wander off the problem and beef up the charge. Get the price in stone before the work. Harris sent me a $50 gift card that was returned. I will NEVER use Harris again. However, the first tech did admit that he did not unclog the line because it was a rainy day.

Went to look at a basement drain problem. Spent 2 minutes, tightened a kitchen faucet and charged $178 to my 97 yr. old mother.... Not to be trusted.

Best Plumber!!! I had a leak from the 2nd floor bathroom. I called them up and they came very quickly. They were able to locate the problem and fix it with a brand new part. They were very professional and explained everything clearly. If I ever need a plumber again, I now have Harris Plumbing on my speed dial. Great Company!

Harris does excellent work, they are friendly and communicative, reasonably priced and most importantly, they return phone calls immediately and show up right away if there is an emergency.

Had these guys install a hot water heater 10 years ago and they were fast, efficient, and reasonable. It is now 10 years later, the warranty is over, and the unit is failing. So I called them on a Saturday and left my name and number to be contacted. When then they never called back I called again on Wednesday and was told by the operator ""I gave him that message"" and repeated back the proper name and number. I asked to be contacted again. Nothing... no call, no response, and still no new hot water heater, at least until the next plumber I just called returns a call or not.

Too busy to return calls? Too lazy to return calls? You decide. I am voting with my feet.

No show. Had a pipe burst under my kitchen sink so I stopped by their location since it is a block from me. A fellow Chris said he would come by around 10 but never showed up. The number he gave me to contact him was his answering service and i never heard back. He had my phone number. Could have called to tell me something. Perhaps they aren't interested in small jobs but can't say no?

Recommended by, of all people. the real estate agent who sold me my house. And they've been great. I'm not the only one in Arlington who thinks they're the best, so they're very busy. But even if you hear they won't be able to make it right away, somehow they always do. Their work is fabulous (they've never fixed the same thing twice); they're honest and friendly and work fast Prices are very fair. No surprises, no hidden charges.
