Found out my parents used Harris for a toilet replacement after the fact. I was furious that they charged elderly seniors $1200 That was with their friendly homeowner warranty or it would have been more! I would not recommend this company and shame on them for not willing to work with me when I called about their outrageous pricing. This is how America takes care of our seniors run from this company they are all about greed!
Total scammers. Air stopped working came out and told us this one component needed replacing which it did look burnt. Replaced and then said leak someone where wanted to charge $1,200 to had freon but said probably would stop working. He said we really needed to replace unit for $8,000-$12,000. We said getting a second opinion went 3 1/2 days without air 89 degrees in the house. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. Had someone else come out got it working in less than 15 mins. The part we replaced was
the issue but the guy from Harris didn't leave it run long enough before taking out the breaker and saying it was shot. We could have had air the whole time. He tried to also get us to replace air unit and heater for $20,000. Do not use
them they are total scammers.
Made an appointment and was not told to watch for a text on the morning of the apt. They texted at 7:58 am!!! Suffice it to say that an appointment with these imbeciles is NOT an appointment. Let's face it, for $59 you get an idiot showing up to try to sell you equipment you don't need. Do not call HARRIS for anything, they suck and have no respect for your time. I wasted an entire day off setting the appointment, thus I charged them a $100 cancellation fee because I require 24 hrs. notice if you're not going to do what you said. They suck, don't even think about this company.
wish I could give no stars. paid way too much money $600 to have them come out and install a trap about a year and a half ago. it is now leaking. called them to see if I could get it fixed. the unprofessional girl who answered the phone, who answered the phone laughing, heard my husband cursing and angry in the background. she said she could earn someone out here, but she didn't feel safe now. really???? sweetheart, you are in the phone!!!! are you coming here yourself??? also, learn how to de escalate irate customers, cause saying you feel unsafe while laughing is not the way to do it.
Charged my wife (who doesn't know prices and was too impatient to
Wait for me) $500 to
Install a bathroom (single hold) faucet which took them 15 minutes. We provided the faucet so no parts. We also wanted two toilet resets. They had already started the first one so
I let them finish. The price $500 again. Parts $10. That took 20 Minutes. I called another plumber to
do the second toilet. They quoted $165 to come out and $100 to reset the toilet. Not cheap
But not unfair. So do you think
Harris was over priced? Obviously yes.
Have had many issues and inconveniences with Harris. Not worth it. And you can never get a manager on the phone.
Needed a electrician quick , bought a stove at Lowe's when they delivered it wasn't the right electric hookup. I never use a company not recommended by a friend but was in a bind. Called Harris around 9 am . Victor was there in a hour, very nice , clean and explained everything to me and got the job just in time so stove could be installed. Plus the woman in the office was super friendly and helpful. Everyone was very friendly. I highly recommend.
Jeannette V.The young repair man Colton was professional, courteous and respectful of property. He explained the process and the repair.
Thank you
It has been over a month since Harris installed a new panel. Yesterday, our panel was inspected and it failed for 2 items. Also, I found out that it is illegal for the company to make you pay for the job before the final inspection. There is a New Jersey law that protects customers. This is all written on the permit. The permit that we received after the work was finished and paid for. I am disgusted with learning of this. When asked to meet with the owner, I was told he is out of the country. I stated I would more than gladly come to the main office and meet with him. Then the manager of electrical, Brad, wants to smooth things over. No thanks this is going to Better Business Bureau. Oh we also found out by several electricians that the job should be $4500 not $8000.
Update: Today (1/29/25)
So, today, I received a call from Sharief from Harris Plumbing and Heating (after calling three separate times and being placed on hold. The first call was at 3:30 pm, holding for 7m and 14 s, and the second call at 3:37 pm, holding for 3m and 7s, only to be told he wasn't available. I told her I would update my review because this company lied to my credit card company, saying I was avoiding them. At 3:47 pm, I finally received a call from Sharief defending the company and their actions of charging me $3,010 for services NOT completely rendered (expected). He and I argued for 15m and 47s regarding my issue. He argued with me that the charges were valid. He argued (his words) with me about the charges (because I signed the paperwork). He argued with me about installing the surge protectors (he sent pictures of two pieces of equipment they allegedly installed. One of the pieces of equipment already existed when my house was built). At some point, I became tired of arguing and offered the benefit of the doubt, offering to pay a portion of the service, but that was NOT good enough. He kept pushing the envelope to keep my entire $3,010. He kept saying they could visit my house and make it right. They can't make it right because I had to hire ANOTHER company to make it right...and they did! The problem with the motor that Harris supposedly repaired was NOT the problem. Eventually, I told him I was tired of arguing. I told him they could keep the $3,010 they SCREWED me out of and DID NOT EARN. I TOLD THEM NOT TO CALL, EMAIL, OR TEXT ME AGAIN! I also reached out to Ryan Harris - General Manager of Harris Plumbing, Heating, Air, yesterday because I feel he should know the issues happening with the company. I am still waiting for a response from him. Screenshots of all communication are attached to this response.
