The pipes that go to my washing machine and dryer freeze every winter and have since I purchased the home 10 years ago. I called Harris plumbing and they came promptly to give me an estimate to repipe the laundry room. They immediately knew what the problem was and how to rectify it. They came the very next day and did the job quickly and efficiently at a great price. They were courteous, respectful and clean. They did a great job. Very happy and highly recommend.

Contacted Harris plumbing after they came recommended by a friend. They came to do work at my grandmothers house in Hyde park. while they were there working they broke three (that's 3) pieces on her hallway shelf. Including an irreplaceable family statue that was over 200 years old. I Understand accidents happen however there was no attempt to right this wrong they just handed over the bill and left as if nothing happened. This is no way to treat people. I live in Pleasant Valley and will be making sure none of my family or friends have to be subjected to this kind of treatment.

Can't beat Harris plumbing. Honest, reliable, and fairly price. They have done multiple jobs at my new house and everyone is perfect. From replacing my pressure tank and hole house filter, replace toilets, to replacing my old moen showers valves and tub drain. I trust them with all my plumbing needs.

Do not use Harris Plumbing and Heating or its predecessor, RC Harris Plumbing and Heating.

RC Harris had been my service provider since 2008. It was a good company but it has run into hard times over the last few years--litigation, dishonest practices, key employee losses and a transition from an experienced father (Rick) who is very ill to an incompetent and inexperienced son (Mike).

Four years ago RC Harris installed two new Bosch boilers in my Amenia, NY house. Both failed this year beyond repair. Both were natural gas boilers that should have been converted to propane when installed. Bosch voided the five-year warranty due to RC Harris' improper installation and maintenance. RC Harris refused to accept responsibility leaving our family without hot water and heat for seven weeks this Fall. Cold well-water showers every day. They were entirely unsympathetic and unresponsive--a twelve year relationship and I could not even get a return phone call. They only quoted a full price ($16,600) to replace the system. Ultimately, I hired a new service provider who did the job for much less.

Earlier this year, RC Harris gave me a quote to replace one of my hot water tanks. I asked them to install an additional tank. The final price for two new tanks was 3x the price quoted for one tank. And the plumbing of the installation was poorly done , e.g., new lines that just dead end. One of many experiences over the last few years that things had changed radically and a once reliable vendor could no longer be trusted.

See attached photos for how they promoted by systems in their marketing yet totally walked away from a loyal customer who had spent thousands on them over 12 years when it became apparent that they had totally failed me.

Hopefully, other customers will benefit from my experience by cutting their losses and switching to a trusted and reliable service provider for their heating, plumbing and air conditioning needs.

At first we were very appreciative of their response to come to our home so quickly and check on the damaged water heater. They came in and determined we needed another heater, and would call us to let us know if they could obtain another of the same brand and size.

We got a phone call within an hour or so stating that the water heater tank was not available anymore as they discontinued the model, but they were able to get us a similar one. Having warranty on our current one, they worked out a deal so that we would only have to pay for labor and a small fee for the new tank and we decided to go ahead and order the tank and install it either over the weekend or first thing Monday after they received delivery of the tank. We cancelled a previous appointment with another company since this would have been faster and cheaper.

Monday rolls around and we hear nothing. We waited until Tuesday morning to find out that they never loaded the tank on the truck to be delivered. Obviously we were a bit upset and asked if there was anything we could do. We had no hot water for over a week and Thanksgiving was only 2 days away. We were told it would have been done by Monday. We get another call back few hours (around 2pm) later telling us that our hot water heater was out of warranty and that along with us having to choose a different model tank, that we would have to pay for a whole new tank at full price and the job would be done the following week. My first thought and impression was that they changed their story and became suspicious since our tank wasn't very old and should still have its warranty. They told us they would help us out and would call back with a solution. They never called back!

Since I was suspicious, after we hung up with them, we ended up calling someone else to see if they could do it faster or to get help. We were stressed without having hot water for over a week now with Thanksgiving in a few days. They told me there was the exact same heater tank we had in stock, plus found out that we still had warranty. They came and replaced in 1 day.

What a terrible experience. Tried to lie to us and charge us for more money. And all that aside, what terrible service. Didn't call to inform us that the heater wasn't on the delivery truck and only found out when we called them next day. Didn't call us back after telling us they would once they found out more info. At least get your story right when you try to lie to your consumer. Not professional at all. Save your money and time and choose someone else.

I can't express my appreciation for RC Harris enough.

My wife and I had our well shocked by another plumbing co. in order to sell the house. When the water test failed they wanted to charge us again to re-do it. And tried to up sell an UV system that would have cost another 2K. This was holding up our closing and they knew it.

So I called RC Harris, they went out to survey the job and found that there was a lot of bacteria in the softener that probably led to the failing test. They went above and beyond and cleaned all the systems, softener, toilet tanks, etc as well as re-chlorinated the well. Then wen't back day after day to make sure that the water was as good as it can be to re-test.

I can't thank them enough!

We had a problem with a frozen waste pipe. we called R C Harris to our rescue!
Eric can over with a giant plumbing snake and cleared up the problem quickly.
This is the second time we have have this company over for plumbing problems - two different problems. They handled both with swiftness and expertise - without having to remortgage the property!!
